This is something that I should have done well over a week ago now, but have been constantly pushing back due to poor timing and things remaining incomplete for a while. But regardless, I need to get this message out now so that people know what's going on.

Firstly, I will be publishing this story.

The published version will have some additional parts to better tie together future plotlines and give more weight when necessary if the plot lacked tension. On top of that it will be edited, as that's quite necessary when going over old prose, more recent stuff is quite messy too because there's so much to keep track of. Cleaning that up and will happen in the future though.

Secondly, before publishing there is a pdf and epub copy of all RR chapters compiled into books on my discord.

The link for the discord is here, and to access the downloads you simply need to accept the rules in its channel and go over to announcements were both links are placed. This is only for book 1 at the moment, future books will be added closer to their release and when I have the time.

Third, I will be using KU for this publishing.

This is exactly as it sounds, KU is simply the most profitable option for smaller indie authors, especially if you write long fantasy books as KU pays out based on page reads. The exclusivity period is in 3 month periods, which means once the book is taken down, it'll be that way for 3 months. It's unlikely that I extend this period for more than one period, after which the RR version will be put back up.

Book 1 is planned to be placed on KU in 2 weeks roughly, hopefully around September 18th.

Further books are still in limbo as book 3 is still only nearing its end, from a writing standpoint. But given 2 months for each further book, then the series should be completed around new years. Unless I'm sorely mistaken, this should be a similar staggered release that other major stories on RR have done before, Selkie with BTDEM is the best example I can think of. The schedule in my head, given this go well, is:

September release: New Kind of Freak - Book 1

October release: New Kind of Freak - Book 2

November release: Crafting the Future - Book 1

December release: New Kind of Freak - Book 3

January and beyond is currently unknown, but if the story is completed by then I will likely just do a 1 book a 1 month release rate.

After a book completes its time on KU, the RR version will be added back.

I specify the 'RR version' because there are changes between the two. Yes, to some degree this is scummy, if you prefer to see it that way, but I can promise there aren't any major differences between the books. The paid version is intended to be higher-quality with extra/revised content which makes it worth buying. Either way, if you prefer to binge-read stories then I do implore you to check out the discord and simply download the compiled RR chapters. These remove the chapter headings, just to note.
