《Finally Happy》Chapter 49

The chilly wind blew through the scenic, silent park as Naruto swung. Occasional sniffles and sobs wracked through his body, his hands clenched the chains of the swing in a vice grip. A shaky sigh left his mouth and he looked up at the sky, seeing the grey clouds pass by.
'I wish things were different.' Naruto thought as his mind backtracked to Sasuke. A warm feeling spread through his chest before it plummeted to gut-wrenching emptiness.
"He wouldn't love me. He loves another..." Naruto whispered, his hands dragging down along the chain before settling onto his lap.
The wind picked up, the trees swaying and their leaves ruffling and flying across the skies.
"There is nothing I can do now. I'll have to go home and see him and live with him. Maybe I can stay in another room and avoid him! Yeah that'll be go-"
"NARUTO!"
The blonde froze in shock. That voice... It was the last thing he wanted to hear. He wasn't ready yet! He wasn't ready to face Sasuke! He wasn't ready to hear those words yet...
'I don't love you, dobe. You know I love someone else.'
Naruto gulped and turned around to see Sasuke, hands on his knees, bent down and panting as if he had run a marathon. His raven hair was slightly messed up, his pale skin flushed to a slight pink, his ironed shirt now wrinkled. All in all, he looked beautiful to Naruto.
"S-Sasuke?" Naruto quietly whispered, his voice shaky and timid, the pretty blue eyes looking at the raven in bewilderment. Sasuke stood up straight, his eyes looking straight into Naruto's and he finally got a good look at the blonde.
His eyes were puffy and red due to all the crying, dry tear tracks were visible on his cheeks, grass strands clung to his clothes. The mop of blonde hair was completely messed up in the wind, the blonde strands spiking in all directions.

Sasuke felt his heart break, seeing Naruto look so scared and defeated. He wanted to take all those doubts away, destroy them and give Naruto all the love he had kept in his heart. He wanted to envelope the blonde in his arms and protect him from the cruelty in this world. He wanted to wake up and have Naruto's beautiful face be the first thing he saw every morning. Sasuke wanted to do so much...
'And now I will... I'll shower him with love. Love he has been needing for so long now. I'll be his everything. His savior. His guardian. His lover. His fighter. His everything.'
Sasuke slowly walked up to the blonde, his eyes never leaving the whiskered face. Naruto's heart pounded with each step his took, his fear raising every time the distance between them lessened. Naruto was visibly shaking. His hands clung to his clothes, as he felt colder and colder each passing second. But Sasuke never faltered. He walked until he was right in front of his angel. Naruto looked up, seeing Sasuke's handsome face looking down at him, his eyes warm with love and affection. Blue eyes widened considerably. He felt his burdens get lighter with every second he spent looking at the raven's love filled eyes.
Slowly, Sasuke's pale hand wrapped around Naruto's tan one and took it in his grasp. Naruto's cerulean eyes followed every movement before in a sudden movement, Sasuke pulled Naruto off the swing seat and embraced him in his arms. The pale, arms held the shorter blonde, one hand winding around Naruto waist while the other made it's way to the soft sunflower locks. Sasuke tucked the blonde head under his chin and held him like that.
The feeling of Sasuke's arms around him, the way the raven held him so strongly yet lovingly, the feeling of his hand smoothing his blonde hair, just everything that was happening in that moment disintegrated all the sadness and sorrow Naruto had felt his in heart for such a long time. His tan arms immediately clung onto Sasuke, his hands clutching the raven's back. A small smile made its way onto Sasuke's face and in a rush of affection, he placed his lips onto Naruto's forehead, leaving a loving, slow and lingering kiss onto the soft skin.

"S-Sasuk-ke?" Naruto whispered, his face bright red.
"I love you Naruto. That person I love... That's you." Sasuke answered back, his voice filled with so much sincerity, it crushed all the doubting words that tried to worm it's way into Naruto's mind.
The blonde's eyes widened. His face frozen in shock before it morphed into absolute joy and happiness. Before Naruto could say anything, Sasuke interjected.
"I've loved you for so long dobe. I knew I loved you ever since middle school but I was an idiot. I was scared that you would never love me like that and that you would hate me, so I covered it up. I distanced myself away, hoping these feelings would disappear. I tried to trick my heart into hating you so I... I-I did all those horrible things. I hate myself for doing that. I was in so much agony but then when you came back into my life, I realized I needed you." Sasuke looked down to see Naruto's reaction. He was scared. He didn't want to see Naruto's angry eyes or anything linked to anger. Looking down though, all he saw was... sympathy, love and hints of amusement.
"You are an idiot Sasuke. I could never hate you. Even after all those horrible things, I still cared and liked you. You were my only friend, the only one I had. I guess, that's why it always hurt so much whenever you did those things. I love you Sasuke. I'll always will I think." And with that, Naruto smiled a beautiful, radiant smile and suddenly everyone felt so much brighter. Sasuke's heart lifted.
Naruto lifted his head and softy placed his lips against Sasuke's. His arms wound the pale neck. In a fraction of a second, Sasuke tightened his hold on Naruto and kissed back, pouring all the love, fondness, affection... Everything single emotion he had felt for Naruto into that kiss. His hand cradled the back of Naruto's head as they kissed under the now blue skies. Pulling away, they continued to hug, Sasuke swaying their bodies back and forth slowly. He placed a small kiss onto Naruto's head before his unwound his arms and they broke their embrace. Sasuke smiled, taking Naruto's hand in his.
"C'mon. Let's go home." He said. Naruto nodded, grinning happily at his raven and walked along side with him. No words had to be spoken, everything they wanted to say were evident on their faces. The gloomy clouds had disappeared, the sun now shining down at the two love-struck boys. Sasuke looked up, seeing the blue skies and couldn't help but smile.
'This is the marking of a new life now. A new, happier life for the both of us.'

2nd Chance
It's my first time writing a story so you might spot a lot of amateur mistakes but feel free to criticize my writing as much as you like. Anyways, to give you a quick idea of what the story is all about, the original title of this novel was supposed to be "The Yankee in Another World" but when I thought about writing that in the cover I immediately thought 'HELL NAW' and went with a different one and I feel like the new title captures the essence of this story more. because although it's categorized as an Isekai, the story is more focused on redemption rather than the Isekai fantasy. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this synopsis once I thought of one.
