Chapter 22 : night ambush

It was night and twinkling stars were twinkling in dark sky. Moon was hanging while smiling , world seem to be gone silent and there seem to be nothing but predators everywhere , waiting for their prey in night.

Sitting under a tree , nanashi had crosslegged and his right palm was placed on his left palm , their tip of thumb were touching each others. Eyes were closed and he was in meditation state.

Around him were tiny tiny sparkle of fires flying and surround around him. His whole upper body was naked while he was focused in comprehending the law of fire essence.

Those flames sparks were touching his skin but instead of burning them , they were going inside his skin. They were merging inside his body , but nanashi was having great difficulty in fusing fire essence in his body because of his water essence that he had fused with his body.

His body had almost turned into water because of him only cultivating water essence.

"Zzz" he found out that to open his next meridian point , he needs to circulate his qi in to his every single 361 meridians points and channel them directly to the sealed one. Instead of gently , he needs to force it.he decided to open his 362nd meridian point that was located in his heart .

With this , his cultivation speed would grow and become more stabilized and profound. Heart is also one of the important point in cultivation.

From far away , while cooking some meats and mushrooms in the wok and stone oven that was recently created , those disciples were watching him.

"What is senior brother doing down there ?" One disciple couldn't help but ask. Another disciple replied " what do you think ? Maybe comprehending the law of fire. Or may be absorbing the essence of fire."

Chenqi also watched nanashi and felt very strange. While Chen mei was also confuse.

After a while, nanashi opened his eyes and nodded . He was in deep though " so the meridians that I will open would give me extra strength and make me more powerful. It is like the more the gate opens , the more will I have open path to walk. "

Suddenly everyone that were watching nanashi and even himself felt as if they are being glared by someone.

"Brother yang , do you feel that someone is glaring at us ?" A disciple that was standing with Chen mei and group asked.

The man name brother yang replied with cautious " not only me , I think everyone are feeling the feeling same me and you. Am i right ?"

Everyone nodded , Chen mei frowned " looks like we are in someone's surveillance range. Be careful. I feel killing intent and blood thirst. "

" wild beasts " Chenqi looked around and felt a very strong killing intent too. Nanashi stood up and picked his fan and umbrella. Than he slowly but calmly walked as if he didn't noticed anything.

Closing his eyes , he used [ master skill ] art , his sense intent spread around , covering the area of 300 meter in diameter.

Damn !! More than 200 night wolves.

He sensed more than 200 night wolves around that were keeping watch at them. Night wolves were just like their name. They were from yin beasts kind. Even their average size of body would be same size as donkey while mature and adults would be size of horse or elephants.

Yin , yes , night wolves were from yin origin. Their strength are strong when they face against humans. Even in their birth , they would have strength of a mid stage warrior same as human. So when a human faces night wolves at the same level in the night time , they are only asking for death. Of course , they are being referred to humans.

And according to nanashi , he felt that even the weakest in the group of those night wolves were late stage warriors and strongest were at least early stage master.

A grade 3-9 yin beasts. It means their prowess were at leat enough to kill late stage masters while even able to face against peaks stage master.

Reaching near the groups , nanashi acted calm. But he said " be careful , we are in danger. No one will separate from the groups. " he saw the meats that was being cooked in wok. He frowned " who cooked the meat here ?" He didn't notice at first because he was in deep thought before. But now when he saw the meat getting cooked , he was truly angry.

Who the f'ker would cook meats in the middle of forest at night time ?

Don't you know , you mf'ker that cooking meat in the middle of forest is only inviting the danger ?

One disciple hesitated for awhile before replying " it was…it was me senior brother . Did I do something wrong ?"

Nanashi turned to look at the man , he was not tall neither short , he was average in looks. Nanashi smiled calmly and asked " what is your name junior brother ?"

He was calm and gentle because of that no one knew what he was thinking. They even thought that he was gonna praise him.

The man replied " my name is song zai, senior brother " nanashi nodded and said " good , you have done good thing. I am happy. I will remember you " he smiled more widely.

When he said I will "remember you " , it wasn't praise but it was more like " just wait , I will remember you and pay back for what you did ".

But watching his gentle expression , everyone didn't notice his ulterior motive and even thought he was satisfied.

Chen mei said " let's focus on important business for now " everyone looked at her and nodded.

Nanashi walked to the wok and bend a little. Watching the meats getting boiled in wok , nanashi sniffed.

Everyone were slowly rolling their eyes from corner to corner , they were keeping watch.

Growl~

Hearing those growl from darkness ,those weak disciples were shaking in fear. Some couldn't help but fall down because of their trembling weak , tofu like legs.

Nanashi acted as if he didn't saw anything. But he was also extremely cautious.

But keeping himself calm will only help him , if he were to act rashly than he would only be calling for death.

Chen mei acted as if she didn't notice anything and slowly moved her hand toward her sword.

While those disciple that were still standing also moved their hands to their swords , but their actions were very obvious.

Nanashi gentle stood up and said nothing. Closing his eyes , he inhaled deep breath. He hid his right hand behind his back and stood there with his legs in "v" shape. Like a military soldier , his stance was very firm and discipline.

Everyone encircled him , one of the female disciple asked " senior brother , do you think that those beasts that are hidden in darkness would attack us ?"

Nanashi didn't replied.

Chenqi replied for that disciple " junior sister fengki, don't worry , there are us and seniors with us , so nothing will happen."

"Thank you senior brother Chenqi " the female disciple name fengki said.

Chen mei also took her sword and got on her stance , she looked around and said " those that are weak and under late stage warriors form a strong spiritual barrier . While those that are in late stage warriors , come forward and try to protect those that are forming spiritual barrier."

Just like she said , those that were below late stage warrior formed a sphere shape spiritual barrier while those with late stage warrior came forward to protect them.

There were few late stage warrior disciples while other were all the weak ones.

Chen mei looked at nanashi and said " shall we start ?"

Suddenly nanashi opened his pairs of eyes and grinned like a devil. Nodding very slowly , he leaped in the sky , reaching almost the same height as those huge trees in the forest , he inhaled long breath and twisted around like a twister.

With that , he spat huge water waves from his mouth.

"Boom" because he was spinning around , the water from his mouth also twisted like a twister and attacked every directions.

But when his water exploded after reaching the land , Chen mei waved her sword while crying out loud " ice sword style : bewitching frozen shard "

"Creak" slowly slowly , those huge waves of tsunami left behind by nanashi's water explosion started to freeze.

From bottom to top and tip , those all huge sea like water was completely frozen , leaving only ice behind there.

Right now they were surrounded by ice hill , when those disciple saw those , they felt happy and cold .

"Senior brother , senior sister ,did we succeed on defeating them ?" One disciple asked while showing excited smile on his face.

Nanashi landed on the ground and replied him " not yet , those night wolves were too clever. Turning themselves into dark smokes , they fled , so be careful. They are still around "

"What ?" Everyone were stunned . How can those night wolves survive the combination attack that was demonstrated so perfectly and beautifully ?

If one had to look carefully , the attack froze the 200 meter in diameter area. But nanashi said ,not even one was killed in the attack.

Wasn't that joke ?

Everyone became more alert.

War between beasts and group of humans were brewing…..
