Venus - Avalon
May 4, 2558, C.E.
The room was sterile, yet it was a room of both religion and science. Dr. Palnov's dark eyes were wide. “They already know more than I hoped was true.” On Terra Firma, he was the most knowledgeable person about the bridge between science and religion. Here, he was over 150 years behind in research. He was reading a book entitled “Compiled recordings regarding aural energy manifested in humans.”
He waved a wide wand around his arm. A screen nearby showed him there existed a layer of invisible energy around his arm. It was visible on the scanner and surprised him to be a blue-white. Dr. Palnov had a second skin. As he moved the scanner over his body he noted that the layer of energy varied in thickness but ranged from 1-2 centimeters to as much as 30 centimeters in some places near his heart and head.
The field interacted like water, if he pressed it with his finger it would displace. It passed straight through his clothes, in fact, as he took off his jacket it appeared a liquid substance covered the jacket even though no substance existed in the physical realm. He pushed down on the field on his arm. Pressure formed and the energy bubbled outward. When his finger met his arm the energy sealed and became one layer instead of two.
Dr. Palnov turned the handheld scanner to a nearby fern. The small plant also had a similar field, but the plant’s field was more static. It was a greenish hue and interacted more like a gel. As Dr. Palnov lightly pressed on the field it pressed on the fronds themselves and the plant tried to move slowly away.
Setting up the wand to watch a frond at a high magnification he pressed on the frond from both sides at once. As the energies compressed upon each other he found that the one from the frond moved slower. It was harder and resisted movement much more than his energy. He found that the first layer that broke was his energy field. His finger was physically touching the fern’s energy field but had not yet touched the frond itself. He wondered if the physical feeling he was receiving which could be as an oily feeling was the energy field of this plant.

As he pressed harder on the field it hardened further. It was defending itself. It did not take much force to break through and once it did the field shattered around his finger. His field and the field of the plant closed into one and melded at the combination as if there was a symbiosis. He felt like by touching the plant he could feel a little bit of what it was thinking. It rejected him at first, but now, they were honest acquaintances.
How had he never realized this? He was so close. Too bad the management of Tera Firma had decided to prevent his research from continuing. If only he had this information years ago. He with a couple of changes to the belief system he could have proved that the Unified Christian Church was scientifically correct. For some reason, unknown to him, it seemed like religion and science were always at war.
He went on to read, that while an energy field surrounded each living being, each field had a different “fingerprint.” Upon death, this energy is the first thing to leave the body and is the weight released, which science could never explain before. This field ceased to be. It was the light and physical manifestation of a being’s soul. It powered so many things.
He clicked a button on the wand that said “Register” and his aural fingerprint added into the database in the wand. He yawned and started cleaning up for the night. He could not wait to see what his energy field could do.

Keeper
When I first woke up I knew only three things: My name is Reiza, I have a seed I need to care for, and a song. I was told that the forest I woke up in was mine and that I needed to take control of it and protect it. The only things standing in my way are nature itself, a bunch of strange floating boxes, and a group of crazy powerful creatures known as the forest queens. Sounds pretty simple right? It might be if it weren't for the fact that I have absolutely zero memory, but hey at least I know my name. Also apparently my enemies aren't only inside the forest. Forces from the outside got news that somthing was going down in my new home and are coming to crash my party. Can I claim this forest? Can I protect it? And most importantly can I figure out who I am and what's going on? I'm not sure but I'm going to try. Hey everyone I'm fairly new to writing novles and this is my first time ever putting my work on a site like this one. I hope you enjoy the story and would appreciate your feedback. I would ask that you read through at least a couple of chapters before leaving a rating. I know I have some trouble with grammer and how I structure some of my sentences and while feedback on that is appreciated what I would value most is feedback on the story as a whole in terms of how the plot works and if you are enjoying it or not. Life in another world with an Immunity System
NOTE: I just finished a large scale editing with the chapters. From now on, the world is no longer a 1000X Earth. I have added my original element. From here on, with a few exceptions, no similarity can be found with our Earth. Thank you. The change has been applied from chapter 1. So if anyone finds any missed places or traces of my previous world-building, please comment and notify me. Andel lived in a world where those with powers will have the final say in everything. In his world, having no aptitude to either magic or Ki means you are even worse than ants. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any aptitude to either. His life should have been hell, but due to being the son of two powerful parents and descendant of a powerful family saved him from a wretched fate. Life was harsh, but Andel wasn’t one to mourn and do nothing. From his childhood, he learned all kinds of close-combat styles and martial arts, proving himself to be a genius at close combat as long as ki isn’t involved. As genius as he was, there was no way he could match those with powers, right? Wrong! Andel had another identity. He was originally a person from Earth who got transmigrated after an accident. Moreover, during his transmigration, he also gained a system that gave him resistance to various things in exchange for experience points. With the Immunity System in hand, Andel decided to finally step into this magical new world and make a name for himself, after spending twenty years in training. HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. Even war. 18-year-old Nic Sigfried wants the high score. Virtually piloting a real-life robot, he'll face off against his peers with the help of his AI guidance system, RTIFIS. The prize? New worlds across the galaxy that are ripe for human conquest and terraforming. It sounds glamorous on paper, but this job might be more dangerous than he thought... HUD: Wargame is the first of a five-part sci-fi series featuring GameLit elements. HUD: Wargame contains some (simulated) violence and very sparing PG-13 profanity. Updates Monday-Thursday-Saturday.
