《Law of God (Book 1)》Chapter Twenty-One

I was back in the interrogation room along with another client of mine. His name was Walker Davids. Walker was talking to Detective Sailor, and explaining to him that he didn't kill anyone, he didn't kill his cousin. Detective Sailor kept questioning Walker, and I told Walker to not say another word. But then Walker just kept on talking, and I told him to please stop talking. I was a little annoyed and Walker spoke one last time.
"Shut up, please!" I said to Walker, annoyed. Walker then just scoffed, and whatevered me.
"I hope you understand my client is not going to say another word." Detective Sailor shook his head understanding me, and he just looked at me like he looked like he was feeling bad for me. I took a deep breath and slowly sighed.
After I had walked out of the interrogation room, I sighed. Detective Sailor then walked out of the interrogation room as well, before I was about to exit the police department, Detective Sailor then called out my name. I sighed, before pushing the button for the elevator to open. I stroked my hair to the side, and I waited for the elevator to open.
Detective Sailor stood beside me, and he could tell I was furious. "Hey, um, I heard what's going on the news." I sighed not saying a word. "I hope you understand that you can talk to me about anything." I scoffed, rolling my eyes.
"And I am really sorry about your brother." The elevator then dinged and the doors slide open. I walked into the elevator, I turned and pushed another button.
Detective Sailor asked me if I needed anything, I still didn't say a word and the elevator closed. People still kept on staring at me and Jacob, and the whole town pretty much was against us. Jacob and I were sitting in this ice cream shop and we were eating. Jacob kept flicking his fingers and he was all hyped up again.

I tried to keep him calm, and shushed Jacob, and Jacob just got mad. "Please, Jacob, can you please stay calm?" I tried to convince Jacob to eat his ice cream, and I looked around the ice cream shop and people were staring at us and chattering. Jacob continued to be hyper, and I sighed, where I was about to lose my temper.
Jacob then eventually calmed down, and I sighed. I looked over to the people, and they still continued to stare.
After Jacob and I were leaving, we walked out of the ice cream shop and headed to the parking lot. I was holding Jacob's hand, and until these three idiot teenagers were messing around with Jacob, one of them asked if Jacob was the kid who killed his girlfriend? I just ignored them, and continued walking my way to the car and the same teenager asked if his girlfriend was hot? He mockingly laughed at me, along with his two other
friends.
"You and your brother don't belong here," the teenager then got suspicious.
I sighed, just looking at the teenager, with a serious look and no words to say. I could feel my anger firing up from inside of me. "What? Don't you have something to say?"
The teenager asked, before mockingly laughed once again. I took a deep breath and sighed, I started walking my way up to the teenage guy and before I did, I told Jacob to go wait in the car.
"If you can't keep words in your mouth, then I suggest you walk away right now," I said to the teenager.
"Aw, like that hurts my feelings."
"I'm warning you," I said, angrily, while getting close to the guy.
He laughed, "Oh what, are you gonna hit me?"

I was breathing real hard, I was so angry and my heart was racing. I just stared at the teenager like he could tell I wasn't kidding about what I was about to do.
"You're gonna regret it," I said.
"I'm not scared of you, so whatever it is you're wanting to do, say it right now, I don't mind taking a fight against you," The teenager said straight close to my face.
So I didn't take the fight, and I turned and walked away. "YOUR BROTHER IS A LOSER!" The teenager loudly said. I then stopped walking and I turned, angrily speeding walking to the teenager and I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the wall.
I then let go of his shirt, and people saw me. The random teen straightened his shirt and I sighed, before I walked away once again.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
