《Dark Slate》Chapter 2: New World

It's been around seven or eight months now.I saw my reflection some time ago. As I stood in front of the mirror. I looked at myself, and what i saw was a baby boy. With an immense depth of black hair, big round dark grey colored eyes and white skin.
what stood out to me the most was the expression on my face. I looked sad. Miserable even. with dark blemishes under both eyes. I truly did feel sad.
'hah a baby having depression, what a strange thing.' I thought
Leon and Emma are taking me and Hanna to go around and see the village. I haven't been outside at all since i came to this world.
I have only seen the outside through the windows. From what i could see, there was a large expanse of land and the mountains weren't too far. there was also a river, where fishermen fish. And on the other side of the river was a forest, where lumberjack's chop down trees.
I could now more or less walk. I still had trouble balancing on my own and used the wall or another object for support. I was making my way to the exit.
i was focused on keeping myself from not falling. until i felt the cool air coming from the front door. the air was fresh and it felt nice as it made contact with my body.
I lost my focus and tripped backwards. lucky my sister was there and caught me before i fell on the ground. I looked at her, and gave her a smile to express my thanks.
She rolled her eyes in response, and as she walked past me she said "be careful next time, stupid brother."
Did i do something to her?
Anyway she then walked out the front door, but kept her distance from Leon.

Emma picked me up and put me inside a pouch that was strapped to her stomach. She Then followed
after the other two.
As we walked out the front door i was able to feel the cool breeze against me, better than before, and i then inhaled heavily through my nose to smell the fresh air. my sadness and loneliness quenched a bit, and for once, I was kind of excited.
There is a trail leading to an archway made of stone out front, and walls about half way of the arch's size that surrounded the whole house. there was flowers decorating the arch as well as the stone walls. There was also a small garden inside, and some small trees. There was a swing on the biggest tree.
Walking out through the arch there was stairs going down and another trail leading to a roadway made of dirt. As we walked along the trail we could see the village not to far from here. Looking back, our house was on top of a small hill. It didn't take long to get to the village, maybe around 10 minutes of walking.
When we got to the village there was small stands of merchants selling their goods like food, jewelry, tools, cloths, clothing, and furs.
Leon went to a tool shop to buy a new axe. he works with the villagers to cut down trees and sells the logs he cuts. he also works in the fields. That's how we make a living, but i feel like there's more to it. Because he has a lot of money stashed on an a locked chest. It doesn't seem like he would make that kind of money on just cutting down trees and farming.
'i wonder what else he does?' i thought
Emma took me and Hanna to a clothing shop. She then set me down on a tall stand and grabbed some pieces of clothing, she put them on me to see which ones fit and looked the best. She looked at me with excitement with every new outfit, and blushed every time. She took her eyes off me for a second to go check on Hanna.

"Hey is that baby okay" i heard some one say.
"yeah he looks kind of sad" another voice said.
"look at the black circles around his eyes. It's kind of scary."
I looked over to see where the voices were coming from. Only to see that it was a woman talking with her friend. They were both studying me closely.
"shhh not so loud i think he heard us. Look he's looking at us." they both flinched under my gaze. afterwards they waved awkwardly at me and walked away.
Once Emma came back. She picked the clothes that she thought would suit me the most. Hanna picked some outfits and dresses that she liked too, And she went ahead and made the purchase.
We were walking on the main road so it was crowded. there were many different people. The ones that caught my eye were the people wearing armor and having different weapons on hand like swords, shield, and bows.
We saw Leon on the distance, and made our way towards him. Everyone in the surroundings started at him. Some young women were blushing as he passed by.
'Well he is handsome i'll give him that'
"hello Emma. got everything you wanted?" he said as he patted my head.
"No we still need to grab ingredients for tonight's dinner" she replied "what do you guys want to eat?" she asked referring to Leon and Hanna.
"You're the cook so you pick" said Leon.
"Okay then, How about some meat stew?" she said. Both Leon and Hanna nodded. with a smile on her face we started making our way to the next destination.
We got to a food stall, and Emma bought some vegetables to add to the stew along with some meat. she also picked a few fruits to have around. We went to get water at a well and started to head home
Once we got back Emma started preparing for the meal. Leon sat on the couch and i sat to the opposite side of him, while hanna went to her room. Leon looked at me with a serious expression for a while. i didn't pay attention to him. then he looked the other way.
after some time the food was ready. Emma called us over to eat. we made our way to the dinner table. Leon sat at the front of the table. I sat next to Emma, while Hanna sat on the opposite side of her.
Everyone apart from me seemed to enjoy the meal. There was little conversation. Emma only said how she had fun picking outfits for me.
afterwards i went to explore the house. I walked up the stairs that divided the living and dining rooms. I then went out to the second flor balcony, and sat while i watched the sun go down. Emma picked me up shortly after and took me to bed.
