《A Peaceful World》chapter 10 - a single rabbit

Quill wiped the salty tears from his eyes and warmly gazed at the small rabbit on his lap. After a while of calming his emotions he couldn’t help but have one question on his mind.
’how did this rabbit survive while all the others… I don’t even want to think about it… but...’
While Quill was having his internal dilemma over a certain question, the rabbit hopped off his lap and moved away from Quill before looking back towards him.
’but it would probably be better to find out… hm? the rabbit, does it want me to follow?’
Noticing the rabbit, Quill gets up and moves towards the rabbit. The rabbit proceeds to move forwards before stopping, looking back at Quill again then charges forwards at an extremely fast speed. The target of this charge? A tree, the same tree it has failed to climb before. As the rabbit reaches the tree it jumps. The rabbit reaches a tremendous height, almost doubling the height it could jump before. Grabbing onto the tree with its front legs, the hind legs contract, gather power before releasing tremendous power into the tree. Shooting the rabbit upwards towards the sky. Yet again grabbing onto the tree, the rabbit jumped. The rabbit stretched its front legs forwards as it grasped onto its goal. The branch. The very same branch it couldn’t reach before. The rabbit pulled itself up onto the branch and with a triumphantly looked towards Quill as if to say “look, I can do it!”.
Quill just stood there dumbfounded over what just happened. Why did the rabbit climb the tree? With that thought he finally remembered. The rabbit tried to climb this tree before but failed and even injured itself in the process. But now, it can finally do it.

“wow, you actually done it! good job!”
Quill couldn’t help but be happy for the rabbit who finally realised his goal. With that Quill couldn’t help but think.
’maybe, just maybe, when the wolves attacked this rabbit was climbing this tree so the wolves didn’t notice it’
Quill couldn’t see any other way that only this one rabbit would survive while all the others fell to the wolves. it was the only logical explanation he could think of.
With the compliments from Quill, the rabbit quickly climbed back down from the tree and stood in front of him. Now that the rabbit has lost its family, the only one left for this young rabbit to rely on is Quill.
Quill looked down towards the rabbit, got down on one knee and said
“from now on, it seems it’s you and me, how about we go kill some wolves?”
The rabbit stared intensely at Quill before nodding.
you have tamed a ‘Yukisagi Rabbit’
please state a name to give her
“eh?”
do you accept the name ‘Eh’?
“oh god, no”
please state name
’hmm, what should I name it, it’s a her right? so I shouldn’t name her anything manly, hmm, I’m bad at names… what was the race called? Yukisagi rabbit? maybe I should just name her Yuki? that's a girly name right? I think, well it may be lazy but no one would know… gotta stop reminding myself of that… remember, name, important… I can’t think of any name other than Yuki now! I guess i’ll have to with that, it’s not a bad name after all’
“Yuki”
do you accept the name ‘Yuki’?
“yes”
The Yukisagi Rabbit has been named ‘Yuki’
you have learnt the taming skill
you have learnt the mammal mastery skill
you have gained the beast tamer class
Advertisement
the beast tamer class has been equipped
’two skills and a new class! thats amazing, all for taming one animal! wait a minute, if I got a new class then what happened to my old one? did it overwrite it or no? If not then I’ve become some sort of adventurer beast tamer? and the two skills, taming is straightforward as taming but mammal mastery is a bit odd, it’s a skill that increases my mastery of mammals? so my ability to use mammals? one would think that would come under taming but maybe taming strictly only affects the process of taming itself? and since it’s mammal mastery and not animal mastery or beast mastery then are there other masteries such as reptile mastery and bird mastery? there’s only one way to find that out but that question whether I want to go taming animals all willy nilly… so many questions…
After a while, Quill finally breaks out of his inner monologue to see Yuki sitting there obediently waiting for him.
“Yuki, shall we go and kill some wolves?”
Yuki nodded her head before climbing onto Quills shoulder. Quill picks up his spear and walks out of what once was the rabbit habitat, never looking back.

The Doormat Villainess – Adrianne
A villainess is a character who has always been diametrically opposed to the heroine of a romance drama. What makes a person a good villainess? The fact that she's unabashedly beautiful and charismatic, yet also rotten inside? The fact that she's incredibly loathsome, greedy, and selfish? That she's reasonably strong enough to be a hurdle, yet ultimately powerless in the face of a determined heroine? That despite all these character flaws, a Villainess's greatest virtue is unwilling to give up until the last of their breath, in pursuit of her personal desire? If those are the hallmark of a successful Villainess. Then, I might be the wrong person to play that role. Also on Scribblehub (Profile)

This concept of the book came about from having two mild heart attacks and the regrets of not being more active in my younger life. Note: The cover of the book is from a painting of Richard the Lionheart at the Battle of Arsuf (1191) during the Third Crusade where he defeated Saladin. Painting by Gustave Doré (19th century).
