Underneath a mansion in Beijing, an underground facility was built with secrecy to develop a human with supernaturals ability. Inside of a room, a handsome youth frown as he listens to the youth with gauze in his nose.
"It's impossible, that power is confidential secret, the government is the only one who knew this so how could it possibly leak?" A blue-eyed blonde youth tap on his armchair as he fell into deep thought.
"By the way, did you trouble Jack?" Clarence asked the youth who has a gauze on his face.
"Yes;" Paul answered respectfully, but inside he was cursing Clarence, as he ignored the existence of 'Holder' for that ant.
He coldly looks at Paul as he already knew what he was thinking. 'Fool, for a shortsighted person like you do not have the qualification to have this kind of power, do you think that we will bully an ordinary person for no reason?' When he thought that his father, assign him to harass this insignificant youth he was quite frustrated, instead of sharpening his power he was here wasting his time with the ordinary human.
Clarence already regarded himself as a person who was above his peers, so he develops his arrogant attitude after obtaining the power to look down on a regular human.
His father is one of the members of a powerful world government who produce a pill that can turn the ordinary human into 'Holder' but to turn into awakened has a high risk of death.
At first, he was scared that his father forced him to consume that scary pill, it made him lose himself from pain as he continued to howl for a whole day. But after obtaining the benefits, he was proud of himself as he thought that he is a chosen by the heavens.
So he was naturally displeased by the fact that harassing Jack to force his father to hand over his research, he thought that an ordinary human was enough so why did he send his son.
Clarence already regarded Jack father into a madman, after hearing what he said. "You can hurt my son, but if you use him to threaten me, I am afraid you don't have the guts to do that." Furthermore, his father send someone to protect his son, that person didn't appear yet, so Clarence is not sure if that is true or not.

"Focus on harassing Jack;" Clarence said coldly.
Paul stood on his chair as he couldn't longer bear it anymore, he was about to say something but stopped after seeing Clarence's eyes turned red. Seeing that, Paul was scared and felt that his back was drench in cold sweat, as he saw that the chair was on fire and turned into dust.
Seeing that scene, Paul looks at Clarence with fear. "Don't oppose just follow my order."
"And don't trouble Romnick, I will personally look for him."
He doesn't have guts to antagonize this devil for fear that he will burn him to ashes, so he nodded and left the room with sweat all over his face. Looking at the shivering back of Paul, Clarence smiled coldly.
When Paul silhouette disappeared, Clarence covered his mouth as he a cough, blood flowed on his hand as he said; "Is this the side-effect of using this power?"
Similar to Jack, Clarence possessed the genes of Ifrit in the legends, due to his weak body a slight use of ability will reduce him to this sorry state.
His father, Merrick Pontic warned him not to use his ability as his body couldn't handle the burden because of his young age. Clarence now knew that his father already knew beforehand what kind of power he obtains.
Merrick Pontic didn't tell Clarence, that his genes belong to C-class, like the mission system. The power of genes also has ranking power, so Clarence was not aware of how powerful the power he possessed that made him carelessly used it.
Inside of Freed University Library, a twelve years old kid could be seen reading quietly while on his side was a youth that tried to converse with him.
"Hey, did you provoke Paul or something, why the hell did he keep on bothering you?" Romnick asks Jack who was busy reading a book about world history. Romnick was slightly displeased that this youth was not grateful for saving him and even ignored him.
Romnick was around Jack force field so he can naturally read his thought, but he chose to ignore him as he keeps on flipping the book after taking a glance at it. "Why are you flipping the book that fast did you even read it?" Romnick was speechless as he thought Jack was here in the library to play around.

"Do you believe me if I said that I have a photographic memory?" Jack finally respond from Romnick.
He knew that this guy would not stop opening his mouth if he didn't respond. Romnick eyes sparkled as he looks at Jack like a big brother who found his younger brother. "I believe you."
Jack stared at Romnick speechless 'I said those word to make you stay away from me.' But when his thought appeared in his mind, he was surprised that Romnick also possesses an innate ability.
"Ehe, do you also believe that I got a kinetic vision?" Romnick said with a proud expression.
Jack ignored Romnick as he took another book from the bookshelves. "No;" Jack answered.
"Aw men, did you turn into bookworm?" Romnick said.
"Romnick, can you stop bothering Jack, he was preparing for the exam so can you give him some space." An angry voice shouted behind them.
Romnick smiled and turned his head. "Arvin, you are siding with Jack again, do you think I can't beat you inside this library?"
Arvin just smiled as he laughs replied. "Try it then."
"Damn you, Arvin don't use my goddess to threaten me!" Romnick shouted.
Jack look at the two who was bothering him for three days already, after the class he will go to the library to increase his knowledge, but he didn't expect that this two will tag along. He didn't know what friendship was, but deep inside his soul, he felt happy as this is the first time he experienced a time like this.
He didn't know why the two of them would stay with him, with Clarence behind his bullying no one dared to be his friend, so when the two of them are with him. He was quite worried that Clarence may do something, and there's also Yen Yen who send an assassin to kill him previously.
While the two was having fun, a gentle voice resounded in Jack's ears. "I didn't expect you to come to the library again."
Did the assassin fail?
Why, my dad said that assassin was famous for killing, how could this kid still alive?
While the girl was talking in a gentle tone, her thoughts are full of murderous intention as she looks at Jack. Having the power to read minds, Jack knew all of her thought so he didn't bother to respond.
He turned around and ignored Yen Yen who was smiling at him. "The two of you, stop talking and let's go;" Jack said.
Romnick and Arvin notice the beautiful young girl in front of them, but they didn't make noise. They are waiting for Jack to call them out, the two already thought of befriending Jack. So the two followed him and quietly leave the library.
Yen Yen look at their back, as her thought wandered on her premonition, that Jack will transform into a person she will not understand. When she saw Jack, her premonition told her to be careful.
Yen Yen belongs to the family of an assassin, so it was natural that she developed a sixth sense that made her alert to the deadly crisis. When she got near beside Jack, she got the feeling sooner or later, she and Clarence will face a terrifying enemy.
Jack's eyes contain the coldness that only an assassin without any care for life could have, so seeing this was quite shocking that Jack changes so much that she hardly recognized him.
"Why can I feel that Jack suddenly became scary?" Yen Yen mumbled.
"Oh, I will get Paul to deal with him, I have to erase all of the hindrances that will block my path." Yen Yen said silently, as she made her way outside the library

Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent
