《Magical Mecha Knight》Chapter 29: Getting used to It.

Magnus worked through the menu activating just one of the several new standard mechs that had just arrived in the arena.
" Race, get used to your mechs. you can fight the standard mechs I summoned to get a hang of it. I know you are a combat genius but you should try to be a little more careful. A mech requires much more focus and control to pilot. You will know once you try it. Now.. fight." Magnus ordered the standard mech to fight.
The standard combat mech that Race was fighting this time was only armed with a single sabre, it was called Soldier Mark IX. It was one of the mech that were average among the ones that Magnus had summoned. The mech then Ran towards with its weapon raised high and Race was ready for it.
Race decided to simply dodge the strike than take it head on. He was being careful, It is always good to be careful when trying something new. Race pulled back of the mechs strike range. Race waited for it to get back. The Mark 9 once again executed the same move. This time Race didn't avoid the strike he use his sword to deflect Mark 9's sword leaving it open to his follow up attack. Race then sliced off the mechs sword hand of it.
Race felt it was too easy. " Magnus, this is way easier than what you told me".
" Mhmm... you are right.", Magnus then waved his hand despawning Race's mech. " It seems Master has designed the mech to compensate for some of your rookie mistakes. Don't get me wrong you are a master swordsman and brilliant warrior but you seriously lack experience fighting in a Mech".
Race to had felt that something was different. It was as if every single action of his action was being corrected. This caused a minute pause before the Mech started the action. The time gap was really small but did not escape Race's perception.

" So, that is why it felt weird. So brother Magnus what is the mech correcting." Race was genuinely curious.
" A Mech is something that weighs a lot, so each action of the mech such great momentum that it might affects the pilots combat ability if not addressed correctly. Most mechs have an inbuilt correcting system but that is mostly used by mediocre pilots. Those that are truly great turn this off. They usually do the correction themselves or if they are really great they can use this momentum create chain of attacks."
" I believe you fall along the latter category. So before you get accustomed to your mechs correction factor, you should train in one of the training mechs or atleast one of the Mass produced ones." Saying so Race summoned on of the soldier series swordsman mech for Race.
" Like using a wooden sword to learn the basics of swordsmanship", Race added from his past life experience. " Absolutely, I do believe that you can get the hang of that in the next 6 hours. Then coupled with your Mech specifically designed for you by master you can easily be battle ready. Technically we are not needed to fight, we are going there to strategize and investigate. But its all just to be safe. Its doesn't hurt to be prepared."
Race's senior brother activated another Mark 9 Mech to fight against Race's Mark 9, But had set the difficulty to the lowest. This time the enemy mech was not only telegraphing its attack, it was also much slower. Race thought that it was overkill. But he immediately changed his way of thought.
Race was bit overconfident that he waited for the last second to dodge the enemy Mark 9's overhead swing. Race able easily dodge the strike, except that he was unable to control the inertia/momentum of his mech. Race was out of balance, he nearly fell. the only reason he didn't get cut by the enemy mark 9 was because Magnus had set the difficulty to the lowest. Otherwise a Race, a legendary swordsman would have been struck down by a literal bot.

Race was barely able to bring his mech under control when the enemy Mark 9 was ready to swing again. This time Race decided to block the strike. This time to he was unable to perfectly control the power required. Though Race was able to block it, due to the excess power Race was unable to control his sword after the collision. He was wide open and if it was real battlefield, he would have been dead by now.
This time however Race was able to get his balance back much quicker than last time. The Bot mech had not even began winding up. Race could have taken an easy slash against the bot, but he decided not to. He had learn how to control a mech without any correction devices or software. He had to learn to control the mech just like his body.
