《The Assassin Chronicles: Part I》Iri

Iri knelt in front of her sister and the man who was holding her. She tried to ignore the fact that he was only in a pair of boxers and smelled like Danny.
Mac I’m not gonna die that easily, she muttered in Russian.
Yah! Then you shouldn’t go scaring me! Mac snapped in Korean smacking her on the arm half heartedly.
Oi! Iri laughed in Greek. It’s not me you should be hitting. If anything you should be beating up Ni-Chan. It’s his fault that any of this happened in the first place.
The man who’s lap she was sitting in gave Iri an odd look. She took the opportunity to study him. That’s when she realized who he was.
Astinos? She asked.
The man jumped in surprise.
Wait, you know him? Mac asked shrilly.
Jesus Christ Mac could you talk any more high pitched? Iri grumbled rubbing her temples. Amon may have healed my body but he left me with a raging headache. And your voice is so not helping.
Mac shrugged which caused Iri to roll her eyes.
But yes I know him. I know every inch of him. She said the last part in a jumble of words so no one would hear it but some one had heard it.
You know every inch of him? Danny growled in Russian.
Iri’s head snapped to him. Aside from the bandages on his arms, Danny looked the same but different at the same time. Iri stood and went to him. She studied him silently for a long moment.
Are you gonna tell me why you know every inch of him? Danny snapped again in Russian.
You’re different, Iri mused in Russian. What I can’t understand is why you changed so quickly and what it has to do with Astinos. She paused for a moment. You didn’t, did you?

You know he’s an idiot when it comes to thinking with the head between his legs, Niall muttered in Russian.
How could you?!? Iri shouted in Japanese. You knew you were going undercover tomorrow but you still did it! How could you? I trusted you! You are the only one who can do this mission and you threw it all away because you wanted his dick!
Iri please, it’s not like I planned any of this, Danny pleaded reaching for her.
Iri shook him off and threw him against the wall.
I never should have trusted you, she whispered angrily in Russian.
Get your hands off of him, Astinos growled at her.
Iri didn’t move. She couldn’t not without everyone seeing the tears in her eyes. She was strong. She didn’t want anyone to see her cry even if they were family.
Castiel, she heard Mac whisper. The angel made his way to her and after a moment of whispering he vanished without a word.
Let him go, Astinos ordered her.
Don’t! Mac snapped throwing herself between her and Astinos. Astinos don’t provoke her. Please! We can’t risk Koschei coming out again. None of us would survive that.
Iri put the weapon down, her uncle ordered quietly. She hadn’t even realized that she’d pulled one.
Nyet! She snapped trying to keep the tears from her voice.
Suddenly a force barreled into her and knocked her off her feet. Whatever weapon she’d been holding skittered out of reach.
What the fuck are you doing, huh? A new voice demanded from above her.
Iri looked up. Dean was kneeling above her and he looked livid. Whatever control she had snapped at that moment and she curled up on her side and sobbed.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
