《BLOODTHIRSTY》24. Her nighmares

"Wake up snowflake." Winter could hear Arculus in the background.
"Did you just call me snowflake?" Arculus smiled at her sleepy voice.
"Yes, now get up and go home." He tried to be stern, but they both knew he didn't really want her gone.
"Okay forest boy." She told him while standing up and making her way to the bathroom.
"Did you just call me forest boy?" Arculus asked with raised eyebrows.
"Yes, yes I did." She told him while laughing.
While Winter was getting ready to go back home. Arculus was waiting for the week to be over already. The invasion was supposed to be this week, but Orobas told them to wait an other month. Lazarus was not really the person to mess with. When you think you finally are ahead of him, his the type of person to laugh in your face. Because Lazarus was always a step ahead. So they needed a plan B in case things went wrong. However there wasn't much to the plan anyway.
Arculus already knew the building from the back of his head. With the help of Winter they had figured out where he kept the object, but if he had put the object somewhere else they just had to force the location out of Lazarus. Arculus didn't really care much about the object. It was about all the kids and women put in cages. The men that had to be separated from their family, this was the only reason he was doing this. If they didn't invade the castle next month, he wasn't sure if all of the people suffering could wait any longer.
He walked back to the living area to found an sleeping Amdusias and Orobas eating again.
"I'm starting to be worried about you, the amount of donuts you eat in 5 minutes only is concerning." Arculus told Orobas but he rolled his eyes at him.
"And you don't gain any weight?" Arculus asked him and all Orobas did was laugh.
"Demons don't eat human food, so it can't effect me." Orobas told him simply while taking an other bite out of his glazed donut.
Orobas stared at Amdusias and a grin appeared on his face. He took a glass of water and tried to throw it on a sleeping Amdusias but the water that was supposed to be all over Amdusias was floating in the air. Amdusias suddenly opens is eyes and glared at Orobas.
"You really love annoying me don't you?" Amdusias said irritated and made sure that the water went back into the glass.
"I really just want to cut you in pieces." Amdusias sat on the couch, glaring at Orobas.
"Your such a grumpy person." Orobas laughed and sat across of him.
"Well I wouldn't be if you left me the fuck alone." Amdusias retorted back but Orobas didn't really agree.
"You're grumpy all the time. Loosen up horse don't be such a bitter demon." Orobas throws a pillow against Amdusias head.
"Call me horse one more time Orobias and I swear I'll show you how bitter I can be." Amdusias warned him, however Orobas just laughed at the threats.
Winter came walking in and everyone was quiet. They all stared at her as if she was some sort of alien, from planet mars. Orobas was the first one to laugh and break the awkward silence that was going on here. Amdusias removed his eyes from her completely ignoring her existence. Arculus smiled at her and took her in his arms. She smelled like flowers and fruits.

"You're not scared?" Amdusias asked her without looking in her eyes.
"Euh no not really." She answered back truthfully.
Amdusias dark eyes darkened and looked back at Arculus. "Well human, you should be." He told her truthfully. It wasn't a threat and Arculus had noticed. It was more a warning, he was warning her because of him. Arculus raised his eyebrows.
"Aren't you supposed to go to school or whatever you humans do?" Orobas asked her and she had a grin on her face. Orobas was the one that helped her out when she was held captive. She wasn't sure if he had recognised her or not, but she was thankful for what he had done for her.
"It's Sunday." Winter laughed at his comment. "But I do have to go back to Isabelle before she thinks I'm dead."
"Archie is dropping you off?" Orobas asked her curious and she raised her eyebrows looking back at Arculus.
"Archie?" Arculus glanced at him with irritation in his eyes.
"Ignore him." Arculus looked at how late it was and noticed the fact that they really have to go.
"You want me to drop you off?" Arculus asked her and didn't let go of her hand.
"No it's fine, you said you had thing to do right?" Winter reminded him and he nodded his head.
"I can drop her off." Everyone glanced at Amdusias in disbelief.
This moment could be compared to when a student that never fails any of his test actually fails. It was a not so sure if this is actually happening type of moment. It's not that arculus didn't want to believe him, it's just that being a nice person and Amdusias didn't go well together. In fact it was close to impossible. Orobas raised his eyebrows at the demon covered in tattoos.
"Weren't you the one that tried to kill her?" Orobas asked and Amdusias shrugged.
"It's in the past now, right Winter?" He asked her and she smiled at him. "Besides I have business that has to be taken care of around that neighbourhood."
Orobas raised his eyebrows at the last part but didn't ask any questions, because chances are Amdusias would not even answer. Winter took her coat and put her shoes on. Arculus still had his eyes fixated on Amdusias not believing a word that left his mouth.
"Business like what?" Arculus asked him with raised eyebrows.
"Business like business and business that does not concern you." Amdusias replied back and stood up from his seat, already irritated by Arculus.
"Let's go winter." He said in a calm toon and pushed her lightly since she was walking like a turtle. Arculus raised his eyebrows at the hands that laid on her back.
Orobas laughed at the irritated expression on Arculus face. "Protective pretty much huh?" He asked Arculus while Arculus glared back at him as a response.
The walk back to her dorm room was a silent one. Amdusias was looking around him, ready to attack when any danger came their way. It started snowing and the sky turned to a greyish color. Amdusias was irritated and looked at the sky. He really didn't like snow. Winter laughed and he looked down at her with raised eyebrows. His hair was longer than the last time she had seen him. The tattoos and the piercings were all the same expect the ones on his lip.
"You got an other one?" She asked him curious and in an aw.

