《Instant Practice》chapter 5

“Hey what was that you just said?”
After Saiph paused, the two stewards became anxious to know more about what happened next. Hearing that something entered this miner and yet he still lives, it was something strange. They can guess that the black slime maybe why this guy's face is deformed so much. However, they did not know what possibly that thing could be or if it may come out of this guy and attack them.
“Alright, I’ll tell you what happened”
Saiph made the decision, maybe because of his weariness, he did not completely think through what the consequences would be if he told them.
After telling them all about the black ooze, the two looked at each other and began to scrutinize Saiph. After a little while, they both noticed an aura, noticeably stronger than their own.
“Hey bear, that's-”
“Yeah, it's a rank 2 Mygan.”
The two began to talk to each other while looking at him, the greed slowly shining in their eyes.
Saiph began to feel like he made another mistake, so he decided to come clean about what he was thinking.
“So I'm willing to give you guys this thing, all I ask is you guys give me compensation, at least let me go to Azfar family doctors to heal my injuries, I always hear stewards complimenting their abilities”
One steward turned to the other, “lizard, what do you think?”
“There is no need to think about it, we’re the only stewards left in the village. So all the loot can be left for us. It's a pity though, that the head steward has been dead for a while so his aperture decomposed. We could have gotten the implanters had we come earlier.” lizard explained.
Bear nodded and looked at Saiph with malice. He slowly began to unsheathe his sword while lizard turned to go collect the loot.
“W-wait, you can't do this. I'm willing to give anything, in fact, I don't need any compensation anymore.”
“Heh, and how do you think we’re getting the Mygan in your head out?”
After fully unsheathing his weapon, the steward walked over while mocking Saiph.

Saiph could not believe his luck, it seems that being a country bumpkin really hurt him today. he began to grasp at straws and bargain for his life.
“No way, don’t you have the ability to implant and extract powerful body parts from animals and humans? I have always heard of it in the village!”
Saiph pointed at the bear’s arm, it was the arm of an actual bear, it is also why he was nicknamed. The skin was only visible at the palm, the rest of it was just thick hair. His nails were sharp and pointy, from just looking at them, one can tell that it can rip out a chunk of flesh easily.
“The Mygans you’re talking about have died with the head steward. Plus, your Mygan seems to be able to implant itself.”
Saiph heard of the word Mygans multiple times today, he has little conversation and contact with the stewards, but when they do interact, they usually don't mention the word. Though, from how the stewards use it, it seems to mean body parts that can produce abilities. But hearing what the steward said, Saiph immediately thought of something.
“Wait! If this Mygan can implant itself and I became it's master, doesn't that means I can tell it to extract itself also.” Saiph felt he may have found a solution to this mess.
Hearing this, the Steward stopped, he was curious if what Saiph said was possible. He never heard of any Mygan able to extract itself, or implant itself either for that matter.
Saiph tried his best to communicate to the Mygan inside him, he tried thinking of the hunger that came on him not too long ago. Surprisingly, he got a response, just that it wasn’t what he wanted, the Mygan Seems to be telling him that it won't leave its place.
Saiph was stumped on what to do next, he tried to think of ways to get out of this, but the only thing he had on him that could help was the pickaxe he’s been holding onto, it was something that gave him hope throughout this accursed day.

But he thought of the Mygan’s function, maybe that is where salvation lies. Closing his eyes and consciously bringing up the table he saw earlier. There he saw his body parts listed under the word “Mygans”. He now has more understanding of what Mygans are, which perplexed him why his body parts were considered Mygans. He quickly, however, let go of these distracting thoughts and focused.
The steward that was watching Saiph did not know why this miner closed his eyes, he was not worried though, to him, this guy was far too weak, exhausted, and injured to pose any threat. Plus, if what this guy was saying was true, then he can immediately implant it in himself, he doesn't need to sell it or share it with Lizard. This is why he decided to be patient for a minute longer.
In the meanwhile, Saiph was surprised about a change in the table from earlier. The points column, which was 0, now reads 98. He doesn't know much about mathematics, he was completely uneducated after all, but he was still able to get the understanding of that number like he did with the words, he understood that it was a big number. On the other hand, he was not sure how many points he would have to spend to use the Mygan’s ability
‘Well, I have to go all-in.’
He remembered that this Mygan allows him to increase his proficiency at using another Mygan, so he decided to put everything onto his right arm since it was his preferred one and it can help with swinging the pickaxe.
So he commanded the Mygan to put all his points into his right arm. All of a sudden, the dramatic change to his arm that he was hoping for did not happen, all he felt was that he could control it more accurately. He also felt that the Mygan has “weakened”, probably due to the usage of the points. Saiph would not believe that this Mygan would be so useless as to produce no tangible effect, otherwise, he would need to accept his fate.
However, after paying more close attention to his arm.
Saiph began to slowly feel like he can perfectly understand his arm, it's as though all its secrets were known to him. Secrets that he never knew of, even though he lived with his arm his entire life. But once he got this odd understanding, after this long day of misery and pain, he finally smiled. Because now he understands the potential of the Mygan in his mouth and what it can do for him.
He also slowly noticed something else that gave him a thrill, it feels as though the same thing has occurred to the other body parts, but to a weaker degree. Focusing to bring back the table of his statistics, he sees that his right arm has reached proficiency 96%. While his physical body parts; left arm, legs, torso, and neck, all have around a minimum of 50%, with some even slowly climbing higher. His internal organs on the other hand did not change.
Focusing on his entire body, he never felt such a degree of control, he felt like he could bring a lot more out of his body than ever before.
“Hey what are you doing!?”
The steward, who saw him smile with that broken mouth of his and make a sudden movement, was startled. None of Saiph’s actions were a cause of concern, he was confident to take him out whenever he wanted. But what made him worry was that the feeling of the rank 2 Mygan fading away.
Before he even reacted, it has already reverted into rank 1. He didn't know if Saiph was commanding the rank 2 Mygan to self-destruct somehow, as a final defiant act, but if he were to take such a precious item with him to the grave, then it would be a big loss.
He quickly ran next to Saiph, to quickly kill him before he destroyed it, hoping to get any scrapes of loot he could get.

Hi, this is my first novel because writing looks fun and I tend to be incredibly bored a lot. I don't know if I'm any good so please tell me what I'm doing wrong as a review Chapters will come out whenever I feel like a reponsible person PS: I am a very indescisive person so the synopsis will change a lot, have fun with that. PPS: I am terrible at writing synopsises. So I'm reading this a few years later and my god its shocking no one shot me in the head when I was younger. But uh, people have been DMing me asking if this story has stopped, which it has. (why was I allowed on the internet during my EdgeLord Phase, I don't know, but someone really should have stopped me) But thanks to all the people who read this, it really does mean a lot.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
