《BLOODTHIRSTY》41. Red glowing eyes

Angels had already infiltrated the underworld, they could be found in every single corner. Yet he was on earth pushing the angels in one corner. In the hope they won't hurt humans.
He didn't want to lead a war yet he still did, he did it for his kingdom. For his people that needed him. Every being that was being killed by His own, they had his kingdom in mind. It was his kingdom and people against angels. He was not going to give that up. So when his claws were out ready to hurt anyone in his way he knew why he was doing this. He knew for who he was doing this.
However he wasn't in full power, this was not even 10 procent. He knew better than to go all out, he knew better than to put himself and everyone else in danger. Arculus reminded himself to keep his anger under control, to put a temporary stop to his feelings.
It was chaos everywhere on earth. The humans that lived in this area did not all escape. So some where hidden in their home looking outside curiously, wondering what was happening. Arculus was sure they were terrified, he was sure they were all scared. Humans haven't seen beings like him before. Most humans were scared of the unknown and he was part of that. Yet never had if crossed his mind that perhaps this all could harm his reputation. Arculus wouldn't just be the king of the underworld with time, he would be the destroyer.
He knew that it was a fact. In the humans eyes it was always about good and evil. Brightness would be associated with goodness and darkness would be associated with evil. Arculus knew that right now he wasn't being seen as someone that was doing good. It was shame that it has never crossed anyone's mind that perhaps darkness was what was trying to save everyone. Yet it made Arculus think. How many bad deeds is unacceptable?
"Never expected to see you on the front line Arculus." The demons eyes locked with the angels blue eyes. Arculus recognised the guy. It was the same guy that had appeared in his room.
"You shouldn't be fighting. A king doesn't leave his throne." The angel said while laughing and Arculus raised his eyebrows.
"I'm not a king."
"Yet." The angel had his sword out. "I see the Queen hasn't told you about the fact she is dying?"
Arculus looked up at the angel. Not believing a word that escaped his mouth. He just found out who his mother was. She can't be leaving him so soon right?
"You're lying." Arculus said and took his sword in his hand. He refused to use his power in this battle.
"Lying? You're talking to an angel Arculus. Angels don't lie, that is a demons job not ours." He said with pride in his voice. Arculus raised his eyebrows and hold the sword on the angels neck.
"I did not expect you to be a murderer Arculus." The angel spoke with amusement in the tip of his tongue.
"Perhaps your expectations were wrong." Arculus spoke and stabbed the angel. He made sure to miss the vital points.
He felt energy flow through his body. It was called Satisfaction perhaps. Arculus wasn't sure however he felt as if he was unstoppable. He stabbed everyone in his way with a smile on his face. However it didn't cross his mind that perhaps he was changing. It didn't cross his mind that when he chose to put a sword in someone chest, that it would change him completely. Yet he pushed the thoughts in the back of his mind.

Griping his sword as if it was a part of his body. Stabbing every single angel in his way however he stood still when he saw beings coming alive from the shadows. Werewolves standing on the side watching the battle between angels and demons. There were shapeshifters and even witches. Arculus paid attention to what was happening around him. Wondering why they were all watching, perhaps what were they waiting for.
In an instant everything got more violent. Both angels and demons were bleeding and close to dying. There were lifeless bodies on the battlefield with red liquid surrounding them. Yet it still didn't make any sense to Arculus why there were other creatures there. Weren't they supposed to be hiding or be afraid that they will get caught up in all of this. Arculus was confused to why they weren't running away. They should have been running away.
Arculus raised his eyebrows when more and more creatures came to watch the battle. He could see little Faeries flying around. Glitter fall off their wings and hitting the ground. To say he was confused would be an understatement. Arculus had no idea what was happening and tried to look around for Orobas. It seemed like Orobas was confused too. Both demons locked eyes together, yet neither of them could explains what was happening.
Even Mezic took the moment to look around but also admire all the living creatures she had never seen before. "Prince Arculus?" The she-demon called out to Arculus. "Do you know what is happening?" She asked him yet Arculus wasn't even able to answer.
"It looks like they are waiting for something." She told him and he looked up at the creatures again.
If she had noticed it too perhaps he was right. Maybe they were waiting for something but for what? Arculus was here to win a war, he didn't like losing. Even if he did lose the war wasn't over until he said it was. So if that is what they were all waiting for they were wasting their time. Arculus stabbed an other angel while being too busy trying to figure out what was happening.
Maybe the creatures were there in case something went wrong. However a lot already went wrong. There was blood everywhere and some people were missing limbs. Arculus turned around to face Mezic that seemed to not even be using her sword. She only used her nails that could be compared to blades.
"Be careful and pay attention to your surroundings. I have no idea what is going on." Arculus admitted and she nodded her head.
The sky turned a grey colour and Arculus could feel himself feeling uneasy. Something was off and he knew yet he couldn't figure out what it was. He could hear voices in his head. Where they came form, he had no idea. Perhaps if had something to do with his mother. Maybe she was dying and she didn't bother to tell him anything. Maybe she was sick and was getting only worse.
When the first raindrops fall out of the sky and hit his exposed skin he thought back to his time he had spend in the forest. He thought about spring and how around this time of the year they would have a lot of work. He thought about Brasa the forest spirit and the way it had a bad temper. Arculus thought about how his life used to be so peaceful and filled with nothing but peace. Perhaps if was peaceful not knowing the truth. It seemed like the truth only brought him pain and agony.

