《Mystic Reality》Chapter 5 Selection

Ped’s POV
The guild house was three stories high with a tower that stood like five stories. It has a magnificent structure like a European type houses and a royalty designs on them. The door was 8 feet tall and it was an elegant, Greek styled, Red Oak door. I stood there and breathed before I enter the Adventurer’s guild. I was shocked as I saw the inside. Contrary to its elegant exterior, the interior was just like a tavern and a pub combined with a large notice board beside the reception area. There are a lot of people inside, I assume they are adventurers. I then proceeded to the receptionist and asked.
“Is this the guild house?” I said.
“Yes sir, welcome to the Adventurer’s Guild. How may I be of service?” the receptionist was an elf girl with aquamarine blue eyes and golden straight hair that reaches her back. She was wearing a red dress with a white shirt underneath and a white nurse hat.
“Uhm, I would like to apply to a profession fitting for an adventurer.” I said with a straightface.
“Do you have an emblem of the trainer who taught you the basics?” she asked.
I then reached my pocket and brought out the emblem. It was a pentagon shape brown wood with a carving of a shield with two swords intersecting behind it. I then showed the emblem to the receptionist.
“Here is the emblem of the Trainer Thomas Godfrey.” I said.
She looked at the emblem and then observed it. She took it from my hands and inspected the emblem as her eyes turned to gold. After inspecting, she closed her eyes and it turned back to aquamarine blue.
“It is authentic. Congratulations. My name is Diales. Please come with me to proceed to the next phase.” she said.

We then went inside a room inside the reception booth. It was an empty white room with a spherical glass floating in the center.
“The orb will tell you the best course of profession you are fitted the most. If the orb turned red, it means that your fitted to be a fighter. If it turned green, then you are fitted to be a viper. If it turned to blue, then you are a Magi. If it turns to yellow, then it means you are not suited for adventuring and should proceed to be a Binge. Well, good luck to you, Ped.” she said.
‘Wait, how did she know my name?’ It freaked me out. It is as if she can see through me like looking at my biodata.
“How did you know my name?” I can’t help myself and asked.
“The emblem said everything. I use my skill of Envision. It allows me to look at the past of anything I touched.” she said casually.
“Something like tha-” I blurted out the words in my mind unconsciously
“Yes? What is it?” she said
“No-Nothing.” I said. I sighed because I was lucky that she didn’t heard what I said.
‘Envision, what a useful skill. I wonder if I too can get that. It will be very reliable if I could learn something like that.’ I thought as she lead me towards the center of the room.
“As soon as I go out, please put your hand on the orb and say ‘I seek for thy guidance’ to activate its power. Then shout the word ‘Done’ but don’t remove your hand so that I could judge the color it emits for you to become an official adventurer.” she exclaimed.
“Th-that’s it?” I was shocked because it was so simple.
” Well there are a lot of paper works needed for your registration. But you can leave that to our side. We can fill it up using our skills and process it as soon as you are done in this room. You can receive your insignia a day after you performed the second phase.” she said.

“Insignia?” I asked with a puzzled look.
“Yes, insignia. It is a trademark of becoming an adventurer. It is a magical symbol embedded in your left shoulder. It will be removed if you decide to retire or you have been banned from the guild. It is also a ranking system based on the color of the insignia. The green ones are the color of the new adventurer. the yellow ones are the upgrade of green which means that the adventurers are now familiar of the monsters and situations outside. The proceeding color can be acquired with achievements. So here are the proceeding colors according to their rank. Blue rank, Red rank, Dark Brown rank, Copper rank, Silver rank, Gold rank and the rank of a hero, Platinum rank. These are the ranks present on the guild on every part of the world.” she said.
“The world? What do you mean?” I asked.
“The world we are living in is called Tulles. It was said that this planet was created by the Supreme God, the God of all the Gods. It was also said that this world was created with all races found in the universe. We are on the continent of Madrigal, the continent of humans. But it doesn’t mean that is exclusive only for humans, as a matter of fact, kingdoms around the world are led by each of the races.”
“Can you tell me the races found in this wor-” I was cut off from asking anymore question.
“We’re here. Now do what I told you earlier, okay? I will answer all your question after you finish here.” she said as she turned around and walked towards the door.
As she opened the door, she gives me a thumbs up. I gave her a smile before she exited. Then, I turned towards the Orb and approach it.
“I seek thy help.” I uttered as I laid my hand on the Orb.
Nothing happened.
‘Did I fail?’ I thought.
Then a faint light shone inside the Orb. The light intensified as time goes by. After around ten seconds. The whole room was surrounded with blinding light.
“AHH-” I tried to shout but something is stopping me.
As I tried to shout again, I saw something holding the Orb. It was a faint silhouette of a human, but I couldn’t see clearly. The light soon vanished in the whole room as it conjured a white silhouette. I was looking at a man literally made out of white light. Then, he spoke.
“Hello Ped”

Somewhere deep in the northern forest, there was a ruckus going on. Sounds of different kinds of monster could be heard. They were chattering nonstop when a figure stood upon a stump of a huge tree. A loud thud could be heard as he struck the stump with his mace. Every single monster fell silent due to the declaration of the creature of its presence.
“RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRR” the creature shouted a sharp cry.
“EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKEEEKKKKEEEEEEEKKKKKKK” the Kabogs also joined its cry.
“GWAARAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH” the Bakukangs opened its jaw and bellowed.
“UWEEEEEKKKKKKK UWEEEEEEKKK” the Ramos also made a sound.
After the whole cry of the monster, the creature pointed his mace towards the direction of the town Raflis. A thunderous cry erupted once again as the monsters mobilized and headed towards the town. They are attacking the town, or more approriately, to ransack and destroy the town.

Reaching for One's Desire: Kane's Ascension
After living most of his life as a worthless orphan, Michael Kane only desired for the chance to make something of himself in this world of monsters and magic. In a world where only wealth and power mattered, he was literally at the bottom of the food chain. He fucking hated it. Always having felt that he was destined for something greater than what was essentially a beggar’s life, Michael held hope that things would change with the arrival of the Day of Gaia’s Gift, which happened exactly halfway through the year. It was the day in which everyone that was fifteen years old was given access to the System and was given a ‘Class’ depending on your aptitude, two if you were exceptional and lucky. It was his hope that he was given at least one class worthy of becoming an Adventurer, which would help him start his path to a life of wealth, fame, luxury and pleasure. Being an orphan that never knew his parents and having no one that he cared for nor that cared for him, it was not surprising that these were Michael’s goals. Little does he know, that he is destined for even greater things.

Statless
Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...
