《Theirs》Chapter 51

...

"Everything's ready." Blaze said firmly.

"Perfect." Draco said and Tharion just nodded his head.

The twins were finally ready to go and get Katherine back.

"It will take us almost an entire day to get there though." Blaze said with a sigh.

"If we go now and speed up a bit, we'll get there faster." Draco said impatiently but Blaze shook his head.

"If we do that, everyone will be too tired to fight when we get there. And I don't think you want anyone dying because they were tired. Just stick to the plan we made." Blaze explained and both twins knew he was right.

They both signed in frustration but nodded their heads. Not having Katherine with them for so long is taking a toll on them. They're becoming more impatient and restless.

"Kate's strong and stubborn. She'll be perfectly fine by the time we get there." Blaze reassured with a smile.

The twins couldn't help but smile at the thought of their stubborn and persistent mate.

'She's probably chewing his head off as we speak.' Draco said in amusement.

'Definitely.' Tharion agreed.

"Now then, shall we?" Blaze said, pretending to be a butler, slightly bending his back and pointing his arm towards the door.

The twins shook their heads at their brother's antics and started walking.

Hang in there Katie. We're coming to save you.

...

After spilling her guts out, Katherine suddenly went limp in my arms. I barely managed to catch her in time. I looked at her pale face and old, torturous memories came to the surface.

"Hang in there. You'll be fine." I said through my sobs.

She tried to smile but it just ended up looking like a weird smirk. Her porcelain skin looked pale as a sheet of paper, specks of blood covering most of it.

"Someone call the doc!" I yelled as I took Katherine in my arms.

"I knew we shouldn't have come." Granny said worriedly.

I looked at her in confusion, my mind still trying to process everything that's currently happening.

"She looked like this ever since she woke up. She also refused to eat because it made her nauseous." Granny explained slowly.

I looked down at Katherine, my mind confusing her for her for a second.

Get a hold of yourself Niran.

I took a shaky breath and quickly headed towards the door.

"Your Majesty?!" The doctor said in surprise because we almost collided at the entrance.

"Follow me." I said shortly and quickened my pace.

And in no time, we were back inside Katherine's room. I slowly laid her on the bed and let the doctor do his thing. As he was doing that, I finally dived into my thoughts.

It can't be her right? It just can't.

But the more I looked at Katherine, the more similarities I found.

'Take a few soldiers with you and go to the witches. Tell them it's important and I need one of them here as soon as possible.' I ordered through the mindlink.

'Understood.' The general replied.

I inhaled deeply and ran my hand through my hair. Then the doctor suddenly stood up and I immediately approached him.

"How is she?" I asked impatiently.

The doctor signed, making my nerves skyrocket.

"She should take better care of herself. I know it's hard with all the nausea, but she'll put herself and her child in danger." He explained as he started to write something in his notes.

My eyes widened.

"Ch-child?" I said in confusion, making the doctor look at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes. She's expecting. Weren't you aware of this?" He asked in confusion.

I think this whole mountain just crumbled on top of me.

"Sh-she's p-pregnant?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yes. About two weeks I'm assuming. I'm not very familiar with human pregnancies, so I can't exactly tell how far along she is." He answered.

I leaned on the bedside table next to me and ran my hand down my face.

She's pregnant...

I looked at Katherine's sleeping face. It's like I was looking at her.

Alina...

The door suddenly opened, pulling me out of my thoughts. I whipped my head towards the brainless imbecile who doesn't know how to knock and growled.

"Don't you know ho- Witch?" I said in confusion when I looked at Evanora, one of the witches from the cavern close to our territory.

"I see you still have awesome manners Niran." Evanora said sarcastically.

"And I see you still look old as fuck." I fired back in the same tone.

Evanora glared at me and quickly checked herself in the vanity mirror next to her.

"Liar. I still look younger than you. Just admit you're jealous." She grumbled in annoyance.

Which was true. Witches from this cavern were good at disguising their appearance. But despite her youthful looks, Evanora was probably older than even granny herself.

"You mean you're jealous because us dragons age way slower than you old grannies.' I taunted with a smirk.

She glared at me and threw a fire ball at me. But I just swatted it away as if it was a fly.

"If you ever seriously want to attack a dragon, don't use fire against it." I taunted her even more.

She just grumbled and huffed in annoyance.

"Whatever. What do you want?" She asked impatiently and crossed her arms.

As I was covering Katherine from her sight with my body, I just stepped to the side and let her take a look. She approached me and then moved her eyes from me to Katherine. And soon her annoyed look morphed into a shocked one.

"She-" She gasped out and covered her mouth.

So I'm not seeing things after all.

"I know. That's why I called you." I explained with a sigh.

A headache was slowly wrapping around my entire head and I was not looking forward to it.

"Hold on." Evanora said and quickly sat next to Katherine's sleeping body, taking Katherine's hand in hers.

I don't think anything could've prepared me for her next words.
