《Between Reality: G.Y Aspect》47: Why Can't You Allow Teamwork

"... And so, class, those are the functions of an operating system." The lecturer at the software engineering class finalized her lecture. When she looked at the class, she saw a raised hand at one of the front-row seats.

"Mrs. I just have something to add, may I?" Michael stood up from his seat and said.

"Please, do." The lecturer smiled at the student.

Michael confidently walked to the platform where the lecturer was and turned to the class, "In this era, the OS functions keep changing with newer utilities because of the increasing multi-tasking and operations in the computer world." He turned to the lecturer, "This means its control and performance is wide, giving it multi-purpose functions." He turned back to the class, "Meaning the OS has many functions in today's devices, not only work control, memory management, security checks and maintenance, logging resource use and multi-programming. I have detailed research that has all the modern device functions." He turned back to the lecturer, "I can come with the research in the next lecture to share it with the class, and, of course, after sharing it with you first for verification."

"It will be nice of you, Michael." The lecturer proudly approved. Ever since she learned about Michael in the first class, she had been thrilled with his skills and knowledge in the course. She was sure the student would be successful in the course, and would even be of great help in aiding other students to be successful as well.

"Thank you." Michael said and walked back to his seat as the lecturer left the class.

"Pretty impressive, Michael." Symon said behind Michael's seat.

Michael collected his books inside his backpack, "I think you can also manage that, and quite easily."

"Well, thanks. But why can't you allow teamwork?"

Michael looked at him, "Teamwork? Symon, I know how good you are, and I know we are only here for the credentials. We are already done with the course. What do you need teamwork for?"

"I need it because I need you!" Symon desperately blubbered, his tone and manner in an admittedly inferior way, "Michael, you are better than me! There, I said it. I have been fascinated by your work. Your skills are extraordinary and I would appreciate it if I can learn more from you."

"Well, well, well, look at that!" A gleeful smile and a flood of pride rose in Michael. He stood straight and clasped his arms chest high. Getting the words first-hand from the rival exactly proved how preeminent he was. The pleasure flowing inside his bloodstream filled him with golden sweetness and delight. I am the one! He walked a step to Symon, his arms still crossed over the chest with an I-am-the-boss smile, "Who could have imagined a Valvundra yowling and crawling for help? Not me for sure."

"Will you join me and Justine?" Symon meekly said, even though his ego on the day had been damaged to the maximum.

Michael still smiled, "Okay. I will join the group, but as the top dog." He cleared his smile, "When I bark, you coil down your tails, meaning I will be the final man to decide everything." He looked at both Symon and Justine, who stood together side by side, "I will be the final man in decision making, got it?"

"No problem," Symon said, mildly and submissively.

Michael didn't say any other word. He took his backpack and walked away from them.

"Nice, he is in!" Justine happily looked at Symon.

"Yes, but he has no idea what is in store ahead." Symon said with eyes on Michael leaving the class.

"What do you mean?" Justine looked skeptical.

Symon turned to him, "I like classic kung-Fu movies, Justine because these movies not only entertain but inform people about reality check; Sifu train his student, one day the Sifu gets beaten up by bad guys and it will be the student who comes and beat up the bad guys, with the skills from Sifu. That is the reality check only keen people can see." He said and started walking out of the lecture room.

Justine stood processing the point. When he understood, he smiled and happily followed Symon out of the class.
