《Between Reality: G.Y Aspect》70: The Little Devil

"Can I go now, I am already full." Bredin said looking at both the sister and Fernandez at an open outdoor restaurant in Paradise Fun. He couldn't wait any more minutes at the lunch table when his peers were having fun back at Paradise Men.
"There are a variety of salads and after meal specials." Fernandez informed him, "Are you sure you want to miss that?"
"I am okay." Bredin pushed back his chair and rose up, "Although...can I have anything else I want?" He specifically looked at Fernandez.
"Sure." Fernandez looked up at him with a smile, "Absolutely anything you want." It is more important to me than even to you. If I make you happy, it will give me a good impression on your sister.
Bredin turned to the sister, thrilled with excitement, "Do me a favour and make sure you pack some cucumber yogurt salad, lots of caramelized French toast with hazelnut ice-cream, my favourite kebabs- you know, the ones with covered cream and egg salad, and...pure vanilla ice-cream, in a tin...big impressive tin." He said and started rushing away.
"JUST WAIT A MINUTE YOU LITTLE DEVIL!" Wanjiku stopped him in disbelief, "Do I look like your slave? And... how and when did you know French foods!"
The brother slowly turned to her, "You are my slave and will continue to be until the big-time owe comes to an end. And the French foods? I told you I have rich friends. Rich good friends."
"Bredin, you got what you wanted. The owe is over." Wanjiku said meaningfully.
Bredin held out his finger and shook it to the sister, "No, no, no, I told you TWO big-time owes. If you didn't hear me that is not my problem, it's your ears'"
Wanjiku now looked at him with sharp eyes, "Bredin, it was one owe, and there is nothing you can do to convince me otherwise."
Bredin put his hands at the waist, his expression mischievous, "Oh, really? You sure I cannot convince you otherwise?"

The sister paused looking at him. She knew the young boy very well. He was the only one in the family born with a master brain that enabled him to do anything brilliantly and smartly. None had ever underestimated him, at least none who knew him well.
Fernandez all along sat quietly with an amused smile enjoying the fun drama between the two siblings. Bredin slowly walked to his back, and put his hands on Fernandez's shoulders, his eyes never leaving the sister, "Siz, are you sure there is nothing I can do, or you rather take back your words and just do me the favour of packing what I have asked?"
Fernandez amusedly looked up at Bredin behind him and back at Wanjiku.
Wanjiku closely maintained at the brother behind Fernandez. This fool can do or say anything stupid! She only stared without a word.
"Final warning, siz." Bredin appeared cunning.
Wanjiku crossed her legs, put her arms crossed over the chest and acted confident, "Bredin, you don't want to do this here. Go back to Paradise Men." She tried to scare him away because she was sure he could put her in an awkward situation at that particular moment- especially when he was that close to Fernandez.
"Then you leave me with no choice." Bredin said then looked at Fernandez, "Buddy, she is a good sister, but there is another one, the eldest. The two usually talk a lot, and sometimes I get to hear what they talk about, even the subjects that I would assume...private_"
"Are you going to waste our time?" Wanjiku said, already with a nervous heartbeat as she was not exactly sure what the brother was up to, "We don't need to hear anything from you."
But Bredin ignored her, "As I was saying, one of the private things I once heard, from her...and of late...is about a boy she admires. A boy she is learning with at the university who is different_"
"Okay, I will make sure what you just mentioned are packed." Wanjiku quickly said, "Now, get out of here!"

"Thank you. You are the best." Bredin happily smiled, then kissed the sister goodbye with his hand before walking away, "Ciao."
"I am sorry about that." Wanjiku awkwardly smiled looking at Fernandez, "That boy is just a devil."
Fernandez amusedly smiled, "No need for any apology. It is perfectly alright. You two seem to get along very well. That is marvelous."
"You can call me odd but I don't see any marvel in somebody who blackmails you to get what he wants."
Fernandez shortly laughed, "You may be right. But I have noticed that he is sort of a genius. He is amusing and clever."
"You are right." Wanjiku sipped a glass of virgin colada on the table, "He is the brainy in the family. I don't know where he got it from, because he even beats my dad in draft and chess games most of the time." She was now with a smile, "You can imagine how my dad loves him, and especially since he is the only boy in the family."
"I can imagine." Fernandez proudly said, "I guess he must be around ten years, right?"
"Eleven, and in grade five."
"I can put my money on him in K-Check."
Wanjiku smiled, "Everybody in the family is eagerly waiting for it, and even he can't wait. I have a feeling he will be crowned the Star."
"There is no doubt about that, since he has ingeniously and successfully blackmailed a Crownzone student."
Wanjiku laughed, "Stop teasing me."
"I am sorry, just saying facts." Fernandez smiled at her.
"I am not proud of it, at least nobody in our family is when he blackmails any of us."
Fernandez still smiled at her, "Okay, I take it back. I am sorry."
"Apology accepted."
Fernandez looked at the beauty in her young tender face. The beautiful chocolate brown complexion simply marveled him whenever it was before his eyes. He still felt thrilled seated with her at a table and enjoying her company. It was a date by chance that flooded him with feelings of elation.
But it suddenly occurred and worried him if he could even say the words to her- words that defined the moments of a touched heart; I would like us to be more than friends. I LOVE YOU! He felt it may be impossible to say the words in front of her while looking at her. The beauty she possessed sometimes made it hard for him to concentrate on some conversations with her.
He always felt drained of confidence when they were conversing on certain topics. But he shook off the thought with a consoling idea that struck him. Maybe a time will come when I will feel wholly comfortable and relaxed in saying anything to her. For now, let us just be friends and share each other's company.
Wanjiku also looked at him with a softened expression. She could clearly see that he had the intention of making her happy. His charm and nature was adorable and attractive, especially to her. He looked loving, respectful, admirable and understanding, but yet she didn't know why she was not feeling a connection with him or anything towards him.
She only saw him as any other person one can interact with. Her feelings were not touched, and it made her wonder how she would respond to him if he asked her to be more than friends. The thought troubled her because she knew for a relationship to be functional, both the parties must feel something towards each other.
But again, another thought emerged and consoled her. Let us continue being friends and maybe time will make me feel something towards him. She was evenly relieved by the thought.
