《Far cry: My life in a fantasy world as a gunslinger (Idea dump go to Far cry of an anti-hero for a more refine one)》Chapter 8: Near death experience of first time driving, reconnaissance and the indirect love confession.

I ask the carriage guards to take the wounded bandits to their destination and to take old man with them while I take one of them to enact my solo operation.
“Emily, it’s best if you come with them.”
“Mitsuha-san?...”
“I’ll be heading straight for enemy territory, you’ve done enough, I want you to come with them. No point getting yourself killed over things like this.”
“No…I…I wish to be by your side…You are hurt after all. It’s too early to say this, but…”She openly says, flustered red as much as a ripened tomato.
So this is the love route, I don’t really oppose this route since Emily is somewhat about my age and looks better than my ex-crush. Even more, she’s even accepting me even though I showed my rough side during the interrogation. However, I’m still not ready for things like that since I barely know anything about Emily.
“Why do you want to follow me to death? I’m merely a stranger, I may have tricks, skills and even saved these people, my profile is still a mystery. You don’t even know me, but yet you’re even planning to follow me to battle” I bluntly ask her.
“I…I” She stutters, as her eyes water even more and her cheeks get more flustered.
“Back from where I came from, I was treated as trash, I tried being kind and nice to them but in return, I was showered with hate and deceit. This was the reason for my loath to other human beings, I gradually accepted it to be the truth. I might have arrived here and even did a few good deeds, it still doesn’t change the fact that I’m too much of a bad guy. I besiege you to leave, I might create misfortune for others later, even more, if it’s because of pity…”
“I…I…”She stutters even more as two lines of tears drip down her cheeks.
I might have gone a little bit too far. However, knowing that this is merely a pseudo world, her love might not have been true anyway, I might be cuckold later on or even worse killed by this woman.
“It’s better if I go alone, all and all I might be an even worse person than these bandits. I’ll try to save the hostages, and
“NO! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE ALL THAT!...There is no way, there is no way you can be a villain…there is no way the man that comforted me during my time of distress can be a villain. Please let me be by your side, at least to repay you for the comfort you gave me.” With the two lines of tears continuously drips down, she pleas to me, hoping to remain by my side to aid me in battle.

Crap! I’m always a sucker for Bishoujos, especially earnest and the doggy eyes type. I reluctantly agree to her request. However, her task is only to protect the hostages coming out and to detect enemies around the complex.
With my approval of staying, Emily wipes away her tears and show me once more with her overly cute smile.
AH~ so cute!
Anyway, back to the story.
We pack up our luggage, hand the bandits to the guards and prepare for a tactical assault on the bandit compound.
From the intel I got, the bandits apparently took the guns and mistaken them for magical staves from a steam trunk somewhere random. Some of the weapons were already loaded and seeing the destructive application of the weapons, they took a few of them to use on raids and such. However since they don’t know how to reload, some of the weapons are then collected and will be sold later on. If I’m lucky, the weapons might still in pristine enough condition to work as backup arms. And so I make a second objective to secure weapons for usage.
AH~ This is going to be great and painfully hurt since I might get shot or stabbed due to the part that Emily might be too klutzy to care for herself. However, I plan to only let her guard the entrance to keep a safe exfil path.
After 30 minutes of packing up and preparing for our operation, we finally take off and part way with Kirara, Arthur and the other guards.
Since the sun is still on, it’s would be a problem if any of the bandits see us from the horizon, so I decided to teach Emily to drive, it’ll take a little bit more time to reach the bandit’s base, but it’s better to arrive late at night.
“Hey Emily, Would you want to learn to drive…”
“I do!” With glistening eyes, she immediately says yes, creating somewhat a funny scene from a slice of life anime.
So cute~
Somehow it wasn’t such a bad thing to be sent into this world.
We then take off. On the first fifteen minutes, I explain how the car usually works. I then explain how to operate it. After reaching a large meadow, I strap myself in and give the wheel to the inexperienced driver.
“Emily, go slowly for your first time. Shift the crutch first, to number 1…”I start to direct her.

Well, things don’t go as well as I thought. Emly screws up and sends the car flying through the earth dunes of the large piece of land. However, I’m able to safely divert and stop the car in time.
Of course, in the next minute, Emily throws up outside of the car window and of course, I’m left to take care of her.
Putting her on the back of the Humvee, I then give her some water and whats left of the fruity drink pack. Damnit, I wanted to have a drink too, but hey I should be a gentleman and take care of the sickly maiden right? Right?
Anyway, I then drive off to the sunset, due to the fact that letting Emily drive might get us killed and if we are to dillydallying anymore, we might lose the chance of saving the hostages.
But hell, it sure is cool to drive in the sunset down the horizon~. It feels peaceful in a way and diverts me quite a lot from my thoughts of killing those bandits if things are to escalate.
Chapter 9: Full of tactical assault
From the clock on the PDA, I notice that we arrived earlier than I estimated. Using what’s left of the sunlight, I then go on a recon session. Linking the car radio with my PDA, I then ask Emily to stay behind to keep an eye on the bandit that led us here.
Carrying an AR with collapsible stock, ACOG scope and 2 fast reload mags (the ones that I stuck together with duct tape I found) and a variety of sidearms which includes the m1911 with one extra mag left, as well as the two melee weapons of knife and a hand axe, then make my way to the camp on foot. It’s easy to spot the camp due to the fire from afar, finding an elevated spot from afar, I then try to recon for enemies.
Pulling out my pair of binoculars, I then carefully scan the surroundings of the town. Most of them seem to be carrying menial tasks such as setting up wooden defences and barricades.
From what I can see, I can easily make a plan to distract and infiltrate the compound, since the number of bandits stationed here isn’t that many.
I must avoid any confrontation with them to not get ganged upon by their masses. Then I’ll make it to the hostage confinement and try to extract the people one by one. I hope that one of the attributes God gave me was stealth, since killing them will somewhat leave a bad taste in my mouth and even more on the fact that they are human beings.
I value life…ish
I then radio back to Emily, asking her to keep watch over the surrounding while I solo through with the plan.
“No, it’s dangerous to go alone…Please, I told you before, I wish to accompany you on this quest and I would rather go and help rather than staying here.
“Yeah yeah, I know what you mean, but it’s a stealth mission, your armour is going to give our position away and it’s too heavy for you to move around. I saw your fighting style during our attack on the bandits, it was too crass and had a lot of exposure to your movement. My armour is lightweight and barely make any sounds, and from the Intel, we got from the guy, these Bandits might have “guns” as well. It’s a problem if we are to be spotted, your armour can’t protect you from the bullets neither can I…Listen, you’re important to me, you saved me twice…so please stay in the car, Emily.” I sincerely say to her.
The radio then turns silent for a while, so I’ll figure that she’s either touching herself due to my overly suggestive phrase or she’s fantasizing about me violating her…which I would want to do if I wasn’t so terrified of women.
“Alright Mitsuha-san…please, be careful...and promise me you’ll come back…” She says.
“…I’ll comes back, and I’ll bring those people back.” I confidently say to her.
Despite, I’m successful of keeping Emily from harm, I might have screwed myself over with the solo infiltration thing. And worst, I don’t have to recover health like in an FPS game. This is going to end well.

Naturally, it features very overpowered characters with a lot of high stakes battles roaming across the cosmos. Warning: Swearing, some suggestive sexual gestures/words, gore. Feedback is highly welcomed. (The story was originally named, God's Return, but I wanted to change it.)
