《Charm [NamjoonxReader]》Chapter 3

"T-thank you," I whispered softly while picking up the charm to look at it closely.
"It's really bad compared to yours," Namjoon chuckled. "But it still worked."
"I-I guess it d-did," I stated with a soft smile, feeling my cheeks heat up a little.
"Y/n?" Namjoon asked in a bashful tone. "Could you maybe... Teach me how to make them better?"
I glanced down at the charm, then back at Namjoon. Finally, I gave him a soft nod.
"Great!" He called with an ecstatic expression. "I'll just go home with you this afternoon, then."
Before I could respond, our teacher walked into the classroom.
"Okay kids," he called while slamming something down on his desk. "Pow-wow time is over, get out of here."
Namjoon and I packed up our stuff and began our journey home.
-=+=-
"I-I think my m-mother is asleep," I whispered while walking through the hall toward my room with Namjoon following closely behind me.
As we got inside, I sat on my bed and Namjoon sat at my desk. Even though I still wasn't used to people in my room, I knew that Namjoon wasn't going to do anything bad.
"S-so," I began quietly. "We'll need some paper."
Namjoon stared up at me silently like he had just seen a ghost.
"W-what?" I asked while turning around to see if there was something behind me.
"You-" he began but quickly changed his mind. "Never mind."
"W-what is it?" I asked, feeling anxiety rise in my stomach.
"You didn't stutter," he stated softly.
"Oh," I whispered. "I d-don't usually in my b-bedroom, but s-s-s" I paused for a second, trying to get the word out. "S-s-s"
I quickly buried my face in my hands, red in embarrassment. "N-nevermind."
"It's okay," Namjoon said softly with a patient smile. "Do you mind if I could have some water?"

I nodded before standing up.
"No," he mumbled while pointing at my bed. "Stay here and just tell me where the kitchen is."
"I-it's to the l-left of the front d-door," I directed.
"Thanks," he said with a soft smile. "Also, there's paper in my bag if you want to get some out."
I nodded before walking toward his school bag.
After rummaging around a little, I found a small notebook at the bottom of his bag.
I slowly pulled it out of the bag and opened it to the first page to see if I could use the pages.
The first page was completely full of writing. I had guessed that Namjoon's handwriting would be messier than what was presented to me but was pleasantly surprised with the neatness. I could tell he took time with every letter, like each of them was equally important.
|There are ideas we had, that we no longer know. There are places we've been that we no longer go, there are things we learn that we don't want to know and there are people we love that we have to let go. |
My eyes trailed up to the doorway. Namjoon was standing in front of me silently with two cups of water in his hands.
"D-did you write these?" I asked quietly.
He placed both of the cups on my desk before sitting beside me on my bed.
"I wish I did," he chuckled. "Please don't tell anyone about these."
"W-why not?" I asked, even though I would never have any motive to tell anyone about his book.
"Hobi would destroy me if he knew I kept a collection of 'poems'," Namjoon grumbled.
"I g-guess everyone collects something," I mumbled.
"So you don't think it's weird?" Namjoon asked while taking the book out of my hand. I quickly shook my head. "Then what's with the weird look you're giving me?"

