《Mission Jurassic [Zach Mitchell x Male!Reader]》Chapter 22

You, Zach, Gray and Claire all relaxed on the seats. While Gray slept beside Claire, you and Zach huddled together. Both your fingers intertwined, reminiscing on previous events. Around you, there were other survivors. Some of them were fine while others were severely injured. You thought about all the others that didn't make it. It was sad but there was nothing else that could be done.
"Hey, look," Claire said, catching the boys' attention. "It's your parents."
You saw the man and the woman approach them cautiously. The woman was crying while the man was on the verge of tears. You loosened yourself so that Zach and Gray could be reunited with them. The last thing you saw was his dad giving Zach a hug. It made you think of your dad, and all the missed opportunities you could've had with him.
"Hey," Donnie's voice caught your attention. "You made it."
"Yep," You nodded solemnly.
"Thank god it's over." He sighed.
"Well, not quite," You noted, "Hoskins is dead, but we still need to find Wu. He's still out there with the DNA."
"Yeah, I know." Donnie frowned before smiling a little. "But, hey, at least you completed your first mission. We gotta celebrate!"
"I'm taking a long ass nap as my celebration." You smirked.
"You deserve it." You heard your mom say. You flinched at her sudden appearance.
"What are you doing here?" You finally asked.
"I'm here to pick up my son." She smiled, "I'm so glad you're alive."
"I knew I could do it." You smiled proudly while crossing your arms. "Now I can go on more missions, right?"
"Absolutely," Your mom nodded. "But as you said, you need rest."

You beamed brighter. You always dreamed of this moment, and now it was finally coming true. You then sighed softly. "I'm guessing Donnie told you all the details." You stated, watching him chat with another guy.
"And, Barry too." She added, "He told me about how you helped out two boys."
You then turned back to look at the brothers. A soft smile appeared when your gaze was on Zach. "I had to help them." You stared back at your mom. "They needed me."
"I figured as much." Your mom agreed with a smile. "I'm glad that you did."
"Do you think Dad would be proud?" You asked, your voice was soft.
"He was proud of you before you were even born." She smiled sadly, caressing your face. "He's probably ten times more proud now."
Tears began trickling down your eyes. Dad is proud of me, you thought to yourself with a smile. As you wiped them away, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around and saw it was Zach. Your mom excused herself so that you two could be alone.
"Hey," Zach smiled shyly, pushing his hands into his pockets.
"Hi," You grinned back. Your heart was beating.
"I just wanted to say thank you for helping us, and, um," He stuttered, "I, um, uh, I really like you, and I was hoping that I can, um, get your number and--"
You leaned in and then kissed him again. However, this time, Zach was ready. You wrapped your arms around his waist as he held your face tenderly. The kiss lasted a little bit longer, but eventually, he let go. Both of you had smiles on your faces.
"Yeah," You beamed, "You can have my number and then we can go out on dates too."
"That's...awesome." Zach breathed out a smile. Despite being surrounded by many people, it felt like you two were the only ones in there. You couldn't wait to do all those things you'd promised. You couldn't wait to start on new missions either. You knew that one day you'd have to tell Zach about your double life, but for now, you wanted to enjoy the moment with him at Jurassic World.

Beneath No Sky: Chronicles of the Atmospheric Sector
After bringing themselves back from the brink of annihilation, humanity's future seemed bleak. However, it's remnants, throwing aside the old order and donning a new mantle of progress aimed to rise above their ancient disputes and go forward as one. Once the Earth reached it's natural limit, and colonies around Terra and Luna had shown promising results, humanity finally decided to make the move to the stars. Believing this to be the start of a new age, they eagerly poured across the solar system and further beyond, greeting what space had to offer with hope and optimism. It was misplaced, however, for humanity's traditional quarrels soon resurfaced and engulfed a now interplanetary empire of many races. As the Earth Empire burned and an intense depression overtook the once optimistic people, some held out hope. They theorized that their problems were born of an inherent sense of home and, in order to rid humanity, now comprising of the Terrans as well as all the other known species of the galaxy, of this burden, decided to move far away from civilized space, into uncharted depths, to start anew. Some 200 years have passed since then, and those hopeful ones have finally found a place to settle on. Firmly planting their flag in paradise, they called this untouched land "Eden" and declared the beginning of a true new age, the age of After Eden.Trouble, however, seemed to still be hounding them, as barely three years after its founding, Eden finds itself at war with a seemingly uncommunicative and uncompromising enemy that far outclasses the odd pirates they were used to facing. A new era of peace, marked by an immediate conflict. Time will tell if Eden, the Grand Experiment, truly is as great as it's supposed to be. ---------------------------------------- This is a sci-fi, character driven, military space drama. Multiple POV protagonists and lots of unnecessary detail. Somewhat psychological. My first work on this website. The Crisis on Planet 9
Welcome to the dream colony Planet 9, where the streets are stained by blood and the buildings are filled with human remains. The creatures roaming among the abandoned cars and flying vehicles resemble almost to perfection the mindless cannibalistic zombies born from the fictional nightmares of mankind. The cities were built in the retro style of the 21st century, but the technology of the 24th century is ever present, mostly within the bodies of those mortally challenged monstrosities. After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Originally, they were meant to heal them and help them access the tech around them, but now they were the origin of this disaster. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them. A young teacher at the local Resonance High, foolish and naive in his own way, but now driven by the Sapient AI in the nanobots inside his body to hunt down other Nano-Z and learn how to survive. For now, his only goal is to become strong enough and rejoin his students and fellow colleagues, foolishly hoping to somehow be able to get back to the time when the undead did not rule the streets. Will Kardian be able to survive in this new savage world or will his naive outlook lead him to a dead end? Volume 1 can be bought on Amazon: Resonance High
