《The Princess' Messenger》Part 18

The court was blaming each other. The generals and Min Hyuk didn't know what to do. Jimin was also brought as a suspect. "Only the Crown Prince can answer this. Let's wait till he wakes up.
Till that all the suspects would be under surveillance", the head minister said. The King and the Queen were devastated. "I almost lost my two sons. It's all my fault. I should have been strong", he said. "It's not your fault, your Highness.
We will sort this out", your grandfather spoke. In the middle of the discussion, Taehyung brought such disastrous news. You held his sword tightly in both of your hands. "NO!" a scream was heard.
Everyone's attention turned towards Hye Mi. She fainted hearing the news. She was guilty. She thought that it's her fault. She kept saying that she didn't act faster and Jungkook is innocent. But the news was too strong for her heart.
The maids rushed to take her to the doctor. "Crown Prince woke up. He is heading towards the court", a guard announced. He came with soldiers' support. He took some time to process everything.
"Jungkook?!" he asked you. You showed the sword. He almost teared up. "He tried hard to save me but I left him behind", he said. He briefly explained everything. "Jungkook or Jimin or not anyone else here is involved in this", he said.
You tried hard not to cry in front of the whole court. You unintentionally gripped the sword blade too hard. You didn't even whine when the blood oozed out from your palm.
The pain was nothing in front of what your heart was experiencing. Taehyung held your hands. He stopped you from hurting yourself. Everyone noticed and panicked a little. "I want everyone behind this alive. I want them to be punished", you demanded.
"I have never asked my brothers anything for myself so far. Now I am asking, bring them alive. I want justice for his death", you roared in the court. "Why do you-"
"I want to because he was supposed to be my husband, the commander in chief of the country", you spat to the minister who was about to question you. "Y/n '', Taehyung calms you down.

"I don't know what you will do. I want them before this wound is healed", you showed your palm and headed towards your room. "I should follow her '', Yuri said. "Don't. Let her have her time", Taehyung stopped her.
Namjoon felt equally responsible for the mess that happened. You wanted to cry so bad but nothing came out. Your legs gave up. You didn't care if your hand was not treated, if you were lying on the floor or anything that happened around you.
You despised Chang Mi a lot. But now that turned into something more than hate. You saw the ring you gave him. "I will get my revenge. I will make sure to make her suffer'', you said. Time passed. Nothing changed.
No one was allowed in. Finally, Taehyung and Namjoon came in. They came with medicines and food. You looked at them lifelessly. "I am sorry. It's my fault", Namjoon said. You shook your head.
"If you want to cry then cry out. Please don't keep in", Taehyung caressed your head. "If I had known, I would have sent Jungkook with you", he said. Taehyung was treating your wound.
Your silence scared them. They tried everything they could. Jimin also came in. He was the first one to notice about you and Jungkook afterall. "Y/n ah, you should eat '', he tried to feed you. You were too weak to process anything.
"He won't want you to suffer", he said. He was trying to stir your emotions. He wanted you to let out for once and end it. "He will be sad", he said. A tear fell from your eyes. Soon the tears were uncontrollable when the series of memories flashed in your mind.
The very first time you met him, his smile, his nervous talks with you, first kiss everything. You loved him so much without even releasing. Jimin took you in his embrace. You broke down.
He teared up as well but he held you tightly instead of breaking down. Taehyung and Namjoon left the room. "Jimin ah, did he? Did he really?" you hiccuped. "I am sorry", he muttered.

"How did they confirm? There was no evidence than these two" you asked. "Y/n, it's hard to retrieve stuff from a burned building. You better not think too much", he wiped your tears. He didn't want you to imagine how gruesome the sight would be.
"I told him not to come. I was mad at him and he didn't come for real. It's my fault", you cried again. "No one's fault. Not yours y/n", he said. "No! Only if I hadn't convinced Min hyuk to marry her, she wouldn't have been living in the palace", you said.
"Wherever they were they would have done something like this in some other situations. Don't blame yourself for anything. Nothing is your fault", he softly patted your shoulder.
He felt weight on his body as you finally slept. He placed you on your bed. He covered you up. He held your injured hand. "Why is it always her? She has to bear everything alone", he thought to himself.
"Jimin", Yuri whispered. "Oh Princess!" he went outside to talk to her. "Uhm, How is she? Honestly, I am scared to approach her", she said. "Don't worry. She is sleeping.
I hope she will be okay when she wakes up. Ask the maids to keep monitoring her and also make sure to give medicines", he said. She nodded. "I really feel so bad. Jungkook was a great companion", Yuri said.
Mina also came with medicines. "I really don't think that Jungkook is the type of person to get stuck in a fire. Why don't you try searching for him by yourself?" Mina also suggested. "I was also thinking the same.
But, he is not with Chang Mi and also not in the room. Because he was the last person who was with the Crown prince", he said. "I have sent some men to search the woods deeply", he said.
"Also, Namjoon is not convinced as well", he said. "Jungkook would never betray us, right?" Yuri asked. "He is one of a kind. I have never seen a loyal and committed person like him", Mina defended him. "Namjoon is everything to him, he can never", Jimin said.
"Also, I feel something is off. The Crown Prince knows something but he is not telling the truth. I wonder what he is hiding", Mina said. Jimin closed her mouth. "Don't say something reckless inside the palace.
How many times should I tell you?" he said. She clicked her tongue. "Whatever I am going home", she went. Yuri also went to meet Taehyung before heading off to her room. You woke up after sometime. It was still dark.
The night was colder than usual. You missed him terribly. You missed him more when you knew that he wouldn't come anymore. The maids gave you some medicines. You slept again due to medicine.
"Y/n! y/n, are you sleeping already?" Jungkook's voice hit you. "Jungkook", you whispered. "Am I dreaming?" you asked. "Don't worry about it. You are cold, right? Let me hold you tight", he slipped into the sheets.
His arms were sturdy as you couldn't move an inch. You once again fell asleep but when you woke up in the morning and realized that everything was a dream. You were falling sick and you didn't even know that.
Yuri would stay with you from time to time. "Princess, let's go outside. It would be a change", she pleaded with you. It was just two days but you felt like an eternity. You finally got ready and decided to move out.
"Y/n! You need to come with me", Jimin held your hands. "What happened?" you asked him. "We found Jungkook! He is not dead", he said. "We need to take care of him a lot and monitor him closely.
His pulse is very weak. Still it's a 50 percent chance", the doctor informed Namjoon. You rushed with Jimin to the doctor's house. It once again pained a lot to see him almost lifeless. You didn't know if you should be happy that he is alive or cry to see him battling with death.
