《Dungeon of books》Kobold king: The Mines Vol.1 - Chapter 5

I rub my imaginary hands together in anticipation of what I’m going to do. I hold onto an imaginary breath, then think to activate book creation.
Book Creation activate
. . .
Sensing intention to build a Demi-plane
. . .
Amount of divine energy use
Yeah, how much should I use? Taking a quick guess, each divine energy used in the creation would impact how big the demi-plain gets. So after thinking about it for a while, I concluded that I don’t want a small world, I also don’t want to use all my divine energy, so I have decided that I’ll use 2 divine energy, after my selection a new window pop up.
2 Divine energy has been chosen
. . .
Demi-plain area is 37.5 cubic kilometers
. . .
Creating
I suddenly felt a pop sound, not hear, but feel. Turning around I can see my core book has let out 2 giant golden orbs, each orb was as big as a full-grown man curling up and is as bright as the sunlight. The orbs did not feel overbearing they had this sense of life to them, this sense that it would let you grow on your own, but it also was cold in an odd sort of way, the cold felt as if you were kicked out of the house to live on your own, But just as soon as they appeared they fused into one with and even brighter glow that forms a book in its wake.
When the book fell to the ground I was honestly puzzled cause I didn’t feel any different. I took quick a look at the book, but from all forms and avenues, it just looks like a brown book without a title. However, when I got close enough, I felt the feeling, a feeling as if I was invited into the book but before I could completely connect with the book, we had an intruder bar my path.
“Wow, that was your book creation skill,” Akasha says as dazzled by the light show as I was.
Yes, though it feels like any other book from the outside, I respond with a puzzled tone.
“Yes, it would seem that the way you reacted you don’t have the mana sight skill, though to me it is like a mini sun that wants someone or something to use it. Though even now the mana that your producing dwarfs it.” She remarks more focused on the book than I. Akasha then reaches out a finger to touch the book but from about an inch away a golden lighting bolt strikes her as if in defiance. This golden lightning bolt which was unassuming had a lot of power, ending up sending her flying into the barrier.
I laughed out, Man you must be shocked, by that outcome. By that time she has already stood up with a huff and walks back over to my core book to continue deciphering the script though it doesn’t look like she has made many breakthroughs that helps her solve any of it yet.
My mind now fully back on to the book, I tried to immerse my mind into the book like I was doing before Akasha got involved. When my consciousness came close to the book I felt it wanting to suck me in, but there was no malicious intent involved, it was as if a child was wanting to show you something, so I went along with it.
When my mind made its way into my book a was shocked to discover I was in a place, a place that was stretchy and malleable that was surrounded by the nothingness. In this place, I felt strong, stronger than I have ever felt before. My mind drifted with the bubble, I felt as I could change the bubble as I wished, It even wanted me to change it. Though I knew in my consciousness that if I wanted to start building, I would have to make a plan.

I delved into my mind, I did not want to build a death trap because I knew I would never be happy with the result. So I decided to make it like the stories I have read. Each book being its own mini-world with plots and secrets. I could even feel the bubble giving me approval with the idea, it didn’t want to be a place full of death but wanted to be a place of hardships and trials. Even though I could feel that I could force the bubble to my will I had already decided to make a story with the world I was given.
So I started to think about what should my first world be like, how should it be difficult, and what secrets could I hide within the world. After just thinking for a while it hit me, I wanted to build the story of a king, not just any king but a king of a weak race like the kobolds, and with his leadership, they would rise to greatness, he would spend his time finding more ways for his kin to evolve and change because for his kin he would do anything for their progress. Yes that is perfect, though he didn’t have enough room with this bubble for it to become a whole kingdom that does not mean I can’t split it up into different books, or maybe I can enhance the bubble with more divine energy but that’s for future Umbra to think about, now it is time to build.
He brought his will to create a crater, the crater was so steep on each side that it was like a cliff, though on one side of the crater he made a heavy incline downwards where it is possible to walk up and down. At the end of the incline where the bubble ended he decided to try to make this one of the ways out of the demi-plane, the bubble, no it was a plane did give him confirmation in some way that his plan would work. Now going back to the bottom of the crater he decided a mini-forest would look good, but before he could place some trees down the demi-plane sent him a type of tree to populate the mini forest with. The trees that were shown to him were big tough trees that were about 15 meters tall on average. Each tree had deep roots witch caused me to have to make the crater’s dirt a thicker wasting some of my space, but it just felt right to do. When I was placing down some trees, I found an area that I wanted to make a lake in, so I just dug out a hole, for now. I already had some plans for the lake forming in my head. After I finished placing all the trees and grass, this crater area still felt wrong somehow, then the plane talk to me again on how it could fix the area If I gave it my power which I was willing to do. Once I gave my power to the plane it then used it is a large wave that covered everything, then I knew what was making it feel wrong, It look too artificial, to man-made, what the plane did was not only spawn small animals and birds but also made everything look as if it was grown here as if everything was completely natural. Though I then started to wonder how did the plane gain the ability to spawn animals, it was not as if there were just harmless animals here either cause there were wolves also. Ah, I thought, it probably just used my monster creation ability to populate this forest, though I know it meant no harm, I just had to be careful when letting people or just demi-planes use my skills from now on.