"Yes human I did." He told her simply.
"Did it hurt?"
"Yes so much that I ended up crying my eyes out."
"Wait really?" Winter asked in concern.
Amdusias shook his head laughing. "No silly, if you want to hurt me you will need more than needles and sharp objects." He told her well aware she could use it against him one day, but the more he spend time with her. The more he understood that the human was harmless.
Winter laughed again and they slowly arrived at her dorm room. She was about to enter her building until Amdusias grabbed her arm. She turned around to say something but she soon enough understood why she was being held back by him. Chris was standing there with a gun in his hand, as if he was waiting for something or someone. Amdusias hid her behind him and glanced at the blond guy with the gun.
"Your friends suck Winter." He told her and winter want to say something back, but perhaps he was right.
Chris turned around raising an eyebrow at the unknown guy that was holding Winter back. Chris approached them pointing the gun at Amdusias. A sigh escaped his lips as he watched the way the blond guy seemed completely serious. He really didn't feel like taking care of this, he already had enough of issues that he had to fix. However as much as he didn't like humans, Winter didn't deserve to die at the hands of an pathetic man with manipulative behaviour.
"You really don't want to do this." Amdusias said calmly while laughing at the gun.
"Yes I do, you can't take her from me. Winter come here." Amdusias raised his eyebrows at the demand Chris was making. Who did he think he was talking too like that?
"She is not your dog." Amdusias warned him and glanced at Winter. "No but seriously what's up with your shitty friend?" Amdusias asked irritated.
A shot was fired directed to Amdusias. He did his best to stay calm and not do something completely stupid. However he had lost his cool when the bullet had made a hole in his chest. Winter was behind Amdusias completely worried about him. "Oh no, Amdusias are you alright? For fuck sake Chris put that gun down." She screamed trying to hold back tears at the sight of Amdusias bullet wound.
"Close your eyes." Amdusias told her simply.
"Wait no-"
"Close your eyes." He asked her again and she finally did what he asked her to do.
"Please don't hurt him too much."
Amdusias was taken back by her words. Chris had let her walk into a trap. She got kidnapped because of him and mentally and physically abused while she was held captive. He than proceeds to be a manipulative person and treat her horribly. Chris blamed her for the mistakes he himself had made, and right now he is standing in front of them with a gun pointing their way. Amdusias shook his head in disbelief.
When he had met her, he had noticed how bright she was. As a demon he had been surrounded by darkness his whole existence. From bloodbaths and murders to making contracts with the humankind because they were greedy. It had never made any sense. Humans were greedy and in love with money. Some humans would do anything for power. Even go as far and hurt their own kind, yet demons where the bad ones. There was evil to be found everywhere. Even humans that seemed to be the kindest had their own demons they were battling. However Winter was dead serious when she said not to hurt Chris to much, after everything he had done. She still found it in her to be kind enough. Winter was too kind for her own good.
The demon picked one of his knifes and threw it at Chris. Making sure not to stab him in the heart. He threw an other knife making sure to miss the vital points. When Chris collapsed on the ground he let Winter enter the building. He walked towards Chris body and picked his knifes up. Amdusias laughed at the sight of the blond boy.
"Not demanding anymore huh? A chuckle escaped Amdusias lips. "You really thought you can defeat me with a gun?" He asked Chris but the blond boy just glared at him in respond.
"I..I told you...it's not over." Chris could hardly talk and looked down at his wounds.
"Well either way, do us both a favour and bleed to death." He told the boy simply and walked away.
When Amdusias walked away Winter was in the hallway about to finally reach her dorm room. She expected Isabelle to be here however everything was pitch black. Winter dropped her bag on the floor when she noticed the dark figure standing at the window. The lights switched on and she could feel her heartbeat increasing. Her eyes widened and her mouth was slightly open. She tried to walk out of the building and run for her life, but someone had their arms around her waist. A hand covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
"And we meet at least." The vampire smiled at her and played with her curls.
"You know my beloved, I don't mind it when you talk about me, in fact I love it." He chuckled but his eyes darkened. "However when you start plotting against me, that is when you piss me off." He laughed humourless and harshly grabbed her chin. Forcing her to look in his eyes.
"I, the vampire lord let a prisoner go and this is how you repay me?" He raised his eyebrows. He signals the person that was holding her to let her go. Winter stood there in fear, wondering what she did so wrong. Wondering why her.
"You know I won't hurt you, when have I ever?" He asked her and Winter knew he was speaking the truth but she feared him the most. The man of her nightmares.
He placed his hand on her face and shook his head. "However you do understand that I can't let you go right? Not after what your little friend has done." Lazarus watched the way the girl tried to distance herself from him.
"I promise this time they won't lay a single finger on you, but you really have to come with me my beloved." Winter shook her head. She would rather die than go back to reliving her biggest nightmares. She would rather get run over by a truck than to go back.
However Lazarus wasn't asking her. He catches her body before it could make contact with the floor. He stared at the way she was in a deep slumber. Little snores escaping her lips, he smiled satisfied. She was only the bait, there was someone else he was dying to meet.
