《Dungeon of books》Duel Conclusion - Chapter 17

POV - Sylmare
It took a couple of seconds for me to realize that the Death knight was charging at me, with excitement rolling off of him in waves. Seeing his excitement, I guess it is from the gravity ball I shot at him in my anger. Though with the anger now cleared from my head I realize how much of a blunder that move was. I just condensed my affinity into an attack and wasted all that mana, instead of that I could have done several other actions that would be more cost-effective.
While thinking about the failure that my previous actions have been. I almost forgot I was in a fight, but the Death knight getting too close brought it back to my attention at a blinding speed. I prep my legs to take a quick jump back, when just a few meters away from me, the Death knight disappears again. Likewise, I presume that he teleported behind me once more, so I dive forward, hoping to get out of range of his hand axes. I whirl my head around just to find that he had come from above, not from behind, crushing the ground under him. That does not matter to me now that I have gotten away from him. If I'd tried to block the attack, though, I would have been severely injured by now. Due to the simple fact that I didn't know where he was. I need to work on that because if I were to have stayed ignorant of his position like that during a clash it would be the end of me.
With that in mind, I must get a better grip on the skill [Gravitational Presence Sense]. How the hell am I supposed to do that in a fight, I'm not a legendary hero or a demigod that can learn things by just looking at it. Fuck, I’m getting distracted again. The Death knight is right, I have to keep my head in the fight, instead of going off on these tangents in my head. So with that said I should go back to focusing on the Death knight.
The Death knight, still in his excitement-fueled Rampage, doesn't realize I was on a tangent like his more calm-headed self. So instead of waiting for me to finish my thought like a gentleman, he just charges toward me again. With the distance between the Death knight and myself already so close, it would not take long for him to reach my range. I prepare myself and [Imbue] my sword with gravity magic, this time not to change the weight of the blade, but to instead give it an ability. My so-called specialty and the thing that made me an A rank adventurer.

The Death knight reached within my range using his ability to travel short distances in a blink, which I still believe to be the ability blink. With that, I lash out at a speed that is far beyond what I have shown before. Yet the Death knight with the ease of a leopard deflects it with his ax. I give him a slight smirk as he gets affected by my specialty. Every single scratch, poke, or even a slight touch from my sword when it is imbued like this will increase my opponent's gravity by 1.1 times, and it just continues to stack.
The Death knight seems to feel nothing is wrong yet and is continuing his attack. I take a quick side hop to dodge him and stab out several times with my rapier. The Death knight with his excellent martial skills easily deflects most of my strikes, but that is not the point. The point is to increase his gravity even more. After nine strikes, though, I can see the Death knight coming back with more rational thoughts. So even faster, I swing my sword towards him, even going as far as making my sword lighter.
By the time the Death knight has realized that he is increasing in weight, I have already gotten another 6 attacks, even though all have been deflected. Before my seventh strike could hit him, he blinked 12 meters away from me. The ground that the Death knight is now standing over is cracked and indented.
“I seem to have let my excitement take the better over me.” The Death Knight, embarrassed, continues, “I've also paid for it now.” The Death knight raises his arm into the air then lets it fall again, “The gravity now affecting me, how heavy it is… I believe it is now at least 4 or maybe 5 times stronger?” He lets out a long sigh, “My instructor even told me that my over-enthusiasm will get me killed.” With a suddenness that surprises me he raises both his hand axes and gets into a stance that I have never seen before, “Though If you think you have won just thanks to your trick, you’ll be sorely mistaken.”
With his final words spoken, he slashes out with his ax into the air. I'm expecting to see the air shatter again, I get prepared to dodge, but instead of all that fancy shit happening, I just get slashed vertically across my chest. This causes me to step back as while he is standing over there I still got slashed. It was not like a blade aura slash, but more like he just teleported the impact of the blade to my body. What type of bull shit is that! I know what I did might be bull shit, but what he did was 100% bull shit! What type of drugs are teleporting slashes!

I try to calm myself down, but all I manage to do is push the anger down and suppress it. So this is the legendary power of a space affinity user, I wish someone told me that their powers were bullshit. No anger, stay down, I need to focus. So I can’t stay at a range thanks to the teleporting slashes, so I have to get close and continue to stack my gravity-enhancing slashes.
Just like I have planned within my head, I lighten myself and charge forward. Yet, before I could even make it halfway between us, I got slashed again, this time diagonally across my chest. This time I continue to charge forward hoping for him not to land another free hit on me, which I was successful. I prep my blade to strike him once more, a movement of my whole arm swinging forward about to slash him, but with a single blink, the Death knight moved slightly to the side. Since I already put too much force in my blow, this caused me to lunge forward also leaving my side completely open. The Death knight did not waste this opportunity and swung both of his axes in a pincer-like move. I tried to lighten my weight and take a side hop to get out of range, but with him using teleporting slashes, I was cut deep.
I was able to keep from collapsing onto the ground, but I was barely standing at this point. Furthermore, I wasn't even able to keep up my extra gravity on the Death knight, allowing him to move freely again. The Death knight, with his newfound freedom, rotated his shoulders around. Fuck, I curse in my mind, knowing that the only treasure that can get me out of this situation is a teleportation artifact in my ring. I don’t know if the Death knight can stop my teleportation, because I never once thought I would fight a space affinity user
The Death knight walks over, expecting him to finish me off. I close my eyes, and instead of me feeling a slash that will finish me off, all I hear is, “That was a wonderful fight! May we fight again some time.” I peek open my eyes to see that the Death knight is raising his hand out to me, wishing for me to shake it. “I haven’t had a fight like that for a long time, so thank you. I must say sorry, though, I did not take you seriously in the beginning.” He continues in a jovial tone that leaves me befuddled. I awkwardly grip the hand he raised just to be shaken around. “May we fight again”. With that, the Death knight takes his hand away from my hand and turns around to leave.
Watching as the Death knight walks away, I see him trip on a hole in the ground causing him to stumble and almost fall, but before he does, he rights himself and continues. All this does is leave me even more confused. I take an Ultra Rare rank healing potion out of my spatial ring to heal myself. After getting fully healed from the potion, I think about the battle we had and about why he just walked away. All this thinking drew me to one conclusion, that he is an idiot.
I look around to see the newbie adventurers coming, overlook around as if to spot the Death knight that walked away. I let out a huge sigh just thinking about how I still have to look for this practically non-existent dungeon. Likewise, I stand up and walk over to the rookies. “Do you have any ideas where this dungeon could be?” I say just feeling tired over everything that happened.
“Wait, that's the first thing you're going to say.” The Priestess asked, looking honestly confused about my train of thought.
Though, before the Priestess could ask another stupid question, the Paladins says while pointing, “That's the hole where we found the Dungeon.” I follow his finger to the hole that the Death knight tripped on.
Seeing the hole, I take a quick look around, seeing nothing but a barren wasteland. I feel the anger of all that has happened rise up again, and I yell, “This is it… How the hell am I supposed to build a town here!” I feel even more anger at everything that has happened, “First a Death knight! Now an empty plane that holds a hole for a dungeon town to be built around! Like come on, the Dungeon could not even feel like building up a good entrance.” I feel steam shooting off of me as I am ready to throw more of my anger at the Dungeon.
