《World's Order》Chapter 18.1

No! Not yet! I can’t get caught yet! Just not yet!! – Noah thought just as his legs began to tire out.
Trying to make a fast break, he dragged his right angle forward, and at the same time he stopped, he took a strong left stride going left.
He groaned in pain due to the abrupt force that his right ankle had to endure, but he couldn’t let it rest.
Sadly though, even after all that, the feeling of a predator fast behind him still didn’t change, in fact, it started to grow stronger.
The pressure seemed to have taken a toll on Noah as his vision started to close in. But, as the warden stretched out his hand, momentarily almost touching him, a spark ignited within him. It was similar to gears that had suddenly clicked into place, where without even noticing it, he leaned his upper torso to the right, watching as the warden’s finger stride forward.
Without even noticing, the warden retracted his hand back, placing it in a defensive position. His brows furrowed, widening his eyes. How did he do that? – he thought before realizing what his body just did. What!? Why did my body react like that!? This kid… just how was he able to make my body move this way.
While running, Noah was suddenly feeling something strange. Why does it feel like I can see behind me? It’s like I can see his presence, the form of his body, but not details like the eyes or nose…
Confused, he cast a quick glance back and noticed two blazing yellow lights on the warden’s devilish black distorted, but something was different, but something was different, it seemed more terrifying than before. His eyelids began to twitch, and chills enveloped his entire body. Why is he scarier now than before…?

With each stride, the warden increased the tension on his legs until he exceeded the strength limit that he set for himself, mumbling along the way, “Let’s stop questioning things and just end this, I need to get ready before he arrives.”
The distorted darkness which once encompassed the warden began to envelop the chamber, starting with the person before him, Noah. It swallowed up his right hand first, slowly enveloping closer to his chest.
Noah panicked, eyes widen, teeth clenched, but strangely he never stopped running. Why is that darkness now eating me…? What will happen if it fully envelops my body… – he questioned internally.
Looking down, the warden saw Noah’s feet starting to stagger. When he reached an adequate distance, he decided to end this game of tag with a low sweep.
However, without Noah noticing, whilst still focused on the darkness, his body jumped.
What!? – Was the first thought the warden had when he saw Noah’s leap – His body keeps moving like that… it’s impossible he changed in one day this drastically, there’s only one answer to this…
Immediately the darkness which began to envelop Noah disappeared, and the next thing he knew, he was in the air, the warden’s leg to his bottom left, dragged on the ground.
(1 minute passed)
He landed a few centimeters in front of the warden, close to reaching the corner of the room, and he knew if he reached the corner, he’d be apprehended, thus losing this ‘game’. There was only one single way he thought of which could get him out of this situation.
Stopped, Noah came to a halt before turning back and rushing at a full-on sprint back. Running towards the door in a straight diagonal.
What!? What’s he doing? – the warden thought. Is he relying on that again…? Well… I’d like to see if that would work.

When Noah got close, he made a flinching action, about to jump to the left of the warden to get away. The warden reacted immediately, moving his entire body in the way where Noah was about to go. However, it was a fake, a ruse one could say, taking advantage of the warden’s heightened senses.
I know I can’t beat you in speed nor in strength so I’ll just have to force a path of my own – Noah internally shouted while running past him.
The warden’s visage was left with a surprising shock while the immense bloodlust he exuded this whole fight for a split moment came to a halt. The warden thought – To think he would use my senses against me… I never expected a boy at his age to ever have this sort of plan, even the other one was never this quick-witted. He is definitely someone to be careful of in the future.
Although he did earn the respect of the warden, he was still being chased by a devilish man with a demonic grin, and an immeasurable amount of bloodlust.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
