《BLOODTHIRSTY》14. An awful morning
Advertisement
Everything she saw around her was unfamiliar. The bed she was laying in and the dark blue color that was painted on the wall. The poster of Beyoncé right next to the window. Winter was unsure about her surroundings. Where was she and how did she get here?
She got out of bed and could smell the good food that was being prepared. When she made her way in the living room she was met with Chris cooking, with his bare inked back facing her.
"H-how did I get here?" She asked the blond boy with a smirk on his face.
"Well you fall asleep and I didn't want to wake you up. So I brought you to my place since it was nearby." He explained the brown girl, but even after understanding what went down. He could still see the look of uncertainty on her face.
When winter looked down to herself she felt her heartbeat increasing. She was wearing a white shirt way too big for her. "Who shirt is this? Did you dress me?" The panic in her voice resulted to Chris raising his eyebrows.
"Andrea dressed you and that shirt is mine. Why are overreacting?" He asked her while turning his back to the girl and focused on the food he was preparing.
"Andrea is here?" Winter started to finally calm down.
"Yeah so is Brian-"
Winter left a sigh of relief. "Where is Brian? In Which room?" Winter knew she wasn't acting like herself and probably overreacting, but there was times where Chris scared her. She wasn't completely scared of him, Winter still enjoyed his company. However every time she would look at him it reminded her of all the warnings he used to give her. Some of them still sounded completely absurd, but she always listened to him. In the hope she won't be disappointing him.
Chris closed the fridge extremely hard which surprised Winter. When he turned around he had this look on his face, the same look when he didn't like something. He slowly made his way towards her.
"You know I hate being cut off Winter." He whispered in Winters ears. He was too close for Winters liking so she took a step back.
"I'm sorry." She apologised to him. "In which room is Brian?" She asked him again and to Chris it didn't make sense.
The way she was avoiding eye contact or the way she constantly was making sure there was distance between them. She normally doesn't act this way. Normally she should have already went back to her old self. He thought he had her wrapped around his fingers but right now he was wondering if he really did.
Winter saw how he was just watching her. Not saying anything and being quiet. She liked it better when he was irritated or angry. She liked it better when he at least would talk. When he was quiet it scared her even more. Despite her attempts to keep him from approaching her, he still took steps towards her. Placing his hand on her cheeks.
"Down the hall on your left." He told her while he still had his eyes fixated on her.
"Thanks." Without a second thought she walked away from him. Reaching Brian's room, she knocked a couple of times but he didn't respond.
When she opened the door the room was extremely dark. Winter opened the curtains to let the sunlight in. She walked towards the bed Brian was sleeping in and tried to take his covers away from him. No matter how many times she called his name or pushed him he just won't wake up.

"Brian please wake up." She sat right next to him on his bed and tried to wake him up. Brian opened his eyes briefly and pulled Winter towards him. He wrapped his arm around her waist and closed his eyes again. She tried getting out of his grip but he won't let her.
"Brain wake up please, Chris is making food." She was hoping that the mention of food would make him happy since he loved eating so much.
"Fuck Chris." Brian morning voice kind off did something with her heart but she ignored it.
"If he heard you say that he wouldn't be so happy." Winter wanted to be serious but found herself still smiling.
A chuckle escaped his lips while he pulled her closer towards him and kissed her head. "Is that a bad thing?" He asked her while finally opening his eyes. The door suddenly opened and they were met with Chris piercing blue eyes. Winter knew the way this looked was pretty bad and she tried to get out of Brian's grip, but Brian made sure she stayed in his arms.
"We are coming Chris you can close the door now." Brian told him calmly and while his eyes remained closed. Winter knew he didn't like it when people talked to him without looking at him. Chris wanted to say something but he closed the door instead.
Brian got out of bed and took his pyjama pants and put it on. It was weird to just watch him getting ready so she wanted to open the door and walk out but he pulled her back to him.
"Can you stop pulling my arm Brian?" She told him annoyed and he smiled.
"I'll try." Brian walked out of the room and made his way to the kitchen with Winter behind him. He took a seat at the table and watched the way Andrea was setting the table up.
