《The Reject (COMPLETED)》Chapter 17: The Attack.

Willow held onto Rowan as her eyes scanned her kitchen from the living room. She could see the dark night from the back door which she was sure had been shut all this time was wide open. Willow felt her heart stop.
Her kitchen looked like a wolf zoo. Wolves of numerous shades were standing in front of her. Willow had an odd feeling that they were all looking at her.
Was it the dog she saw the other day in the woods who led them here? Willow wasn't even sure if that wolf was present here. But Hunter did say that it belonged to him. Was it him that sent all these beasts here? Willow did offend him earlier.
Willow had her eyes opened to this type of pettiness. She regretted even going to the party. If she hadn't gone in the first place then Hunter wouldn't even have to unleash his wrath by sending his army of wolves. She now knew why he was offended when she had called the beast in the woods as a dog.
Willow wondered if Hunter could talk wolf and had explained her features to them. For they were solely staring at her, she could feel it, the chill which ran up her spine when more than two dozen wolves were glaring at her, but then again she didn't have much time to ponder on the thought, because she was sure that she didn't have much time to live. She'd prefer dying happy and a quick death.
Willow cursed the beasts, mentally. Why couldn't they come some other day? Or some other time? Though them not coming at all would be wonderful, but these beasts just has to come at this time, when she was sure Rowan was going to kiss her.
Why now of all times?
Willow wanted to chew her nails in regret for her bad luck.
"Willow." She heard Rowan call out. That is when she snapped out of her thoughts. Did she go insane or hit her head? Why was she having such thoughts in the face of death?
But a part of her still voiced that she should have died after having her first kiss. Life was so unfair!
Willow, now noticed that Rowan who was standing behind her was now standing in front of her, as if shielding her from the wolves. He turned to face her and pried her hands off him and held this in his. As Willow stared at his face, she saw that there was not a hint of fear. Willow internally praised Rowan for being a tsundre in the face of death.

"Listen to me carefully." Rowan squeezed her hand. "Run up the stairs and get Natasha. But don't come down. Okay?"
Willow was taken aback. Leave him alone here? To die? She wouldn't do that. "I won't leave you."
"I'll take care of them. Do you trust me?"
Willow wasn't sure if she did or not, but at this moment he was sure she didn't.
"I know how to fight. Where I come from, we had lots of wolves, so I can take care of them. You don't have to worry."
"How can you expect me to leave you here? Alone?"
"Go get Natasha. And do not come down, only when I come up to get you will you come down, okay?"
Willow was reluctant, but as she was about to nod she saw something brown and furry was on its legs as if about to pounce. "Rowan watch out!" Willow yelled.
Rowan turned around and slapped at the wolf who was midair, as if swatting a flay away. The wolf was pushed away and it fell down after hitting the wall with a loud bang. The other wolves growled.
"Go now!" Yelled Rowan. Willow didn't need to be told twice as she rushed to the stairs which was close to her. She was sure Rowan wasn't a normal human. He must have learned kung fu from an exceptional master and must be the strongest. Like those male leads in the Webnovels she has read.
But as she moved to the stairs the other wolves moved towards her, it creeped her greatly but the Kung fu master Rowan was behind her in a second and was in action at swatting the flies—ahem, wolves away. Willow rushed up the stairs as if it was on fire and opened the second door to her left. Natasha who was using her laptop with headphones on her ears looked up.
"Wolves." Willow breathed out, she didn't know what Natasha can do but she didn't have time to ponder on it. "Downstairs. Rowan's alone."
Willow saw Natasha's expression freeze before she shoved her laptop aside and pulled the headphones off before rushing out.
Just before she was about to go downstairs, she turned around an looked Willow in the eyes. Natasha opened the door to her side.

"Willow get in the room, don't come down." Natasha didn't waste any time as she shut the door behind her. Willow couldn't hear her retreating footsteps as her heart was beating loudly.
Looking around, Willow found that she was in Felix' messy room.
Natasha and Rowan both must be some kung fu experts. They will surely snap the wolves in half, ut Willow couldn't sit still up here, while they were downstairs fighting beasts.
Were they even human?
Willow greatly worried, though she might be safe now but there were more than two dozens of wolves, maybe close to thirty wolves. Two kung fu experts couldn't surely get rid of them. She was sure of it. Thirty humans was one thing and thirty wolves with teeth and claws other.
Even if she lived by hiding here, Rowan and Natasha won't. Willow would live her life in guilt for sure, that's something she could never do.
Willow found a baseball bat lying around. Picking it up she stepped out. She could hear numerous growls and whines from downstairs. Her heart was running a marathon. She was sure if she survived this, though there wasn't even a single percent of her chance of survival, but she was sure that if she did then she would die of a heart attack from her joy that she survived.
Willow held the bat to her shoulder as she slowly stepped down. One step at a time, her eyes searched for Rowan in the dark living room.
Willow felt the sky fall and her heart stop as she stared at Rowan. At the very moment Rowan met her eyes and froze, dropping the wolf in his hand.
"Willow." Rowan breathed. Though there wasn't much distance between them, Willow felt like he was in the North pole with Santa while she was on the South pole all alone.
Dread settled over Willow as she stared at Rowan's illuminous eyes, as if he had led lights under his iris.
Willow couldn't find enough oxygen to breath. "What was that?" Willow stuttered.
"Listen to me." Said Rowan blood dripping from his mouth. He started towards her.
"Stop!!" Willow yelled, she raised the bat. No normal human can do that. "Stay there, don't come here, please don't."
Rowan flinched, but stopped moving. "Willow please. I can explain."
"No don't. I don't want to hear anything."
"Don't do this. Let me explain. "
"What are you? Why are you here?" She didn't have to ask, she knew what he was. A Vampire. And he stood right in front of her, with his fangs bared and painted in blood, even his hands were bloody and his clothes and mouth.
Willow felt faint looking at Rowan.
Rowan looked like he was about to say something, but he whipped and caught on to the wolf making its way to him. He flung off the wolf, not biting onto it, thankfully. Willow was sure she would lose it if she saw him bite into the wolf and drink it clean.
Three more wolves attacked him at the same time. Willow was about to turn and run upstairs to find a window to climb down and get as far as possible from her house and never return. But just as she took two steps, she was knocked down, hitting her chin in the process.
Willow felt a furry body on her back. Her heart beat as if it has taken part in Olympics. She was sure it would burst at the speed it was going.
Before the wolf could bite into her neck, Willow felt her consciousness fading. She wondered if she'll die from a heart attack first or the wolf. But her world went black just as she felt the weight of the wolf off her back. She turned her head back to see a silhouette of someone holding the wolf but the golden eyes were clearly visible in her hazy vision.
The Golden eyed boy followed with her in the pitch darkness.
