Are you afraid of death? I'm not sure I am. I know Death and I'm not sure he will come for me. However, just because I'm not afraid does not mean everyone else won't be afraid.

However, I'm sure there are many more thing scarier than death. Like the fear of time. Do you know about the fear of time? It is quite scary you know?

Let me tell you about a story. It was during one of my serious encounter with Lilith.

For a time, the "leadership" of the ability holder manage to contain Lilith. They contain her because they are afraid of her. However, they wouldn't have been afraid of her if I hadn't told them about the truth. It was during the early day of my career you see. I was inexperienced. They were afraid of Lilith eating them in some far off timelines, how silly of them, in the end, Lilith puts everything back anyway.

To be honest, among the natural born Ability Holder, only I and Lilith can be considered moral, and even that is still in question. However, during that event, I contribute to Lilith's further mental deterioration.

They trap her you see, they trap her in an area of spacetime that all the toptier gleefully work together to make.

However, being trapped in that area of spacetime didn't stop Lilith, oh no, it just triggers her hunger further. sensing all the powerful abilities used to trap her.

Then, Lilith evolves, that is the only way I can say it. She becomes a kind of giant organism that destroyed that portion of spacetime, the more she grows, the more her sense extend, the more she can feel all the ability holders in the world. The more she can feel all the ability holders in the world, the more her hunger grow, the more monstrous she becomes, the bigger she becomes.

But oh no, that was not what is scary.

If you are scared of Lilith's form, you are scared of death, however, the fear of time is scarier.

Well, the previous world was powerful you know, even in the face of Lilith they can survive. Only for a time, but they can survive, they survive because they are afraid of death.

All the natural born ability holders run away. The campaign against Lilith continues. The world deteriorates into a living nightmare. But still, man struggles on, in a war for their and their children's lives. And yet they didn't know, what they was fighting for was for naught. The only thing the fighting did was prolong their suffering, the suffering of all the people who live on this planet.

People fought. People died. Resources ran out as attempts to contain Lilith failed again and again. Children starved in the last few base of humanity off in the star. Everything just disappear in a frenzy of madness and violence. Happiness disappeared. The universe marched on, 150 years. It took 150 years for the last remaining lives in the stars to be choked out in despair by an all consuming presence.

After the end of the 150 years, I confronted Lilith for the first time

"You can stop now" I told her.

I saw many things. I saw my family come and go. I saw my little sister who I treasure the most in this whole world disappear. I see other family torn apart. I see a man grown up only to join the meat grinder and never return. I saw suffering and despair. I saw 150 years passing by. I saw the human's race losing all of its hope. It was not just 150 years, since there was other like you who has time power too you know. There was thousand of iteration of the same thing happening. That is why I'm really annoyed by people with time power, it always depressed me probably because it scared me. I'm not scared of the power you know, I'm scared of time.

You have to be there to experience it goth chick. What the fear of time is like. Oh, and you need to be eternally unchanging like me and Lilith. Only then do you understand what the fear of time is like.

Shortly afterward, I lost the fear of time. It disappears from my mind just as it comes. Back then, Lilith was next to me. You won't believe me goth girl, a universe eating monstrosity was sitting next to me, crying.

In the end, only I was inedible.

After she finished crying next to me, time started turning back. I lost the fear of time because my power is pretty OP you know, but for Lilith, that fear is carved into her heart.

"So, in short, you shouldn't be afraid of death."

"Grghhh..."

Next to me is a soon to be corpse.

Instead of saying it outright in the beginning, I actually lure the goth chick to her certain demise, it is because she looks so afraid of death, so I decided to help her out. I help her out by grabbing her as Lilith was approaching the two of us and stopping the goth girl's time power in her track, not letting her get away.

And then Lilith took a giant chunk out of her, ensuring her demise.

However, before Lilith can finish her off, I shoo Lilith away

"You can stop now" For a moment, Lilith stops in her track.

Well, that big chunk is probably enough to sate Lilith's hunger. Since this girl is so afraid of death, the horror that was surely to come from Lilith is not what she deserves. Since I decided to help her, this is what I could do. To ensure that at least in death, she won't be that afraid.

After a while, as if heeding my warning, Lilith went away. I'm not actually Death, so I don't do that good of a job of comforting someone on Death's door. I told the goth girl a story while making sure to anchor her into this timeline so she can't run away and prolong her suffering any longer.

At her last moment, she was looking at me straight in the eyes. I'm not good at reading expression.

"You may think of me as cruel." I told her

"But the next moment when you wake up, everything is going to be fine. You will be in your bed, waking up to your normal life, with your friends who love you, and then you don't have to experience the fear of time. I don't actually know what it really is though, the fear of time."

As she took her last breath, time started to unwind. I'm not sure why Lilith has such a great timing, but time unwind at that moment. There was no one in my arms. I decided to go back to bed and take a nap.

They live, they die, they live again. Really, all of it is just absurd.

I gave up

That morning, apparently that team went to a different hospital due to a machine mishap.
