Ogun remembered the days when he was young, chasing the thrill of a good fight and a challenge. He sat in the boxer lounge surrounded by pretty women and other nobles in high spirits and giddy. He sat around a bunch of drunk fools, none of them understood Ogun and all they cared about were two things. Money and fame, as he sat between all the activities he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up to notice his brother with a large smile on his face and his usual squinted eyes. “Brother, why are you not celebrating with the rest of us? You have a big match tomorrow to defend your title.” Ogun rolled his eyes and hit his brother's hand away, “Jabari, why would I get drunk and overindulge before my match?”
Jabari laughs and motions around, “the people are here for you, and you act as if you can even lose. Your opponent is some no-name street rat, you got this in the bag.” He said twirling a vial in his hand, a red liquid substance can be seen in the vial. Ogun hated spike, he hated how popular it had become not just in the kinetic boxing scene but even with nobility and other Baragoians. He wished he could just fight man to man, he missed the days of fighting fair and challenging himself. He clenched his fist and sighed, joining his brother and the others for drinks, as he remembered the easier days. After the others got drunk and the partying ended, Jabari and Ogun were the only ones left. His brother was seated with his hands together, his rings showing, and Ogun was able to take a good look at the man he called his brother.

Ogun was in the ring with a much bigger opponent and a man who wears the championship belt. A man known only as Thrasher, the reigning champion for almost a decade, he came in quickly with a hook, Ogun dodged and went for a counter. His fist harmlessly bounced off the man as Ogun could see his opponent's psychic armor was now visible. As he saw the man had black spiked armor with deep red undertones, he smiled and motioned for Ogun to strike. Ogun, feeling offended by the display, winded up and delivered an explosive uppercut, feeling the spikes pierce his hands.

He screamed and winded back and punched him again, Ogun let off a flurry of jabs but he wasn't able to budge Thrasher's armor, the bell rang and the match was over. Ogun painted and watched blood spill all over the ring from his hands and knuckles. “And the winner is Thrasher!!!” The crowd yelled in applause as Ogun slumped knowing this was his second loss, he saw his brother in the crowd, he had a short buzzed cut and a wide smile as he seemed to be giddy for some reason. “Fuck are you so happy about, I lost again.” Jabari laughed and shook his head. “I've got something big, something that will change the game.” He showed Ogun a vial with a red substance inside. “It's going to be a game changer, you wish to win at all costs right?”
And from there it's all been a downward spiral, the production of Spike became bigger and bigger and became a much-needed resource not just for boxers but even the Shujaa forces. Kinetic Boxing became bigger and all with the help of Jabari. The highly addictive nature of Spike made it hard to resist not using it again, and those that stopped ran the risk of losing their Kineticism. Ogun won the fight against Thrasher and became the next champion but he claimed a belt he felt he didn't earn.
