“Who is it?”
“Someone called Tabby. She says she’s one of the Sleek Felines, sir.”
“The Sleek Felines?! Amazing…” Captain Scheider shook his head in wonder. Could history be about to repeat itself, and they would sneak in at the last minute to grab an unexpected victory? “Put her through!”
“Tabby! Captain Scheider of Hedgehog at your service. It’s great to hear from you.”
“Captain Scheider, Tabby here. Wanting your advice. We heard that these Crawklings were causing a little trouble again. Do we have any updates?”
“We do. Unfortunately we have a stray one heading right for the Pure Centre. It’s not looking good if they know it’s importance.”
“Don’t worry, we are close and will intercept.”
“Perfect,” said Captain Scheider. “No pun intended.”
The radio contact closed and a cheer erupted around the control room. The Sleek Felines, saviours of the Outer Galaxies thousands of years ago had returned during their hour of need. The war was not over.