"Were you two sleeping in the same room?" Andrea asked curious while sitting down besides Winter.
"No I just pulled her in bed with me." Brian told her simply while taking a bite from his food.
Winter was too scared to look up and see the way Chris reacted, but she still did it either way. She immediately regretted it. His eyes were already on her. She could see that he was really annoyed.
"Since when have you too been that close?" Chris asked out loud breaking the silence.
"We have always been that close Chris, but since you have been a dick lately we kinda grew even closer." Brian told him honestly and Andrea was mentally preparing herself for the argument that was about to break out.
"There is a difference between having something and being something. I have a dick, I'm not one though." Chris calmly took a sip of his coffee.
Brian rolled his eyes at him. "You know what I'm not even going to try and explain what being a dick is. I'm not sure you would be able to understand with that brain of yours."
Chris was about to say something but Andrea beats him to it. "Can you both shut the fuck up? Let me have breakfast in peace thanks."
After Andreas little outburst everyone was quiet again. Andrea has never been a morning person. In fact she was more of a night person. She loved going out at night and going to parties, or just watching the stars while overthinking. Winter watched how everyone was eating silently. She remembered how it used to be. They always got along, even when an argument broke out it never lasted very long. Yet today felt totally different. It felt as if whatever was going on right now will last for a couple of weeks.

The glances Brian was sending Chris made Winter skeptical. She didn't understand why they were going so far and for what.
"There is a party today you want to come?" Chris asked out of the blue. Winter didn't expect it to be meant for her. She didn't expect Chris to invite her to a party.
Surprise was written all over her face. "Wait you want me to go to a party?"
Chris had a grin on his face. "Yeah you always wanted to go but never went."
Brian scoffed and glanced at Chris. "She never went because you didn't want her to."
Chris rolled his eyes but Brian was right. He never wanted her to go anywhere without him, and parties where too 'unsafe' for her. He always did his best to keep her from going and right now he actually wants me to go. Even if she wanted to she couldn't go. She had to stay out of trouble. Winter had to go back home and have a movie night with Isabelle. That plan sounded a lot nicer too.
"Well I can't come-"
"Why?" Chris asked her with raised eyebrows.
"Arculus didn't want-" Everyone was silent and looked at her. She didn't want to remind them of him. It looked like they had already forgotten what had happened a couple of weeks ago. Now she brought
memories back, Winter felt stupid.
"Arculus didn't want you to go? The guy from the party?" Chris laughed in disbelief and the look he gave her next made her want to run away.
"It's not like that, he just told me to stay out of trouble." She tried to explain the situation but everyone even Andrea still looked confused.
Chris let out a deep sigh and started at his food. "So you listen to someone you just met, but when it's your friends that tell you to do something you say 'fuck it' and do the complete opposite." Winters eyes widened in disbelief.
They always pushed her away and tried to keep her out of everything. When it came to parties or just even hanging out with them she most of the time wasn't invited. She always felt out and felt more like a problem than she was a person. They always were out drinking and getting wasted and she had to see on social media how they were having fun without her. Feeling that way made her feel as if she wasn't wanted. It made her feel as if she was a party pooper. Telling her she would be ruining the fun if she was there.
Winter dropped her fork on her plate. "He didn't make me feel like I was a nuisance. He didn't make me feel unwanted, and he was actually there when I needed him. I'm staying out of trouble not because he told me so but because I thought that was what everyone wanted right? It's annoying always having to look after someone right?" Her question was left unanswered.
"I thought by doing that everyone was going to be satisfied because I'm not being a nuisance to anyone anymore, because that's what I am to you right? A nuisance?" Chris was left speechless because he didn't expect her to explode like that.
Winter stood up from her seat and went back to the room she woke up in. Took the white shirt off and picked her own clothes up that where laying on the ground. She went to the bathroom and started to get ready. She heard the door open and close itself. Which meant she wasn't alone anymore. When she was fully dressed and walked out of the bathroom she saw Chris laying there. She ignored his existence and took her white shoes and was ready to open the door and walk away. However Chris was too fast and he had her in his grip.
"You know well I didn't mean it like that." His arms were around her waist, trying to pull her closer to him because to him it felt like she was distancing herself. It felt as if she was walking away from him.
