Chapter 50
The pilot landed hot-air balloon on a clear ground in the city. Once we were down safely, I stepped out along with King by my side. The entire ride lasted an hour though it only felt like a minute, like only minute had passed by.
It was not a minute.
"Did you enjoy?" King asked, holding my hand and taking me toward the car nearby.
It was Arnold waiting for us outside the car, he had driven back from the mountains after dropping us there.
"Yes. It was beautiful." I replied, looping my arm around his and resting my head over his shoulder.
Was I getting feelings? More feelings than I could handle? Yes and yes. I couldn't resist King, he just seemed like a wonderful man regardless of the fact he had given me a curse to live with for the rest of my life.
Arnold drove us back home to the penthouse where I showered and changed my clothes into the attire of a club as we were heading there next. According to King, the club was a safe haven for werewolves in the city and Frostford with no other being—humans—allowed inside.
I was going to dive into a complete different world without having much knowledge about it. As much as it terrified me, I tried not to complain as he had promised to keep me safe and that no one would trouble me in any way or form.
I wondered why...
Did he have control in the city as well?
Though, King warned me to not speak of the bite or the sudden change into a werewolf for my own sake as that would raise questions and doubts among the other werewolves.
I wore a long black velvet dress with a stretched out V-neck, exposing partly of my breasts and a pair of black strapped heels that felt like I was still floating in the air.
When we arrived at the club, King introduced me to a few men older than me but the same age as him. They were his friends from the city, young and wild, just as I expected.
There were different unfamiliar scents surrounding me. It gave me an idea about the people in the club. I was anxious and curious for as long as the first drop of alcohol didn't touch my lips.

Once it did, I felt relieved.
"He was born at the same time the first episode of The Simpsons was aired," One of his friend, Rafael, said while wavering his hand and chuckling. He was more drunk than I could ever become.
"Oh, wow!" I acted surprise.
I didn't knew King was older than me seven years. He was almost reaching twenty seven while I was turning twenty.
"Oh, you should know that his parents did believe he was a girl the entire time until he was born. Only then, they regretted having him." Drunk Rafael continued while King rolled his eyes on him.
I assumed they were closer—more like best friends forever.
"Really?" I giggled, turning my head to King who didn't look like a girl at all.
"It was a mistake." He whispered to me.
We sat in one of the private tables in the club, it's hues pink, purple and red. The lights flashed over us, dimly while loud music awakened the night and the bass vibrated on the tall walls of the club. The drinks were delicious and the little treats the waiters served went perfectly on with the drinks.
I didn't drink much, just a few sips here and there. I was still learning to cope with my addiction with drugs and alcohol and so far, it was working well.
Rafael leaned back on his plush couch and draped a hand over it. "So tell me, Eos, where are you from?" He inquired, eyes surveying me.
Over the past hour, he hand only ranted about King, making silly jokes and baring him to me.
I cleared my throat and replied, "Frostford."
"But you're not a local from there, right?" He quirked a brow.
I took a breath, a larger one than usual. "Yes..." I didn't want to mention my old hometown in fear of being caught or killed. It was hard to bring the name to my lips.
I hadn't even told King about it, or where I came from.
I didn't know what to say.
"She moved in with her Aunt when she was child so she doesn't knows much about where she came from. Don't corner her, Rafael." King said, covering me up without even making an effort.

He spread his arms and shook his head, "No, no, I didn't mean to corner her. I was curious. I'm sorry if it was sensitive." He stated, flashing his gaze on me.
"No, it's fine." I smiled at him and took another sip of my drink.
Though, I noticed King wasn't much of a drinker, he barely had any drinks, just plain water and a juice with a few nuts on the side.
Often, men, completely random men, came toward the table and greeted King before walking away. It was odd in a way but again, he was a strong werewolf and he was a billionaire. I couldn't blame him.
A pair of hands fastened around King shoulders before a voice boomed across the table. "Good evening, Cuzzy." It was a woman's voice, low and soft, gentle as the night.
I jumped back in complete surprise and found a woman standing behind King. Her arms were stretched and her hands were over his shoulders.
"Gabriella." He brushed her hands off his shoulder and stood up to greet her.
Wait.
Who was she?
I forbade any wrong assumptions before King could speak to me.
"This is my cousin, Gabriella," He said to me and I let out a sigh of relief. "And Gabriella, this is Eos, my mate." He continued.
"Oh," The woman stepped forward and sat down on the same place where King was sitting a moment before. She ran her fingers in the air while sudden excitement passed through her eyes before she wrapped her arm around me. "It's so nice to finally meet you," The hug lasted for a second before she moved back. "You're just what I had imagined for him." She gave me a wide smile and I returned it.
"Thank you," I breathed out. "And it's nice to meet you as well." My eyes stared up at her while my lips parted slowly.
She—she was breathtaking. Her eyes were a gentle hazel brown, her black hair flowed down till her waist and she wore a tight dress that fitted her curves perfectly.
She was King's cousin?
King stood nearby the couch for several seconds before he realized that Gabriella didn't intend on moving from his place. He walked over to his friend and sat next to him while she sat next to me.
Once seated, Gabriella shared a look with Rafael, "I'm surprised to see you here. Don't you have some work to do? Maybe take care of a few little werewolves in the woods or maybe mate with every female wolf you find?" She cocked her brow at him, throwing muck at him while she placed her bag over the table.
I quickly understood there was some bad blood between King's friend, Rafael and his cousin, Gabriella.
But I didn't know they were able to talk about werewolves so openly, where everyone heard. I suppose, it was a safe haven for werewolves.
"Why don't you take care of them, Gabby?" Rafael said.
"Don't you dare call me that!" She snapped at him while raising a pointy finger toward his direction.
King and I were quiet, seated far from each other. All I wanted to do was return into his embrace just as I was a few minutes before we were disturbed by Gabriella.
"Why don't you come here and argue with him? It would be much better for you. And possibly, you can rip his face with your claws." King suggested to his cousin with a questionable grin.
"Not a bad idea, Cuzzy." She quickly stood up, grabbing her purse. "Scoot over."
King stood up and returned back to me. He looped his arm over my shoulder and pulled me back into his embrace.
"I didn't know you had a cousin." I whispered to him quietly while Rafael and Gabriella argued with each other.
"The only one, don't worry." He chuckled. "She can be a lot sometimes, a little too much but it's the only family I have left."
Oh...
"What about your Aunt or Uncle?"
"They were killed during the same time my parents were." He replied, a bundle of emotions appearing in his eyes suddenly.
I closed the topic.