"I-I just don't u-understand," I mumbled.
"Don't understand what?"
"What it means," after I spoke Namjoon gave me a small smile of accomplishment like he was proud of me for not stuttering.
"It doesn't mean anything yet," Namjoon explained. "I don't think everything should have a meaning."
I stared up at him, confused.
"Sometimes, people should simply appreciate something for its beauty, rather than its 'deep meaning'," I nodded softly. What he was saying did make sense.
Namjoon seems smarter than I expected. I guess he just can't show it when hanging out with the people he hangs out with.
"Most pretty things start off as a nice sight and over time gain a meaning," Namjoon concluded. "I guess that's what I'm trying to do with this book."
"G-gain meaning?" I asked quietly.
"I guess," Namjoon sighed.
I stared up at him silently. All of a sudden, Namjoon became a person I wanted to know, rather than an annoying guy who followed me home one day.
"N-namjoon," I rushed.
He hummed in response while flipping to the back of his book for an empty page.
"C-can we be f-f-f"
Why now?
"F-f-f," Namjoon could tell I was getting frustrated with each attempt of the word.
Quickly, he grabbed his poorly crafted charm and placed it in my hand.
"Relax," he said softly.
I nodded quickly before trying again.
I don't think I have ever asked anyone this question before.
"Can we b-be friends?"
Namjoon stared down at me silently for a few seconds.
Is that a no?
He smiled at the ground weakly before placing his attention back on me.
"Yeah," he stated softly. "I'd like that."
"G-great!" I announced before getting up and beginning to rummage through my desk, obviously flustered.
"What do we need to make a charm?" He asked while watching me pull out the materials.
"Paper, s-string, a needle, a p-p-pen and scissors," I explained while pointing to each item.
-=+=-
"I did it!" Namjoon yelled while holding his newly made charm in the air. He had band-aids all over his fingers from the needle part, as well as the fact that we had to start over multiple times.
He proudly presented it to me with a huge smile, showing his dimples.
I stared down at the charm silently before directing my gaze back up at Namjoon.
"I-it's actually pretty good," I stated softly.
"Do you want me to hang it up?" Namjoon asked while standing up from my desk chair.
I shook my head while taking it out of his hands.
"I'd l-like to keep it on m-me if you don't mind,"
Namjoon nodded with a soft smile. I glanced out the window, it was pitch black outside.
"We that took longer than expected," Namjoon chuckled. I nodded softly while glancing at a small clock I keep on my desk, it read 8:53.
"Well," I mumbled. "I g-guess you should g-go home."
Namjoon nodded in agreement before picking up his bag.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he stated with a small wave.
"B-b-bye," I said in response. Namjoon glanced down at the floor and back up at my face.
Why isn't he leaving?
"Y/n," he almost whispered.
I hummed in response.
"I'm kinda glad I broke that charm," he admitted. I stared at him silently, waiting for him to elaborate. "None of this wouldn't have happened if I wasn't so stupid."
I giggled softly at his remark.
"Stay s-stupid then."
"Will do!" Namjoon announced before turning away and walking out of my bedroom.
I sat on my bed silently and smiled to myself while staring at the floor.
I'm glad you broke it too.

AK - The Alchemy Kingdom
Karl always wanted to be a Mage. He was born in the Serion Kingdom, a fully pledged magic Kingdom. Seems like a perfect match, right? Unfortunately, no. He's just a commoner, working endlessly to maintaining the lifestyle of Mages. On his 15th birthday, his last chance to escape from a miserable life was destroyed when he was deemed to have no magic potential. For thousands of Serion's citizens that would be the end of their dreams. But how could this story be any fun, ending like that? Follow Karl and his friends while they tried to fight against the Kingdom's oppression. Will the system bend them to submission or will they break the chains of destiny? Spoiler alert: After thousands of years, an ancient Magic system will be reborn in the small Caiset village. What should you expect? - Kingdom Building: For sure! The heavy lifting will come later, I promise! Foundation is important, please be patient; - Epic battles: A Kingdom is not built without war and conflict. Who doesn't like good fights? Let's bring some excitement to this novel!; - Multiple leading characters: Karl convinced them to get on the bus, but this is a very long trip and everyone will need to drive a little; - Scientific Magic System: Especially Alchemy! I'm in no way trying to take the fantasy out of Magic. I just feel like trying to do something more logical. I'll probably stumble on a fine line, but I’m counting on you to keep me on track!; - World Building: I’m using some basic concepts from traditional Fantasy Worlds and trying to add some nice touches to make it unique; - Fun?: I'll try to insert some humor into the story, but that’s an experience we will go through together. Other points I find important: Alchemy is mostly crafting magic tools, but it will go a little further down the road. Even if you don't like crafting, weapon enhancing and whatnot, don’t give up on the novel. You might be surprised about Alchemy's reach later. Also, other types of Magic will play an important role here, just not the leading role. ......... Check out my two spin-off novels, Merchant Queen and Harbinger of Death! Both are independent novels, but with the same world setting... Maybe some crossover later... Either way, you can check them to get additional information on worldbuilding and hidden plots... Please leave a comment! If you want to help me more, support me on Patreon. I'm always trying to come up with new ways for you to participate in this journey. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia
"Why are my hands getting warmer?" As far as Alicia was concerned, she was the daughter of a rich businessman attending high school. Then, she feels off and at the same time, she's not. One week later, her best friend brought her to another world(s). This is Alicia Bell's tale. 1st book written in the Wizards of the Otherworldly series. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo. Crossposted with Wattpad, WordPress, Sufficient Velocity, and Rainobu.
