Bakugo awoke in the middle of the night from a horrible nightmare. In the ddream he was being tortured mercilessly. Bakugo heard a quiet whimpering. Bakugo looked over at Ember who was curled up in the fetal position shaking violently. He reached over and tried to pull Ember into a comforting embrace. The moment Bakugo touched her, images of torture and death flooded into his head. Bakugo jerked away from Ember and the visions stopped. Bakugo sat there breathing heavily as Ember continued to shiver. Bakugo shook Ember awake. "Ember? Are you okay?"
Ember shook her head and started blubbering. "I-I can't g-get away fr-from the memories." Ember mumbled.
"Shhh.... you're with me... you're safe." Bakugo pulled Ember into a protective hug and began to sing Safe and sound in a soft, husky voice. Bakugo stroked Ember's hair until she fell back asleep. He then curled up next to her and soon was asleep as well.
