Murmurs of hesitance from the knights surround them as Iyuna walks toward a gap in one of the fortifying walls.
"… Not like we have a choice."
One of the paladins stumbles while giving a nervous expression.
"W-wait! We can't even get anywhere near the plains without being shot at! We should wait for mage reinforcements and—"
Calina's eyes glare toward him as he takes a step back with unease.
Another paladin walks over to him and puts a hand on his shoulder.
"You needn't worry. They're our ace when situations like this arise. The Vermilion Defense."
Yanami blows him and kiss while winking. "Don't you worry about a thing! Once we're finished, wait for a large breath of blue flames in the air, you'll be ready to advance by then~."
Calina's eyes shift forward as she's the last to break from the broken wall.
As soon they're all situated on the other side, they start running towards the castle with remarkable speed. Two individuals wearing black cloaks poke their heads from the leftmost tower facing the advancing party while raising their staffs.
Iyuna jumps into the air toward Calina as she puts both her hands near their stomach. Iyuna's boots clamp onto her palm, and she's thrust high into the air.
"Me next! Me next!" Yanami jumps, overjoyed with starry eyes.
Calina nods as the dragoness jumps into the air and lands her feet acutely within Calina's hands. She then lowers her arms towards her abdomen and boosts her high into the air, aimed at the rightmost tower.
Iyuna starts to create pillars of ice in the air jumping from one to the other.
The two mages on the left tower start to produce red runic circles around them.
"FIRE!" The mages release a bombardment of fireballs toward the Princess. She creates a large enough pillar to throw herself in the air as her eyes start to give off a blueish glow.

—BOOM
The entirety of the left tower wall and its tower are desecrated by a large cylinder of ice.
"TAKE AIM!" The mages on the right side of the tower started to create brown runic symbols as shards of rock lunged toward Yanami.
Yanami maneuvers mid-air while her tail starts to increase in size. She then slams her elongated tail into the tower along with the mages.
Calina dashes toward the drawbridge leading to the brass-gated entrance.
—Clump Clump Clump
Her feet heave over the wooden bridge as she shields her body with her forearm.
Several guards look toward her stationed on the other side of the gate.
"Where is she?…."
The guards had no time to react as she slammed into the metal gate.
—CREAAK
The gate breaks from its enclosure and starts to fall inwards.
"Wha… Wait!"
—SPLAT
A few of the guards unfortunate enough to be in front of the gate are crushed by the heavy alloyed bars.
"HAAA!" A knight lunges a sword behind Calina; Her body twists to the side, eluding the attack while using the momentum to drive her elbow into his head.
The knight's helmet shattered as he fell to the ground with blood extruding from the openings of his armor.
"Gah… What?!" A group of knights back away from Calina while looking towards the left side of the castle.
—SHING SHING SHING
Several large spiked ice shards start to form from the insides of the walls and shoot out toward the group of knights. Screams of panic can be heard within the castle walls as the spikes have human limbs and tints of red on them as they exit the stone surface.
"We're under attack!"
"Someone help!"
"GAAAH!" A man with a pike lunges toward Calina. The tip of his spear grazes her backside as she moves under his weapon and plunges a punch into his chest.

—GUSH
Her hand makes a clean cut into his rib cage.
She takes her hand from his chest and looks towards the right.
"AAAHHH!"
Several men run out of the castle walls covered in blue flames screaming in a frenzy; Some even jump from windows rather than dying from suicide than being tortured by the indigo flames that engulf their bodies.
Yanami can be seen through an open window breathing out a ferocious flame covering the entire hallway.
A mage appears from atop one of the castle walls with green runic symbols surrounding him.
"TAKE THIS!"
The mage throws an onslaught of wind attacks that slice the air.
—THUMP
Calina's left arm falls to the floor as her armor obtains multiple cuts.
"GOT YOU NOW!" A broad man in leather silver armor jumps towards her with a large battle axe.
Calina raises my hand and clasps the axe in between her palm while smirking.
"Ha… Seriously? This the best you can do?"
Her hand clenches the axe harder as it shatters toward the ground. She throws her face forward and grabs a large piece of metal between her teeth, driving it into the knight's abdomen.
—Gush
"GAAH!" He drops to the ground holding his chest while gasping for air.
She places her armored foot onto his head and looks towards the mage who attacked her prior.
"You may have magic on your side, but what's the point if that's your only advantage."
—CRACK CRUNCH
Blood flows in excess onto the ground beneath her steel boot.
"You monster!" The mage raises his staff in the air as green runes start to form around him.
Calina lunges towards the castle wall while driving her fists on the surface to pull herself up.
The mage looks angst towards the ground as his target escapes his vision.
"Where did she go—"
—CRASH
Calina's hand grab's his leg from the outside of the wall, repeatedly slamming it into the crevice as if she was trying to fit it through.
—CRUNCH CRACK CRUNCH
"GAAAAH!"
He screams in pain as his limb is torn clean off his body. She pulls herself onto the ledge of the castle wall and looms over him.
"S-Stay back!" He yells as he frisks his staff in front of her.
Her left leg extends, and kicks the staff from his grasp.
A large ball of blue fire is blown into the air behind her. Soon after, a large ambush of battle cries is heard as their ranks charge toward the castle.
Calina's eyes meet with the mage as he backs away in fear. The blood from his missing limb leads to a reddened trail.
"You're going to answer some questions for me… Or you die."

FREE (Free Reality Engagement Engine) is a new virtual reality game engine that completely gets rid of the limitations that all previous VR games had to deal with. The company that made the engine announced the launch of the first game created on it simultaneously, called FREE World. Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