As I was about to start work on the mines, the part of the area where the main challenge would be. In the mines I would have kobolds mining for resources for the rest of the kobold kingdom. But I soon realized I was out of mana, so what was I supposed to do? Just wait? I then realized that all I could do was wait. The plane understanding that its stunt used all of his mana wanted to apologize, but in response, I say that it is ok and I’m fine cause I prefer it to look natural. So just like that, I waited for hours just sitting there viewing the animals. A few times I popped out to talk to Akasha but soon realized she was too invested in her work to care, so I just waited. As soon as my mana was restored to full I was enthusiastic to start working on my world again. If I had a face people would be able to see that I had the same eyes as Akasha when she sees something interesting.
I then started work on the mines, I made the mines rugged and uneven. As if amateurs started digging it. The mine’s tunnels were more like a maze than real mines, there were many dead ends and a few led to chambers underground, one of these chambers would hold a completed fort. Though the fort was small it was still a fort. Ignoring the fort, for now, I started working on some side chambers. The side chambers are at the end of some of the diverging paths, though he only had enough room for 2 chambers cause he had been giving each wall in the cave at least 1 meter of thickness, with some areas having some more. One of the chambers was a nest for a creature that he has yet to decided on. Though the next chamber contained a ruin with a collapsed entrance. If a party cleared the rubble they would be able to fight the guardian of a treasure in the ruin, I have yet decided on this one either. After he was done he gave his power back over the plane, to make it all look a bit more real, it added animals, difficult terrain, and a realistic cave wall and roof, with the little extra space, the plane increased the thickness of all the mines tunnels, but one thing it did catch my eye more than anything else, it made ore deposit which I had completely forgotten about in my haste. The plane did not spawn in monsters cause it knew that Umbra wanted to do it. Like last time all my mana used up, but this wait felt even longer cause the best part is coming up, monster creation. When I finally regained all my mana again I decided to get to work on the kobolds. You may be wondering why didn’t Umbra just portion his mana and use the same amount he regained that is because he just didn’t think about it, he was too hyper-focused.
For the regular kobolds, he gave the standard standing up lizard look, but for the scale colors he decide that most of the color range will be between dark brown to dark orange, he then brought up the status regular kobolds would have

Alright maybe they’re not the best in the world but they’re good for a basic mob, let’s just see what the skill Pseudo-Dragon scale does.
Skill
Pseudo-Dragon scale
[Passive]
A skill for those who are distantly related to dragons but didn't gain their scales. Provides slight physical resistance and slight magical resistance
*Verient due to race*
Scales are significantly weakened
All I can say is that I am disappointed with them, I had thought they would be stronger, though I have an idea where to place them, I will place them in the highest points of the mine with a higher variant somewhere to watch them but I will also put some in the forest area exploring and hunting for food. Though It’s time to move on to the next type of kobold, with this kobold I try to make them better in every way slightly taller, more compact muscles, faster, and last of all more intelligent.

Well, they are better I will have this be my main unit on almost every floor right after the highest level of the mines, I will have 1 high kobold with each group of kobolds. Then after that, I will have it be all high kobolds on lower levels of the mines, But I guess it could not hurt to make a higher form of evolution. By the way, what does the letter mean I have seen it both times? Who cares. Time to move on to the next evolution of the kobolds! In this evolution I took the high kobold as the template. With that I increased the height from around 5 feet to around 6 feet, made the scales as hard as I could, condensed their muscle into a fast yet strong form. And from my hard work, but before I could continue I felt something inside of the creature react, their blood boiling. It changed him even further giving him wings and better physique, and his status pops up for me to see.

Oh, this is your doing I laugh out loud at the beautiful creation in front of me, this was the boss. In the background, I can feel the plane smile at me proud, of their achievement. Well, I know where this is going straight down to the fort but before I do so I’ll name him Fus cause he is the force at the bottom of the mines, I give him the order to defend the fort. I will give him an army to use later on, but now going back to my design for the 3rd evolution of the kobolds, I regive back all the features, but this time I make sure not to boil the blood, and his status turns out to be.

I start Laughing evilly, yes my creations grow stronger. The same with the previous high Kobolds. I slowly mix them in until there is only drakekin on the lowest area of the mines, and 50 of them go to Fus to follow the command of guarding the fort. I can’t wait to move on to the special monsters in the other areas, I then realize I am out of mana again.
Even from far away the system still hears Umbra cursing at him for the lack of mana, but just like last time the system did not give a shit.
