Jeans, t-shirt, sunglasses, shoes- I gave him a set of all the 'uncomfortable' outfit. We were heading to my home, making a stop at the local café to meet Ela and Mayan.
"What is this?" another one.
It was my car. And we were in for a ride, both literally and metaphorically. I couldn't even estimate wildly, the set of questions that were waiting for me.
He uncomfortably walked in those jeans towards the car as I pulled the door open for him.
"Wow" he touched the interiors of the vehicle. Fidgeting with the Air conditioner, the music system, the navigation system.
Usually anyone doing that would annoy the crap out of me but not when it's him. I wouldn't even care if he messes up with a thing or two.
I entered the location and put the car on 80% auto mode, so that I can pay attention to my man without having to shush him while I drive.
"I'll pull the seat belt for you." I said.
"huh?"
And instead of explaining further I leaned ahead to pull the belt from over him. He reflexively leaned backwards narrowing his eyes down at my face, breathing in my approximation.
"Don't do this again." he said a little softly, moments after I pulled back. "I might have a good discipline but I don't know if I have good self control when it comes to you."
-----
"That's Yug." He jumped and screamed as soon as he saw Mayan sitting with Ela, waiting for us to join them.
"He is look alike." I explained. Neel knew it, but he was still hoping otherwise. There was a visible sadness over his face. "He'll be fine." I tried comforting him. He looked at me and nodded, without changing much of what his expressions held.

" I was taken by surprise when I heard Neel greet my friends like that. I turned to look at him in disbelief while he only smirked not directly looking at me. Ela and Mayan were confused what made me still in the moment.
But you know what did.
"Where did you learn this from?" I asked and he continued smiling.
He was so proud of himself.
"TV series and You." He finally answered.
" I said.
He stood for a while, his eyes moving upwards and sideways as if he was trying to recall something and then he finally said.
Wow. He is going to be a classic member of this world in just one month if he continues progressing this way.
When I had told Ela about the entire time travel episode and Neel, she frowned upon my choice of a 600 old man, but as soon as she saw my handsome hunk, she was already drooling.
She gave me a wide eye glance, confirming non verbally, if he is actually a man that has ever existed in the Indian history, and luckily we are getting to see it now. A gave her a subtle, 'best friend code' nod.
Neel hated the quantity with which they served us meal. We had ordered a cheese cake, and even though I wasn't sure whether Neel will like it or no, I ordered one for him separately so that he gets to have all of it by himself. And of course I ordered a large cup of his 'syrup'
He was an addict to caffeine. He has never hated any coffee in this world. Although he says that the one I make for him is the best one, but he has thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
Neel of course felt bad. He couldn't read the menu, he couldn't comprehend what the waiter was talking. He hated to look at me for financial support. Even when we were out with friends, he wouldn't get most of the reference that we would talk about.

Although Ela and Mayan were kind enough to not let him feel left out. So for most of our conversation, we would let him speak about his world.
About how he tackled wars. About how he was attacked and how he dodged it. What was his favorite memory of being a king. What was his worst one. Everything.
And I could listen to him talking about his world forever.
He was fascinated with this world for real. But only 2 things could keep him genuinely happy, his world and me.
And he had chosen me. There's no one else that can love me like this.
