"What is this place?", Astraea said.
"This place belongs to the people, the people that oppose Lord Garm and his ruthless teachings", Nix said.
"Ruthless?", Astraea said.
Astraea began to squints her eyes with doubt.
"You didn't know? Lord Garm sacrifices innocent bystanders to evolve human beings in a faster rate... It may not visible to some but it's already happening. Look at your surroundings.. you should pay close attention", Nix said.
"I actually do... I actually encountered strange occurrences back at my place. People die on a daily basis, and even authorities don't have a single clue", Astraea said.
"It's pretty common... The higher ups conceal their barbaric experiments to hide from the masses. It's still unclear though, why would they have to evolve humans and the worse part is they do it in broad daylight. I mean closer to the population's vicinity", Nix said.
"Wait a minute? Hold on... You mentioned that this is all Lord Garm's fault. But he's been dead ages ago..", Astraea said.
"You're wrong... Lord Garm was never dead. He can never die.. He's an immortal. His followers covered up his death", Nix said.
"What? Wait... You're saying that he's immortal?", Astraea said.
"Believe it or not it's real. The history tells it.. it even says that they were three of them ruled over us for million of years and they never grow old not even a slightest", Nix said.
"That's why people worship them... They believe that the Ancient Gods sent them to Earth and obey their wishes or else the Ancient Gods bring wrath upon the humans", Nix added.
Astraea went silent. She gazes upon the highest point of ceiling, fascinated by the light that glows upon the city.
"That! (points directly above) That looks exactly like a sun", Astraea said.

"Artificial Monolight...", Nix said.
"This is one of the inventions of Dr. Freze's, he's the founder.. the leader of the resistance. We should all be thankful to him... After all, he saved us including me", Nix added.
"Saved? Did something happened?", Astraea asked.
Nix glinted his eyes and shakes his head.
"Nothing... Shall we continue the tour?"
Uhm.. sure.., Astraea said.
Nix pointed out a very modern and luxurious looking building. He clears his throat.
"Saw that building over there that our headquarters, that's where we meet up after we are done doing our missions", Nix said.
"Missions?", Astraea said.
"The ravenous person back when we met the first time. I took take care of them, that's our mission. To protect innocent civilians from harm, they are sprawling in this city recently.", Nix said.
"Why did you have to kill that guy?", Astraea asked.
"I don't have much of a choice, if they don't die in a matter of seconds they began to mutate into a monster.", Nix said.
"I saw them myself how destructive those monsters can be. I cannot afford any casualties after what happened.", Nix said.
"It's must been tough for you to handle this on your own, Nix.", Astraea said.
"No it's probably the best that way...", Nix said
"But you need someone to help you out, out there... We could be partners.", Astraea said.
"I don't doubt how capable are you but I don't want to risk my mission and to save you if it goes downhill", Nix said.
"Fine.. What do you want me to do?", Astraea said.
"First, we need to talk to someone that can truly could harness your power." Nix said.
After walking a few distant Nix pointed out in the distant. A white building surrounded by dense bushes and vegetation.

"This building is where we train beginners with special attributes, we harness their potential through meditation. Be one with the nature and the universe, that's why the building is filled with bushes and trees.", Nix said.
"Come... I would like you to meet my advisor, he taught me everything I know.", Nix added.
A scrawny old man with long beard greet both them. He wave his hands gesturing their arrival.
"Greetings.. I expected two of you to come. Especially you.. young lass. I can feel your presence from a mile away. I can feel that you are special, I have a lot to teach. Please sit down both of you.", Monk Stolly said.
"I am Monk Stolly... Can I ask what is your name girl?"
Astraea...
"Ahhh, such a fitting name for such a beautiful lady. I can feel that you need to fulfill your purpose. I can feel that you are empty inside, you want to escape from such burden or even escape from reality.", Monk Stolly said.
"I don't know", Astraea said.
"Well, maybe not today or the near future but someday you will soon realize.", Monk Stolly said.
Astraea went silent.
"Nix, can you leave us for a minute."
"Sure master"
"Astraea I need you focus alright? Focus on your head. Relax your muscles and body and only focus on your head. Let the chakra flow unto your head."
Monk Stolly began to enchant powerful yet enigmatic incantations. The floor are filled with blue runes as Monk Stolly further enchants his spells. He finally touched Astraea's forehead and his eyes began to bleed.
"How fascinating... Not my life would I be able to experience this.
The building began to tremble and shake and soon after the walls began to crack.
The further the monk tries to connect with Astraea's soul, the more his eyes bleeds heavily.
Nix immediately rushed inside the room and lunges his master to stop the incantation.
"How magnificent... How can a mere mortal possess so much power. We are all insects beneath you. So much mystery and grandeur imagery in such short amount of time. It's almost godly... I can't describe the feeling."
"B-but master you're eyes bled you can't barely even stand up properly.", Nix said.
"Nonsense this girl.. has a deeper purpose, unlike us humans. We mere mortal cannot comprehend her. This might turn our tides against the forces of Lord Garm." Monk Stolly said.
"So you're saying that Astraea is this powerful?", Nix said.
"Powerful than you can imagine boy...", Monk Stolly said.
"Leave me be... I need to ponder on things.", Monk Stolly said.

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
