Lei walked to the door and opened it. The visitor that stood at the doorstep made his heart miss a beat. The moment has finally come! They were finally meeting face to face, but he never imagined it would be in his hostel room. The most and only likely places were on public occasions and events. Nevertheless, it made him feel honored and privileged. It's not common for a person who is considered highly prestigious, most influential and prominent, to stand at your doorstep, especially if you are a low-class member of the society.

"Hello, Lei." Lemarh began with greetings to the visited. Courtesy of the resources that were easily at his disposal, he had already known so much about the person standing before him, including the rumors that the person had the highest level of IQ in the university, some going further to say in the entire country. Among the reasons for his visit was to prove if the person was actually more intelligent than he was.

"Hello, Lemarh." Lei greeted back, looking composed, "It's quite surprising to have somebody like you at my doorstep."

"But not more surprising than somebody like me to stand at a doorstep for..." He briefly glanced at his wristwatch, "... five seconds without an invitation in."

Lei still stood at the door, expressionless, "Maybe somebody like you thinks that everybody should give a damn about."

Lemarh sensed the selection of the words could bring hostility between them. He came back to the person that he was, "I apologize if my words meant any inconvenience." His expression was humble and self-effacing, "I am truly sorry."

Lei felt humbled by the apology, "It's alright." He smiled, "So, what is the nature of your visit?"

"Uhm... can I discuss it inside?"

"Oh, sorry." Lei moved aside with an awkward smile and let the powerful youth into the room, then closed the door.

Lemarh shortly looked around the room before coming back to Lei, "I want to talk to you about the university's football club_"

"I am sorry, Lemarh, but I have already talked to the coach and shared my reasons with him, or rather my friends' and I reasons for not joining the club."

"I understand, but I also came with reasons to change your mind_"

"I don't think if there are reasons to change my mind."

"Just hear me out. Two minutes."

Lei laughed, "Two minutes? You remind me of myself."

Lemarh smiled, "Lei, I am sure of myself_"

"Listen, Lemarh, I am truly sorry. My friends and I want to concentrate only on education and studies."

"Lei, football won't interfere with your education and studies. It is just past time and co-curricular."

"My friends and I have a variety of co-curricular, and we are working on the best in the list. Unfortunately, football is somewhere down the list."

Lemarh now pocketed, "Swimming co-curricular for instance? I saw a clip of what you did to poor Isaac. You are truly extraordinary, Lei."

"I get that a lot."

"And you will get more of it if you will be seen in a football jersey_"

"My point is not to search for attention and approbation." Lei was now calmly sincere, "Lemarh, I am sorry but there is no way you are going to talk me into this."

"I had other plans if words failed_"

"Typical Lemarh. You always believe you can influence anybody on anything, don't you?"

"With the right approach, yes. Everybody has a prize."

Lei stepped forward evocatively, "If you did your homework right, you would know that I am different!"

"That's funny, because there was once a time the UK Prime Minister told me the exact words_"

"Let me hear of your other plan and prove to you that my reputation is far compacted beyond that of any world leader out there."

Lemarh smiled interestedly, "Lei, you are not a very complicated guy. I understand that you are a youth representative in Kibra_"

"Oh, how did I not see that coming?" Lei backchat, banteringly, "I can give you a hand in naming all the possible ways you can buy the Kibra youth leader to the football club. Try me, Lemarh, I have all the time."

Lemarh stared at the youth age-mate for a while. He is truly different! "My idea is not to buy you. Just a proposal."

Laughter escaped Lei, "Now we are on a proposal? I really don't think somebody like me can get the definition of proposal wrong, or maybe it is you who is not as smart as I thought you were. Lemarh, Kibra is still a hard place to live in. Life is pretty hard and challenging there. Everybody knows and understands that. But I still give those people hope... no, not hope, your grandpa gave that to them. He gave them job opportunities.”

“I give and show them the value of hard work. I remind them frequently of the importance of wise decision-making and self-belief. I teach them the right things and they see reasons and sense in them. They hold the highest level of respect and admiration for me, so, there is absolutely nothing you can do to them through me that will add the respect and admiration. It is already at full." Lei once again stepped forward to the rival with conviction, "There is absolutely nothing you can do, Lemarh."

Lemarh now somehow felt admiration and respect towards the age-mate with his remarkable sagacity. In his entire life, he had never met a person who stood firm on his thoughts with belief, enough to challenge Lemarh and come out on top. It made him conclude that the person indeed had more IQ than himself, "Okay, then, I have no choice but to respect your wish and thoughts." He humbly said and started towards the door, "I believe Kibra has a great leader."

Lei smiled at him, "Again, I get that a lot."

Lemarh smiled, too, "Good day."

"Good day." Lei watched him leave until he departed. He had a feeling that he was the first to stay firm until the end in a challenge in front of Lemarh. He smiled to himself on the thought.
