《Law of God (Book 1)》Chapter Fifteen

I had taken foster parenting classes through the foster care agency before I had adopted Jacob. These classes helped me navigate the foster care system. They're usually optional for family members, but they definitely help me and can answer a lot of my questions!
They're free and will provide me with a lot of information about the foster care system and how to best help Jacob in my care.
Foster care agencies also typically have classes geared towards working with kids with specific special needs.
If I know what issues a family member has faced, these classes might be helpful for me as well. For example, if I know that Jacob was abused or neglected, I would take a class on gaining the trust of a child who has previously been abused.
After two to three months of training, I was finally able to adopt Jacob.
Every Friday, I would have to get home early with the permission from my law firm first. I wouldn't want to miss Jacobs therapy sessions and his other class for anger management. I would have to ask permission in advance from the firm.
My parents were never abusive to me nor Jacob. They were always understanding, and very supportive to us, and they loved us like any other paremr would love their children.
As as I walked into this center, I had Jacob stay with Mrs. Hutchinson, and I hope he is able to behave. I pulled out my cell phone from my pocket and I texted Mrs. Hutchinson asking her how Jacob was doing.
I texted back to Mrs. Hutchinson and I wrote, "ok." I then pulled away my cell phone, and class was about to begin.
After class had ended about an hour later, Mr. Norman, the one teaching class, had explained to everyone that we will pick up this week's lesson for next week. As soon as I sat up from my seat, other people did the same.

Mr. Norman had walked up to me, after I had marched my way to this table where the cookies, and drinks were. I picked up a cup and poured me some ice cold water.
"Hey, Ryan, how are you holding up tonight?" Mr. Norman asked. I sighed, "I'm alright, I guess."
"You look a little bit tired."
"Yeah, I just, it's hard having to raise an autistic child."
"Well, you seem like a natural at it, how's Jacob handling his anger?"
"Oh you know, he's still throwing tantrums, he literally almost got expelled from school." I took a sip of my water, and Mr. Norman shook his head, understanding me.
"Well, just hang in there, it will be okay. I just understand I'm sure there's another parent in here feeling overwhelmed over their child being angry as well."
I sighed, shaking my head. "Yeah, Jacob is tough work for me. But I'll eventually get it."
Mr. Norman smiled softly, "Hey um, I know this isn't any of my business, but I'll be praying for Jacob and you."
I chuckled, in confusion. "I didn't know you were so religious, and what are you praying about?"
"Well, I heard Jacob is being put on trial, poor thing, I'm so sorry."
"Who told you that?" I asked, wondering.
Mr. Norman sighed, "You don't know? Since you're one of the best lawyers in the state, pretty much the whole town knows what happened about Jacob."
"No, I-I wanted it to be private," I started to get worried.
"Ryan, the whole world's gonna know, rather you try to hide it or not, and with you being on TV, and all over the news, I..." I cut off Mr. Norman.
"Wait, we're all over the news? " I asked, turning while looking for a newspaper vending machine after I had walked outside of the center.

There was one located at this little bar restaurant across the street, and I immediately took out a quarter to take out a newspaper and I noticed Jacob and I were on the front paper. I chuckled, and since I have worked as a lawyer for many years, everyone knows my name, what I look like, and everything.
I sighed, just stood there not knowing what to do. I immediately went back to my car and I rushed my way back home.

Redemption is a fickle thing. Nine detectives and nine serial killers find themselves playing a dangerous survival game of deductions, pretending, and - murder. With your life and alias on the line, what would you give up for a shot at redemption? ... The main premise and kick of KtJ is that it is a guessing game of sorts. 18 high school students of various ages and backgrounds come together and are given aliases, such as "King", "Killer", or as the protagonist is aptly named - "Protagonist". They do not know each others' identities, and what's more - 9 of them are anonymous detectives, and 9 of them are serial killers. The cast is given a list of their names, and a list of the identities of the serial killers and detectives they are being held hostage with, and are forced to interact to guess the identities. The people who are able to connect all identities will get "a special advantage" in the killing game, but it isn't specified what. Alongside this, each cast member is given three secrets they are able to reveal at any point for an advantage in the killing game as well. However, one of these secrets is their name, and revealing that secret will result in a minor "punishment" as well. [COVER ART DONE BY RILIE @kisikils] [Illustrated]

The Hopeful Project
A pair of twins stumble their way into the world of blood magic, lizard people, and cultivation powered mecha-armor. And by stumble, I mean one of them falls on their face while the other laughs. [Writathon Participant] People read this far? What are you doing down here? Escape! The chapter buttons are over there, stop reading this. No? Fine. This book is an excuse to put a world I spent around 3-4 months of my life building over the pandemic into writing. I was planning on doing the writathon last year, but somehow managed to confuse October and November. Dont laugh, I'm already ashamed enough. This book is about a pair of twins, doing twin things: calling each other names, going to school, learning how to use their blood to become unstoppable, juggernaut, killing machines... You know, twin stuff. It's like if someone stuffed a school arc inside of a tournament arc inside of a war arc. A good time, basically. I hope you enjoy it.
