《Survival Story Of A Swordsman In A Post-Apocalyptic World》Chapter 13

Inside the building, around the same time that the two outside started fighting.
"My lord, what should we do now? Should we wait for reinforcements?" The three soldiers are currently facing the man called the lord in a triangular formation.
"Don't be ridiculous. This is a remote area. It'll take a few days for them to arrive here. But for now. Let's just tuck away in here. This room is fortified with magic so it won't be easily destroyed. There are also hidden doors for necessities like food. If we managed to hold on. Help will arrive soon and we'll be safe. For now. Just protect my family. That's your job for now."
"Yes sir!"
All the while they're talking. The entire building suddenly got covered by earth in a matter of seconds.
"What the?!" One of the soldiers exclaimed. The ground then suddenly breaks up and a short person came out. Someone who looks like a kid with a thin build and pale skin merely wearing casual clothing. Both his low knotted hair and eyes are black. Carrying an enormous and long sword as he goes out of the hole from below, while mid-air he sliced the three soldiers' heads off in one clean swing. However, his sword stopped before it severs off the lord's head. A tree trunk appeared between them both that stopped the blade's action as it sinks into it as the lord has a staff on his right hand with a green glowing orb at the top. A catalyst.
"Who the hell are you?!" However, no answer came back. The boy pressed four buttons at the grip of his sword using his thumb as if he enters a code and pressed it all simultaneously upon doing so with his four other fingers. Suddenly, the grip came out, and the enormous sword has a shorter version built-in on the grip itself that now is a dagger but quite wider than usual.
The boy then lunges and the man exclaimed internally. "What the hell? He's so fast!" Without any expression or hesitation. The boy chopped his arm upwards rendering his magic useless now with no way of using it. The boy then shoves him at a nearby wall with his shoulder and stabbed the tip of the blade onto his throat. "Dear…" The man mumbled with a weak voice after the boy pulled the blade out, the lifeless body of the man fell onto the ground while inevitably trying to stop the bleeding by holding on to his neck.

On the other side of the room though, is the family of the man that is currently seated onto an exquisite couch. His two sons young sons that look to be below the age of ten and his daughter that is almost the same age as the boy, who the lord happily chat about with another soldier which is now headless.
They witnessed the horror and screams faintly. The girl and the other two children ran towards their father's lifeless body and weep. Each second that passed it gets a little stronger. Until she finally shouts at the boy that's just standing there. Staring at her blankly. "Why?! Why do you have to kill my father?!"
"Because I need to." The boy replied with a cold voice and no expression whatsoever.
"You need to?! Why?!" The girl gritted her teeth after shouting loudly and began to embrace her lifeless father same as what the two other boys are trying to do since earlier.
"Because he's done some bad shit to us. You don't know what he's doing yet so I understand that he's a good person in your eyes."
"I don't know what my father did but…" as a loud explosive noise came from below and they paused but the boy answered.
"You think he doesn't deserve death. Is that what you're supposed to say?"
"..." The girl simply nods a single time as she's still hugging the corpse.
"Well… that same thing applies to us too. We don't deserve death but his dirty job makes us present ourselves at death's door. Whatever, you're still too young for you to know these things after all. It'll just mess up your mental health." He walks away and goes to the man's wife.
"Madam. I'm not planning on hurting any of you here now. So please don't do anything unnecessary as it'll simply cost you your life. I'll send you back in a week to the city along with all the corpses that could be recovered. Which are simply these four over here." He then walks away towards his blade that's stuck on the trunk and inserted the grip then pulled it out.

The woman is so shocked that she couldn't even move an inch or listen to those words. Her eyes are solely fixated on his husband's corpse.
Again, he walked away to another side of the room away from the weeping family and simply sat at the corner of it in a fetal position with his sword at his side and closed his eyes.
Moments later. He felt a weak kick on his leg repeatedly. He looked up and see one of the boys kicking him. "You bad guy! You hurt our dad! Look at him! He won't wake up because you hurt him!"
"I… hurt him?" The boy replied with a shocked tone.
"Yes! You bad guy!" And the mother suddenly came to him calling the kid's name out. "Leno! Hey! Don't do that! Come here! I… I don't want to lose you too okay? Don't hurt him… he might hurt you too if you continue to." As she carries him and caressed him. "You bad guy! I won't forgive you! I will never forgive you! You hurt my daddy!!!" The kid screams at the top of his lungs towards the boy who's currently silent and staring blankly onto the floor.
"I'm… Yeah. I'm… a bad guy…" as he remembered something in the past. It was in a burning village of some sort. He's carrying out a girl to save her from a burning house but she keeps hitting him on the back. "You bastard! You burnt our village but why are you saving me?!"
"Because you don't have to die yet! Don't worry… we will certainly take care of you..." With a blank face and widened eyes, he ran out of the house as the girl's atop of his shoulder.
"You and the shogunate are evil! All of you deserve to die!"
He snaps back to reality as the earth covering the entire building dissipates and a tall, muscular kid bursts through one of the windows.
"You bastard brother… you didn't even warn me about that guy…"
"Johan… you're seeking fun, weren't you? So… I purposefully didn't warn you how strong he would be…"
"Whatever, Yohan... What are these? Also... Why are you looking so pathetic over there?" Johan said comically.
"Don't hurt them… call the others over there to go here. Get your wounds treated. There should be a cradle of life on the second floor. You know how to activate it, right?"
"Yeah. Alright. I'll get back." Johan then goes out of the previous window he bursts through earlier to go out.
Yohan finally stood up and told them to follow him out of the building. They obediently did since they're scared of what might happen to them next and Yohan said out loud. "You'll be safe I promise. In a week. I'll send you back to the city as I said earlier. Along with those corpses for you to give them a proper burial and their families to see them."
They are still crying softly though but followed him. After they got out of the building. Many people greeted them on the way and assisted them. Those are the people previously seen on the field that massacred over fifty soldiers.

Guys I have edited the prologue and uploaded it after I uploaded the fourth chapter. Although the story hasn't changed much, I have tried to make it flow smoother. Added a few more details to the life of Aarav and stuff like that. Might wanna take a look at it. P.S. - Guys this is my first story. I am trying to learn English better but since I don't have enough money for books, courses or tutors, so your criticism and support will have to do. This is my first time, so please be gentle. P.P.S. - I selected harem in tags because generally people who like it tend to be more chill. Right now I have a rough sketch till the second volume and there are only two female leads.