The voices in his head only got louder. Telling him to go back, saying things he couldn't really understand. He was in the middle of a battlefield, he had no times solving any riddles. His eyes were glued on the sky. There was thunder, it seemed as if the sky itself was warning him. The thunder was so loud he could feel the ground beneath him shake. Arculus eyes glowed as he looked up to the sky. He was slowly getting more annoyed and pissed off.
Than everything stopped. The world stopped turning for a minute and everything was a blur. He remembered the story Winter had told him. The story of her father and the vampires. The way it rained that day too. The way the thunder was far too loud. The story when her father passed away in the hands of vampires. Arculus looked in every corner. He even used his good eyes to see miles and miles away from where he was standing. The memories came rushing in about Revick panicking about Winter, and the reason why she moved to Lazarus house in the first place. The creatures that have been watching from a distance all looked at him. Almost with wondering eyes, if they knew something how come he couldn't figure out what it was?
It even started raining more heavily. Everyone and everything was completely soaked. Arculus still looked around with wondering eyes. Still feeling the eyes being glued on him. The angel that had made its way inside of his room came into his mind. Arculus raised his eyebrows slowly. Than he felt it.
Sharp pain in his chest making it hard for him to breath. He almost dropped to the ground but he found his balance. Her name was the only thing on his mind and when he turned around, perhaps that is when the air was knocked out of his lungs.
The knife had struck her heart, and her screams was the only thing he was able to hear. The girl was close to dying. If he had known that the war he was supposed to lead would lead to things even worse, he would have thought it through. If he had known, if only he had known. He watched the way her body collapsed and the way his world suddenly darkened. The shadow creature that had stabbed her disappeared. The light that was supposed to keep him whole, his light that was supposed to keep him from losing himself was on the ground bleeding to death.
Arculus didn't care about the war anymore. He could care less about demons and the angels. He had forgotten what he was fighting for when she got struck. He had forgotten what he was doing here in the first place. Arculus could feel his chest hurt, this sharp pain made it hard for him to breath almost impossible. His heart was shattered, into tiny pieces. He was unsure he if he would be able to compose himself. He was unsure if he would be able to get a grip. Arculus had tried, he tried yet he failed miserably.
He rushed to her side and watched the way she was slipping away. Her dark skin turend cold and blood surrounded her body. The heartbeat he got so used to, the same heartbeat that was a beautiful melody stuck inside of his head started to fade away. And perhaps that was the moment when the first scream escaped his mouth. Arculus didn't cry, in fact he never did. It didn't matter what was happening or in what situation he was in. However the first tear rolled down his cheeks. While he was holding his human in his arms.
Everyone watched the way the being mourned. Every single creature stood still at the sight. All the demons found themselves looking down, with their head hang low. Arculus never let emotions lead the way. He never let anger take control. However this time it wasn't about the anger he felt, he was deeply hurt. His sorrow wasn't planning on leaving him anytime soon, and Arculus knew. If this was her end, he would not be able to live. Or better yet he didn't want to live.
Amdusias and Orobas rushed to his side watching Winter's lifeless body with surprise. Orobas didn't even dare look up to Arculus while Amdusias took his shirt off to wrap it around Winters wound. The tears Arculus didn't even spill for his missing parents were being spilled for a human. A mere human that he had fallen for perhaps. He had fallen so deeply for her that he couldn't bring himself to think straight. When he looked at his hands and saw blood that didn't belong to him, his fangs became visible.
The demon that he had always ignored inside of him finally made an appearance. His inner demon finally took control. The colour of his skin turned into a red color. Arculus long black nails touched Winters lips. Still not believing she was gone. His eyes were bloodshot red, the longer he stared at her the more angry he got. In that moment everyone understood. Nor demons or the angels were safe. They had made the mistake to hurt the only thing that was dear to him. Perhaps he finally snapped. Perhaps he was blinded by anger. The only person that could hold him together was gone. The only human that perhaps made the angel side of him show even more was gone. Only a mere human was able to refrain him from losing his sanity, yet with her gone he had nothing to lose.
So as he lost all control, no demon or angel could stop him. No brainwashing or dagger was able to kill him. Arculus was hungry for blood, he was bloodthirsty.

This is my first story to ever be posted. As I am an amateur writer, there shall be mistakes. More so with the fact that English is not my first language. This story is a re-write, and its original version was a request by a dear friend of mine. Though hopefully this version would be far better.. As the original version was a very cringe worthy thing. Many thanks to certain friends that have convinced me to post this. I shall do my best to at least update frequently, without sacrificing the.. quality of chapters. Tags will be added as the story goes on. || Disclaimer: Much of the chapters before Chapter Twelve are of poorer quality in terms of Grammar. So do forgive me for them, by Chapter Twelve and beyond however, the quality of the chapters should have had improved. I'm hopefully gonna fix most of the earlier chapters when I hit Chapter Twenty or Thirty.
