Bad Hunt

When Uncle Polo told me that we'd have to hunt for our next meal, I didn't think it would have been this hard. It's been 3 days since the last time I ate. Not a single animal has been found between. We split up after day 1. This Sky island doesn't look as large as it is. This place is massively expensive. I’ve probably gone in circles more times than I can count.

What I noticed was that there were sounds in the bushes when I would try to sleep. So I figured that the animals must be nocturnal. So tonight i'm going to stay up to see if I can catch it,

Before I knew it the sun was set, I couldn't see more than 10 feet ahead of me, And it wasn't even like I could use ki. The suit I put on blocked all Ki usage. And it wasn't like Nyle wanted to help me either. Every time I tried to reach out to him he said that he wasn't going to let me take the easy path. So he blocked me out of entering my own soul. For just an “Installer” he has an awful amount of control over me. Like malware or even a trojan horse.

A loud thump fell from a tree. I saw it was an animal! I blasted off making sure to pull out my dagger. I was crazed from my involuntary starvation. It was a large ape. Its orange fur blew with rage. The large ape looked like it hadn't eaten in days either, Its rib cage showing. And before I could lunge myself at him he was launching his own poop at me with what looked like a slingshot, I avoided all but 2 of the 5 shit shots. Luckily it was only on my legs, This left him open for me to come up for an attack. Running up and leaping in the air ready to stab its face. Only to be slammed into the wall by another animal. It was a wolf carrying a sword in its mouth. It was the same one as Leo’s.

The monkey slapped me across my face. And as I was readying to punch him I saw it was Ty!

“What are you doing marco!

“I dont know.”

I looked at Ty with a look of regret,

“You would have killed Ty if I didn't tackle you marco.”

“I'm sorry Ty.”

I went and explained how I saw them as animals and how I probably have gone a little insane after not eating.

“ We haven't eaten either.’ Ty said

“We have found animals however” Leo said with a sound of annoyance.

“ They hear us before we even see them.”

“It's like you'd have to be a ghost in order to catch anything here.”

“Sound like you guys have it rough out here” I said

“Have you tried sneaking your way to them”

“It wouldn't work” Ty said

“Even if we could be completely silent or remove our smell. They are too fast for our bodies to catch without Ki”

“That just means we’ll have to train our bodies to be completely silent and faster” Leo said

He said that our suits started talking.’

“Congratulations on passing stage 1 of this course, Ki removers are being let go. Ki usage is still prohibited any Ki signature detected will cause a cerebral shock leaving you incaspitated.”

I could feel my Ki coming back. but realizing what was going to happen didnt stop anything. I felt like a rabbit being hunted. The presence resurigng in me nearly made me black out.

“Are you okay Marco? You look like your having trouble” Ty stated.

Was he looking down on me? He and Leo seemed to not have any trouble retaining their Ki.

I could feel my muscles starting to tighten. Before I could grunt in pain my whole body collapsed.

“Hey are you okay Marco!?”

What? I was infront of my apartment building. It was bright out, But the sun was missing out of the sky. The door eerily slide open. But what I saw.. Was horrifying. My mothers body plastered on the wall.

“Why didnt you save me marco?” My mothers body spoke.

My body was too stunned to speak?

“How could you let this happen?”

“I-”

I couldnt let out a word. My body was tense. My hand was fidgeting out of fear.

Then. My mother opened her mouth. No words were left her body. But the large black man was climing out of her mouth. He gave me a smile that would frighten most Psycho’s. The toothy grin with the raised eye brows. His face spoke to me more than any words could. He was bragging. Boasting that he was the one who murdered my mother.

The next moment I was gasping for air. I was in my bed? Was all of that just a horrid nightmare. I heard my mom humming like she did every morning. I let out a smile while I opened my door. Only to see the same sight… My mothers dead body. Only for life to flicker back to her humming. She was feeding my sister. Their smiles made me happy once again. I went to run and hug my mother. As I was about to touch her life flickered once again.

Looking down I saw a massive hole in my chest. The same type of hole my mother had. I looked up to see the man defiling my mothers body. Ripping off her fingers. My mother looked cold and lifeless. The man was histerlicly laughing.

