《Sonata Jackson: The journey of a female soldier》Chapter Nine: Wargames

Sonata and the Fifth Special Forces Group had the honor of being in some wargames with the First Special Forces Group and there called "Wolverines" and they had to go into an area of the forest and there miles from civilization where the nearest town is the town of Lumber and that's thirty-seven miles south.
The task of the Fifth Special Forces Group is to "destroy" the First Special Forces Group ammo cache and they'll switch sides. But the catch is that if everyone in the Fifth Special Forces Group is caught then they lose that round and have switched sides.
Sonata was "looking forward" to it and can't wait until she gets shot by a rubber bullet but she'll know it'll sting and probably feel like every rioter felt after getting shot by a rubber bullet. Sonata then quickly remembered that the police well the police in her town have U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30 M1's, Carbine Caliber .30 M1's, and Submachine Gun, Cal .45, M3's and those are used for crowd control.
Sonata kept thinking and told herself that she doesn't want to be deployed during a riot not because soldiers have live ammunition and fixed bayonets mostly the M1 Bayonet a twenty-inch and an M2 Bayonet a twenty-two-inch bayonet. But not adding even though busy with military life but she heard about the racial riot in Las Adventure between the city's Chinese and Japanese citizens that had the city 1169 police, 35 SWAT/ESU, 2,054 Island Patrol and later 5500 Paratroopers backed with APC's from the 39th Airborne Regiment had to quell it.
Sonata then walked around but found an old tunnel that was built in 1931 a few days after the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. The only reason was a precaution in case they got drawn into another foreign war which they did in early 1940 with WW2 in Africa and throughout WW2 and in '42 in the Pacific campaign.

Sonata kept on going in the tunnel but she had a flashlight and turned it on but she kept an eye out for traps that were set in 1942 and were still there but she just kept on going but she was scared thinking she was going to step on a caltrop or step on a tripwire with some old fragmentation grenades which been hanging up for fifty-one years. After all the tunnel was abandoned in 1945, reused during the Korean War, abandoned in 1953 after the Korean war, and reused partially during the Vietnam war then officially abandoned in 1969 permentally.
The tunnel made her claustrophobic even though she doesn't suffer from claustrophobia not adding she got scared when a rat ran past her and went over her size six and a half combat boots.
Sonata kept on going in the dark tunnel but unknown to her that all besides her in the Fifth SFG were already caught and they were just looking for her. But unknown to her most members of the First Special Forces Group were trained as trackers and hunters in their youth due to they usually recruit members from the countryside.
But they're all trained in and with urban combat, jungle combat, how to work with artillery, how to work with heavy equipment, how to work with crew mounted weapons, protect themselves from Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Radiological, and Nerve Agents, how to work with heavy machinery, trained in artic warfare, desert warfare, and air battles.

Ten minutes later.
Sonata got out of the tunnel and found herself near the First Special Forces Group camp and she found it unguarded and she just strolled right in.
***
A few minutes later there was an explosion and blue smoke and Sonata was a phantom to the First Special Forces Group due to she went under them but the captain for the First SPG asked how she did it and she replied that she used an abandoned tunnel.

The captain of the First SFG said that it was cheating.
Colonel Dwight Waterson replied, "In war, the only rules are that you can't shoot medics, can't torture and can't do inhumane things to P.O.W's, can't target civilians, and can't use chemical & biological weapons. There are no rules saying someone can't or can use tunnels or sneak around or them not fight fairly. Also, where is it written in life that life is fair? Your parents may have been fair to you but my parents it was my parent's way or the highway and taking the highway usually got you fucked up. Just accept that you lost so we can continue. If not Lieutenant General Lucian Harmon the Fifth will gladly replace you and the First SFG with the Second SFG or the Third or Fourth SFG's."
The captain didn't like it but they continued with the wargames in which the others were protected where one acts as a VIP and the other's defends said person while the other group got to stop them. But they were issued rubber bullets.
The sergeant told Sonata that the rubber bullets will sting and leave marks not adding they always get pelted alive by rubber bullets not adding the X16s they have are issued with fifty-round magazines filled with rubber bullets.
They then decided to just spread out into four manned teams and more or less went random ways and that got the First SFG to chase them.
The wargames lasted for a few days. But Sonata never thought she would've gotten shot by rubber bullets even though they hit her leg it still hurt like hell. Sonata just thought about taking a nice long bubble bath until she remembered she was still in the Armed Forces not in civilian life.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.

Greg Veder vs The World
The average person can easily understand that when it comes to living in a villain-infested, crime-filled city like Brockton Bay, treating life like a game can get you killed.
