Prologue

"Sigh. All these new strategy games and none of them truly pose a challenge to the great me, what a sad age of gaming we have arrived in." Ray shrugged his shoulders as he calmly exited the store, casually rubbing his head. "12 stores and none of their games can even give me a good challenge, maybe strategy games have just reached their limit. Ah well, perhaps I could find a better game online."

An hour of walking home, followed by 10 seconds of surfing the internet later. Ray stumbled upon something that caught his eye. "Oooooo, what's this?!"

A game development company known as real world entertainment was looking for game testers for their latest project War of Aetheria, featuring battles with magic, strategy and good ol' swords. Not only that, but they even have different races with big advantages and disadvantages leading to each race having different strategies that work for them, allowing for a great variety of playability. "A most interesting concept, i suppose i could register and offer my expert advice. It would be interesting to see such a thing since a lot of games I've been playing only feature epic human battles."

After signing up, ray waited a few seconds before a message popped up on his laptop notifying him of his accepted beta test status as well as an instruction manual. "Haha, took them long enough. Let's take a look at this."

Getting Started

Welcome to the World of Aetheria young traveller, my name is Bob. I will be guiding you through the laws of this world.

Wonder who thought it was a good idea to give him the name Bob...

The World of Aetheria is split into 6 continents, each continent will have 1,000 factions from the different races. For example, one of the races being elves may be split into different factions some worshipping the sun god, some the moon and even the natural beauty of forest. The factions may be different but remember that ultimately they belong to one race.

The game functions like regular RPGs where you can level and learn skills, however one of the key features is that war between factions is impossible to avoid. Be prepared to run or fight, for this world is forever changing.

"THATS IT? No controls, no beginner starting help, only installation and world breakdown..."

Ray groaned as he plastered his hands into his face, god i hate games that make you find things out yourself, games like dank souls(Hah) are torture to me.

"But still, 6 continents with thousands of factions, sounds like a suitable challenger has arrived to fight against the great me! Mwahahahahaha!" With a sly grin and a new motivation for the future, Ray could only tremble with excitement as the game finally installed itself.

"Watch out world, here comes Ray, the god of strategy! Mwahahahahaha!"
