《Need A Bandage For That?, Ukai X Reader》16 A visit to grandpa

It was the weekend and I was baking again but this time it was just for me. I was baking a pie from the recipe my mother gave me to try out.
I was being extra careful not to burn myself again.
I pulled out the pie from the oven and inspected it.
Yes, it looked like I imagined it.
A content smile was painting my lips as I proudly observed my creation.
"Now just a little sugar on top." I said to myself and reached for the box where I stored the powdered sugar.
My smile slowly loosened when I saw the empty box. I must have forgotten to buy sugar from my last baking attempt.
I quickly put on my shoes and ran to Ukai's shop, hoping it would be still open.
My expression was turning desperate as I neared the shop and noticed the quiet interion.
I was too late...but it should be still open it's not THAT late. Ukai's shop normally on the weekend's closed at noon and it was only 11AM.
I was looking through the glass door if I'll see him somewhere.
"Y/N what are you doing here?" Ukai came from the side of the shop.
He was in his casual clothes and had a bag slung over his shoulder.
Is he going somewhere? Volleyball practice isn't today.
"I just wanted some sugar. I thought you close at noon." I explained and took a second look at the timetable on the door to confirm my statement.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I had to close yearly today. I'm taking Hinata to see my grandpa."
My eyebrows knitted in confusion.
I know Ukai and the boys were friendly but I didn't know it was to that degree of meeting each other's family.

"My grandpa is a coach and I thought he could help Hinata." He explained and I unconsciously nodded.
Suddenly we heard some quick and heavy steps coming towards us.
"Hi coach, hi Ms., I hope I have everything and didn't forget something." Hinata said with a smile between heavy breaths.
He was also in his casual clothes and was holding onto a backpack.
He really seemed excited to go train with Ukai's grandpa. I wonder if he has the same personality as Ukai.
Ukai never really talked about his family, I didn't even know he had a grandfather until now. I figured he didn't have a good relationship with his relatives, so that's why he didn't mention them.
But from the tone he talked about his grandfather, they seemed to be on good terms.
"Ah! No! I forgot the sweet buns my mom baked for your grandfather." Hinata sighed out.
"I have a freshly baked pie, do you want it Hinata? I don't mind, I'll just bake another one." I offered.
Poor Hinata looked really sad that he forgot so when I offered to help his face lit up.
"Really? You'd do that? Thank you, Ms. L/N!" He cheered.
While Hinata was cheerfully jumping around me as some sort of ritual to thank me for my kindness, Ukai cleared his throat to make us pay attention to him.
"Would you like to go with us? I still have room in my car and it'd be rude to just take your pie and not invite you." Ukai rubbed the back of his neck with a hesitant smile.
I looked between him and Hinata.
"Yes! That's great idea, come with us Ms." Hinata added.
Thankfully, my only plan for today was to bake a pie and that was already finished so I had no reason not to come.

The ride to Ukai's grandpa wasn't long but Hinata got knocked out right away and was now happily sleeping in the backseat.
The pie was resting on my thighs, and I was holding it securely with my hands against any bumps or curves we might encounter on our ride.
"I just don't want to look like I came just because of the pie. I'm not some kind of a mama hawk guarding its eggs." I groaned.
Ukai spared me a glance and a small smile appeared on his lips.
"I know you wouldn't mean it like that...But it at least gave me an excuse to invite you." His eyes attentively watched the road as he drove.
A shy smile crept on my lips and somehow I felt a bit warmer.
"An excuse?"
"Well, grandpa will be busy will Hinata and I'd get bored if I was there alone just watching them." He explained like it was an obvious answer.
I only nodded quietly.
I didn't know we could get to an even more rural village than Karasuno but here we were, nearing the house of Ukai's relative.
Weirdly, I was getting nervous to meet him. I wanted to make a good first impression even though, it would be probably the only time we see each other.
I was looking at my clothes contemplating if I should have worn something fancier.
Well, I can't do anything about it now, at least I brought the pie.
As we were now close to the house, I noticed the ruckus coming from the backside garden. It seemed like children's voices which were occasionally broken by an adult one.
Are those other grandchildren of Ukai's grandfather?
Without knocking, Ukai entered the house and I and Hinata followed after him.
We quietly continued through the house until we got to the porch leading to the graden from where the ruckus was heard.
The garden was far bigger than the one at my home. It was so big there was a whole volleyball court with a net and everything.
Little kids were practicing tossing the ball and an older man was helping them.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews.
