《Axis:Legacy》Epilogue: Legacy

As they continued the Operations, it wasn't long until Task Force Revenir managed to bring down the Axis Liberation Front. What with the assassination of Rider Erbus and the Capture or deaths of many Major members of the Axis Liberation Front due to several raids after what was now established as Safehouses used by the ALF. And so for the next two years, the ALF was finally stopped with many of their leaders either dead or captured.
With it Axis slowly recovered, it took an entire year for the City of Thermus to fully recover and two more years for the victims of the Gas attacks to fully recover. On the Political side of things, with the reveal of the true scope of the threat and with the slow tide favouring Axis, both Jorouse and Exavis began to secretly support both the Military Police and Task Force Revenir in hunting down ALF and its remnants in the after years.
Not since before the Axis conflict that this had seen true peace.

"And so we end today's class," Professor Thomas Orphen said as the other students eventually stood up and grab their things, he quietly smiled as he looked at his watch and left the classroom as well.
It had been ten years since his batch had graduated from the Academy, fourteen years since the struggle against the ALF and now they were enjoying peace. Many of his peers being able to enjoy new lives but that was not without hardship and struggle.
A small price to pay for a chance of peace.
"Sounds like you had a long day," a voice said behind him. He turned to find his half-sister Petra leaning on the doorway with an amused smile. Thanks to the research made by Oscar, Ester and Nina, they were able to reverse the degeneration of her and Kyle's bodies as a result allowing them to finally live a normal life and as thanks, they offered to become aides to the trio who had become known within Axis for scientific research.

"A little bit," He smiled as he left the room. "What brings you here? Was Oscar asking for more funding again?"
Petra chuckled as she crossed her arms.
"Can't I visit my younger brother?" She teased him, earning a small smile from the Professor who walked alongside him within the hallway.
"No, but when you usually roll in there's always a catch where I'm needed," Thomas replied, which was true. When she and Kyle would show up, there was a fair chance he would get into a fight as it would involve an errand under their orders.
"I mean there's no argument there," Petra laughed as the two caught up.
Within their inner circle, only Thomas and Ren decided to pursue a much more peaceful path by becoming professors within the Academy. Ren on the other hand pursued a simple career of opening up a blacksmith business, this was because both of them shared the same distaste within the years during the ALF conflict but still put to use the things they learned within the Academy.
As mentioned, both Oscar, Nina and Ester pursued the scientific path, with Oscar more or less succeeding Niltria in terms of intellect and along the way Nina had finally begun to adapt to her new life and understanding what it means to be a Human.
Ester on the other hand was more in the Medical field, with her going her way to open new fields of medicine. Plus having a reputation as the woman who managed to reverse the effects caused by the Erbus Gas during the conflict with the ALF helped also.
As for the others.
Louis and Jun joined the Military Police and it was because of their leadership they managed to fully end the ALF Remnants, with the former hunting down and assassinating all the ALF leadership and the latter burning all information and assets that could prove crucial in yet another uprising.

"So how's Lissa?" Thomas asked causing Petra to pause and simply smile.
“Why not ask her yourself?” Petra said pointing to someone behind her.
Thomas raised his eyebrow at her and then turned around to find Lissa walking towards him, in contrast to his Axis academy professor uniform there in front of him was now Lissa in her Task Force Revenir Uniform. Since the ALF Conflict, Revenir was now legitimized as an Anti Terrorist and Peacekeeping Organization that had been respected throughout Axis and their reputation even extends further to both Jorouse and Exavir.
“I’ll give you two some privacy for the time being,” Petra waved at them as she began walking away earning an amused laugh from the two.
“It looks good on you,” Lissa said looking at Thomas with a small smile. “Being a Professor and all.”
“Same goes as being the Commander of Revenir,” Thomas smiled back. “So do you wanna catch up here or at dinner?”
“Only if you’re paying,” Lissa smirked and crossed her arms at him.
“Deal.”

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.
