《The Princess' Messenger》Part 10

Jungkook was quiet for a long time. The boat was floating in the mid-sea. He tried to understand you. He understood how possessive you were. How scared you were when you didn't receive the usual attention.
The fear of being abandoned and replaced was noticed by him. He chuckled to himself. "Are you still dreaming about your Princess?" Mina asked.
"What were you doing then? Were you dreaming about your Prince?" he asked. She sadly chuckled. "Thinking about it, he never promised anything. It was on the edge and I realized that he was just relying on me just like friends", she said.
"Weren't you both close?" he asked. "We were close and he shared a lot of stuff with me. I think I took the wrong signal", she said. "Was that the reason you warned me?" he asked. She nodded.
"But Princess seems different towards you. Like she is sincere", she said. "I don't know, we are in the same boat. Wait we are actually in the same boat", he chuckled. "You think you are funny, you are lame", she laughed.
"How did you and Jimin Hyung become close?" Jungkook asked. "Prince should have told him about me and my family. Sometimes, I give him messages from Jimin and vice versa", she said.
"I see", he replied. The rest of the ride went with their bickerings and personal lives. On the other hand, you were travelling back home. On the way, you visited temples and prayed for your father's health.
That's when a piece of news came to you. You never believed it till you saw it with your own eyes. "Y/n, how are you?" the voice you were longing to hear finally rang in your ears. "Namjoon", you almost teared up.
He is here finally. The brother whom you thought abandoned you were standing in front of you. "What a relief! You remember me", you gave a sarcasm. "I am sorry", he chuckled. The soldiers were watching the siblings' emotional and sarcastic moments.
"How are you?" you asked him. "I am good. We have to catch up a lot", he said. Both of you settled in a temple hall. All other soldiers and guards gave you both privacy. He briefly shared what happened with him all these days.

You did the same. You also informed him that Jungkook has gone to bring Taehyung, if possible. Namjoon nodded. "Good work", he smiled at you.
"Now tell me, why were you avoiding us?" you pouted. "It's nothing y/n. We had to take care of a lot of things. Our grandfather was overprotective towards me. He was the one who held me back", he chuckled.
"I thought so. I should have visited him directly. Instead of writing tons of letters to you", you scoffed. "Was that the only reason? Isn't it because of Chang Mi?" you asked. You know what you did.
Even though you did it for everyone's good, you know that it must have hurt him. He just smiled. "I am okay now", he smiled. "I am sorry", you bit your lips. You were slowly falling in love.
You started to feel how it would be if someone strongly opposes your decision. "For what?" he asked. "I was the one who split you up", you said. He softly caressed your head. "Don't worry about it.
You did the right thing. If I got married to her then everything would have become a mess", he said. "Still, you liked her", you said. "Y/n, do you know why people cheer for us when they see us?" he asked. "Why?" you asked.
"For a cruel King, they hail because of fear; for a good one they hail out of love", he said. "I hold the responsibility for these people's lives. I believe they love us. I want to keep going that way", he said. You smiled at him.
"You will be the best King", you said. "Stay by my side then", he said. You chuckled. "Of course, I will", you said. "I was a little excited about meeting Jungkook. I guess I should wait", he said.
You slightly blushed at the mention of his name. "He is in charge of some impossible missions and he nails it", you said. "Of course, he is my friend, after all", he was proud of him. "What made you apologize to me?" he asked.
"I don't know. It's just what I thought from your point of view. Also, it looks like Taehyung has someone", you said. "Someone?! You mean Yuri", he said. "No, she is Mina. Her family serves us and they live on the south coast", you said.

He slightly chuckled. "I wonder who Taehyung would choose,'' he said. "I don't even know what to do. If he chooses Mina over Yuri, then we are done", you said. "Mina's father would be in a rage. He would cut all the ties with us", you said.
"Also, Yuri might even lose her mind", you said. You worried about her. She is in love with him. She is waiting for him patiently. "How did Yuri come into the picture out of all other Princesses?" he asked.
"It's him. He was the one who led her '', you said, annoyed. "What?! Taehyung?" he asked. "They know each other well. Taehyung stayed in her palace for some work in the past.
That's when her father asked about his interest in the marriage. He neither denied nor accepted. He said it's the King who should decide. He will oblige that '', you said. "Who knows he will run away after that?" you said. "Interesting", he chuckled. "Is this funny?" you asked.
"Kind of", he said. "Brother, do you even picture what would happen next if he rejects her completely?" you asked. "What else? Compromising him with something", he said. "That would be you! He will ask you to make her the Queen'', you smiled.
Namjoon finally understood the situation. "She is like my little sister", he said. "Will they care?" you asked. "Taehyung ah", he also chanted his name. "Anyway, for now, let's concentrate on our father's health", he nodded.
"I think our grandfather would also have arrived", he said. He reached the temple and you welcomed him. "How are you, little tigress?" he asked. "I am not good without my grandpa tiger", you chuckled.
"This girl, you grow up well. Still, you look like a kid to me", he said, laughing. The guards and soldiers envied you. You are the only person in the royal family who can go anywhere and do anything. No one ever said no to you.
You were cherished for your knowledge and intelligence. Everyone would listen to you if you are going to give an opinion. You were close to your grandfather to the point where even Namjoon or Taehyung would maintain some distance.
You never had any boundary. "Why didn't you visit my mother? Why didn't you let my brother as well?" you asked, pouting a bit. "That palace is not safe for your brother. I wonder what got into General Lee and his family.
They are joining hands with so many strangers' ', he said. "What else? They want the throne. That's why Namjoon should take the position immediately", you said.
"They want the throne with blood. Through an unknown source we confirmed that they attempted to murder your brother multiple times", he said. You widen your eyes. You couldn't control your heartbeat. It was thumping like crazy.
"It's a good thing that you sent Jungkook to bring Taehyung. You three should be together no matter what", he said. You knew that they were eyeing the throne but killing your brother with assassins is something beyond your imagination.
"If it was confirmed that General Lee is behind this, I will never spare their lives", you gritted your teeth. "Don't worry y/n. Nothing will happen to me. They can't do anything inside the palace", he said. A guard came to give emergency news to you.
"It's a huge problem", he said. "What is it?" you asked. "They imposed the arrest warrant on Prince Taehyung", he said. "What the hell?! Why?" you asked. "He is raising an army against the King. It's the King's order to bring him for committing the treason", he said.
"They also imposed an arrest warrant if necessary to also kill Jungkook who is going to help him", he said. Namjoon clenched his jaws. "I am going to kill you with bare hands", you muttered thinking about Chang Mi.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

A Different Kind of Hero (-)
Have you ever been abandoned? Forsaken by the people you saw every day? Lucas was an average boy, if you were to even call him that. He was weaker than most, and he didn't have the best grades either. His family was not wealthy, and it didn't help that his classmates picked on him every day. There was always a set of boys that hurt him, but everyone was a part of it. The girls in the back, the teachers, the ones actually hurting him. Nobody helped him. Then one day, as class started, his whole class was teleported to another world. He finally thought that his time for redemption has come but to his disbelief he was the only one out of all the students to not get any sort of buff. He was still the weakest, and upon being abandoned by his classmates and thrown to his death, he chose to forsake his humanity and set his destiny in motion. With a 'little' help from a god, how will this new way of 'living' befit him? Inspired by: 'The Epic Tale of the Forsaken Hero' and 'Arifureta', but by no means is a Fan Fic. It'll start out very similar, but will change drastically.
