《The Solitary Sword Sovereign》Bluff

"Apologies fellow friends, my discussion with Karim here took a bit longer than expected."
At this exact moment, the large Nzou had brought back the similarly large Karim, except the latter, had lost his usual smile and upbeat vibe. If anything he looked like an incredibly depressed man. Lord knows what Nzou had discussed with him.
"Alright, everyone follow Letty, we need to head indoors for a nice chat." Said Will after some thought. The others nodded and followed Letty deeper into the city.
After clearing the debris, a large majority of the city had been cleared. Only a few pristine select buildings were left in their positions. The roads had been repaired while plenty of empty spots existed dotting the city.
Within a few minutes of brisk walking, the group arrived in front of what should have been a hotel previously. A sign reading 'Senbonken' was the only sign of what this was. The group had some idle chatter while Letty led them to a lobby inside the building. It was quite luxurious and spacious, with drinks and all sorts of snacks available for everyone.
This was Will's first time in this room but one look at him would make you think otherwise. He sat at one of the chairs and leaned back, gesturing for the others to do so. Once everyone had sat down, Wills' face became unusually somber.
"Okay, Alexa, would you mind telling me what you know about my class?"
Alexa smoothly crossed her legs and said, "I assure you Lady Letty would no doubt know more than me."
Will frowned and straightened his back, "But I'm not asking her, I'm asking you."
"Both you and Lady Letty belong to the empire now. Although you have been given charge of this area, you lack the qualifications to order me around." Said Alexa, cool and calm.

"I don't give a shit who you think I belong to. If the pill you gave me kills me on the spot then so be it, I don't give a damn, I'm not afraid of dying, but I will be damned if a suit in a mask doesn't answer questions in my own back yard. If you keep playing coy then I will decide to break away from the empire. Which will no doubt kill me instantly, then you have to explain to your superiors how you let a Water Meister/Supreme Candidate die under your watch. You have 30 seconds to decide. If you think I'm fucking around look into my eyes. Time starts now."
The room became incredibly silent once Will finished. Although the ever handsome Ibrahim was stonefaced, he was impressed by Will's resolve, while the rest, except Taiga, were cursing his stupidity. Taiga remained in his own world, while Alexa's eyes became like slits as she observed Will from head to toe.
Qi left her body and filled the entire room, making it somewhat suffocating. The majority of it bore down on Will, making sure to not miss a single inch of his skin. She thought he was bluffing and was trying to call it. But as time ticked on, the resolve in the young man's eyes did not wither but rather intensified.
Karim gulped and everyone in the room heard it. The tension was so thick it felt tangible. With only ten seconds remaining, Letty chose to speak. "The only common mental aspect among all Meisters is that they don't fear death." Her words were like a bomb that ignited the atmosphere.
There were only a couple of seconds left, yet Letty had timely dropped this little bit of information. Information that Alexa was unaware of.

'Is she lying or telling the truth?'
Being royalty from another world, it goes without saying that Letty had incredible composure. From Alexa's point of view, her poker face was impeccable. Faced with this situation, she had no choice but to break protocol and reveal what her empire knew about Water Meisters.
"Elemental Meisters are incredibly powerful, and their classes are one of the rarest if not the rarest. They can use any element-related ability of any rating given enough training or time.
The classes come with thousands upon thousands of skills the user can learn over time. Every Elemental Meister in existence has always been an emperor for the duration of their life. This is all the information we got from the IB."
Will's Aqua Sense monitored all her motions and muscles. From her heartbeat to her body temperature. So far she did not know any signs of lying, but then again, she was a Ghost, who knows what kind of training they had gone through. Will was far from being a master of intent, so he was not confident in his prognosis of the situation.
Will sighed as he leaned back. "Letty, come with me for another moment." After a moment, Will stood up and Letty followed. Alexa had a rough idea of what was about to happen. As someone from a higher world, a princess no less, there was no doubt that Letty had access to more information compared to the empire. Will intended to measure the information the empire had on him while using Letty to enlighten himself at the same time.
Gaining such important information would increase Will's value to the empire, thus raising his position, or so Alexa thought. In her mind, there was no way Will could go against the empire, due to the pill he had taken. Hence so far Will was not doing anything that could harm the empire, meaning she did not need to act, or rather she couldn't…

The Elves watched for thousands upon thousands of turns as the war raged overhead. The Fell Ice against the Sun and the White Magic were locked in a struggle lasting for an age, with neither side claiming victory as the earth was ravaged. In time the Fell Ice retreated, as it had so many times in the past. Release Schedule: Tuesdays & Fridays @ 10AM PST This work has cannon LGBT themes, characters, and situations but does not have explicit sexual content. Originally started in 2005 as a form of self-therapy writing has helped heal many of my wounds. The world grew until the concept of it being self-therapy did not contain it anymore. I scrapped what I had written to that point using it as an outline and started over, building it into a novel format. Containing stories of a diverse population and multiple lead characters each chapter centers on the perspective on the main character in the chapter. Blurb & Section Information Set five hundred years into Earth's future is this sci-fi political space opera. After a solar system fractured by conservative vs. liberal politics begins to settle, humanity is on the cusp of an amazing breakthrough in understanding the universe around them.