I couldnt handle it. My brain was going to burst. The influx of emotions I was suppressing were finally resurfacing. Who am I. Why am I seeing this again. Wasnt the first time bad enough.

I blinked at it stopped, everything was black and dark. I was once again inside of my own soul. Looking back at me was a white entity, the eerie smile made me step back.

“Nyle?” I said

The entity stared at me. Shutting its grin and staring at me. It had no eyes and was made our of light that had no glare. Tilting its head as it started walking towards me. I tried to take a step back but I ran into a wall. I was no longer in the pitch black area anymore. No this was a room with dark red wall with what looked like a prison cell’s window. A low to the ground bed with no sheets on the right hand side. And a single desk with a book on it.

The entity stared at me. Its lack of eyes made it off putting to look at it. It pointed at the book.

It uttered “Read”

I heard no voice come out of his mouth. No, it was shouted inside my own mind. Like it was apart of me.

I walked towards the book. It was a black book with a red circle in the center of the front cover.

The title was… my name.

“Read!” It said once again

I opened the book but every page was blank but i still understood everything it was trying to tell.

The book was recap of what happened before I closed my eyes. The horrific events seared into my mind by reading this.

I felt a slight breath on my neck. There it was. Its mouth was mere inches from my neck.

“Good” it said. As it bit into my neck. I felt no pain but my body fell backwards. As I hit the ground I it felt like I landed on my feet.

Holding my shoulders and staring deeply into my eye’s

“Can you let me go?” I said

“Im sorry man but your eyes looked like they were vibrating and your pupils were missing t. You. Are you okay man?”

“I- dont know…:

“Just give him some space leo, He was obviously going through some shit he dont want to talk about”

I gave Ty a smile.

Some time had past and Ty and Leo wanted to give hunting a try again.

We were jumping from tree to tree to make sure to not make any sounds on accident on the ground. I noticed some of the trees had palm shaped imprints on them. Almost the size of my head. But that isnt the only weird thing I saw. There were small animals plastered on the imprints. Guts of small animals that looked recent aswell.

Then when I saw it. A large ghostly animal. It had a shell on back that covered its spine that travled upto its forehead. Big eye brows that pushed against its shell. It had a large thick tail that was more like a mace the way it was presented. Its Long arms letting it swing from each branch. . It was eating the flowers that grew towards the top of these trees.

I didnt even have time to tell the others before it vanished..

A grey blur appeared infront of Ty. Its massive hand grabbed Ty’s head throwing him down to the ground. You could hear the ground break as He let out a gutteral yeep.

The next to be targeted was Leo. He was already pulling out his sword. The Monkey twisted its torso and once again vanished just to appear behind Leo as a grey blur. It pushed its palm into the center of Leo’s back launching him past a couple trees. The next one it was going to be me.

But as it once again twisted its body time seemed to slow down. It was as if the whole world slowed down Me included, I saw as it smashed the air to launch its self behind my and it spun its body to face my and it smack the air again to stop. It was going to hit me the same way he hit Leo. I think I can dodge this. I was ona tree branch. I buckled my legs to make my fall toward the branch. As my body fell towards the branch as the Monkeys paw was now heading towards my head. I just barley dodged it as it nicked my pale wheat hair.

I focused my strength into launching my self towards the Monkey.

But it was to not avail. It went from my back side to my front side before I couldnt see and it released its palm that had a pale white aura. A loud crackling boom released as it hit my chest launching me backwards into a another tree. The tree top above where I landed cracked and fell over landing in some bushed causing some animals to run out the way. The Monkey just stared at me as I saw leo jump up right behind it and slash the thing on its back.

It let out a extremely loud cry as Leos blade dug into it back stopping at its shelly spine.

The Monkey contorted its body and it vanished out of sight. Leo seemed to know the direction it went. And of he went. Just as fast as the Monkey he vanished, I looked down at the ground and saw Ty laying on the ground unconscious. He was bleeding but it wasnt that bad just a little stream running from his nose.

Then I saw it… 3 more monkeys were standing the branch I was just at. The one in the middle was hunched over with a walking cane,

“We come asking for your help”