"Get your hands off me Chris." Her tone surprised him. She sounded hurt maybe even mad. However she didn't have the right to be.
"What?" He told her with raised eyebrows.
Winter tried getting out of his grip and he let her go. She left the room without looking behind. She left the room without taking a last look at him and his heart sink deeper in his chest. It felt like he was losing her. He came this far, he can't lose her right now.
They all didn't now there were pair of eyes watching them. When she walked out of the apartment with Brian. When he saw the first few tears escape her eyes. When she drove away and when Chris was still in his room. Gripping his hair tightly wondering where he went wrong.
Arculus saw everything happening and the only part that truly bothered him, was when she walked out with tears rolling down her cheeks. He hated to see her cry like that. Winter already reached her destination and sat in her dorm room all alone, and Arculus sat right beside her. He didn't think it through but he still whipped the tears away with his thumb. Winter felt something touch her face but wasn't sure if she wanted to found out what it was. Yet somewhere deep inside she already knew.
"I didn't want you to see me cry." Winter sat up straight and looked around her room.
He was supposed to stay quiet and hidden. She wasn't supposed to know he was there but he didn't want her to think he left her all alone. "I'll be there soon Winter, I just need some time." He told her and winter touched her head in confusion. Did she just hear his voice inside of her head?
Arculus laughed and took a last look at her. Before teleporting back to his own place. He found Orobas sitting on his couch and eating donuts.
"I thought demons didn't eat human food." Arculus said and made Orobas look up in surprise.
"We don't but donuts just tast too good." He said in all honesty. "But where have you been?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
"Somewhere." Arculus answered simple.
Orobas still didn't break eye contact and still had his eyes on him. "Whatever Archie, we still need a plan."
"A plan for what?"
"Have you even been listening Arculus?"
Orobas rolled his eyes. "The group of vampires that stole the object are called Sinners okay. Why they chose that name is unknown to me too but they refer to themselves as The sinners. They are in possession of my object and that can be dangerous since they figured out how to use it."
"Why are they dangerous and why is the object so important?" Arculus wondered still not understand.
Orobas put his donut down, that's how Arculus figured this matter was quite serious. "It's a celestial object Arculus. A celestial object in the hands of blood sucking beings that love destroying everything on sight is dangerous."
Arculus understood that part since Vampires could be annoying beings sometimes. "But you said you lost the object a couple years ago? Why are you only looking for it now?"
"I lost it on a summer night and didn't bother looking for it because I believed The vampires weren't smart enough to figure it out, but they have." Orobas sighed and rubbed his face in annoyance.
"I'm immortal but that knife can even erase my existence. Imagine what kind of destructive things they can do with it." Orobas took something out of his pockets and put it on the table.
It was a map of some building and Arculus figured it was where the vampires reside in.
"Since we're talking about blood suckers. Have you wondered why you feel so hungry all the time?" Orobas asked him while he glanced at his master plan.
"Because I don't eat?" Arculus said confused.
Orobas had a smile plastered on his face. "Have you thought about the possibility you're eating, perhaps drinking the wrong thing."
Arculus rolled his eyes at him. "Can you for once just get to the point?"
"Of course Archie long story short. You're a vampire." Orobas told him with a smile on his face. "You have been eating raw meat but you're supposed to drink blood."
"But you really haven't noticed the fangs you have? I mean the spirits are the one to blame for keeping this from you, but you're pretty stupid for not figuring it out on your own."
"I never felt the need to bite someone in the fucking neck Orobas." Arculus was beyond annoyed.
"That's your other genes speaking pal. You do feel the need to bite, but since being kind is already in your gene you can't bring yourself from hurting anyone."
"Being kind is already in my genes?" Arculus was still confused.
"Yeah but that's on long story, I'll tell you next time Archie."
"Wait but you said I'm a demon?"
"Have you ever heard of a hybrid Arculus?" Orobas asked him and vanished before he could even ask any questions.
It had been awhile since he was left completely confused, but this wasn't even being confused. Arculus had no idea how he was anymore and somewhere it hurted. He just wanted to be ordinary at this point.
