《The Monster Inside ➺ Scott. M》chapter 6

Thunder could be heard in the distance as Scott, Isaac, Boyd, Stiles, Astrid and the twins sat in the bus. Coach suddenly blew the whistle, startling everyone "Back to your seats!" He shouted.
Astrid sat calmly next to Stiles who sat next to Scott at the back of the bus. Scott was resting his head on the window as Stiles was on his IPad.
"Hey, yo, Scotty?" Stiles clicked his fingers. "Still with me?"
"Yeah, sorry" Scott answered. "What's the word?"
"Anachronism"
"Something that exists out of its normal time."
"Nice, okay, next word, incongruous"
"Can you use it in a sentence?"
"Yes. Yes I can. It's completely incongruous that we're sitting on a bus right now on our way to some stupid cross-country meet after what just happened, incongruous."
"Out of place, ridiculous, absurd."
"Perfect. Okay, next word. Um... Darach"
"A dark druid" Astrid answered with her eyes closed as she tried to sleep.
Scott looked at Stiles slightly annoyed.
"We have to talk about it sometime, okay?" Stiles said. "And we're gonna be stuck in this thing for, Like, five hours, so why not?".
Scott rested his head back on the window, clearly exhausted from the fight with the alpha pack.
"Next word" Stiles cleared his throat "intransigent".
"Stubborn, obstinate."
The bus moved harshly and Scott grabbed his side.
"Oh, buddy, you okay?" Stiles asked.
"He's clearly not okay, love. He's bleeding... still" Astrid sighed and opened her eyes, looking at Scott who exhaled heavily.
"We shouldn't have come" Stiles said "I knew it. We shouldn't have come."
"We had to" Scott interrupted "there's safety in numbers"
"Yeah, well, there's also death in numbers, okay?" Stiles said. "Its called a massacre or bloodbath, carnage, slaughter, butchery, wow, that's..."
Scott whispered and Stiles shook his head "alright, Scott, I'm telling coach that..."
"No. No, No, No... im alright" Scott lied.
"No you're not" Astrid said, looking into his eyes.
"Would you just let me see it?" Stiles asked as he tried grabbing his shirt. He quickly pulled his hand away when Scott whispered due to the pain.
"I'm okay" Scott said.
"Just let me see it, okay?" Stiles demanded.
"Okay" Scott said as he moved up his shirt, revealing a deep scratch.
"Oh, dude..." Stiles said as he saw the injury.
"I know it's bad but that's because they're from an alpha... it'll take longer to heal"
"How come Boyd and Isaac are fine?" Stiles asked.
"I can't believe he's dead. I can't believe Derek's dead." Scott said, looking out the window.
"You guys do realise that if you told me to fight the Alpha pack with you, no one would've died" Astrid sighed.
"Yeah... because you would obviously save everyone" Stiles laughed.
"Sweetie, believe me, they wouldn't be able to kill me even if they tried."
"Oh please, if Derek died, I'm pretty sure you would too" Stiles said. Astrid shrugged and closed her eyes, resting.
Her eyes shot back opened as coach blew the whistle again.
"Jesus... He scared the hell out of me" she murmured.
"Jared, again, car sick? Every... how do you even get on the bus?" Coach asked Jared who looked sick as he sat alone, next to a window. He grunted.
"Look at me. No, don't look at me. Look at the horizon. Keep your eyes... Keep your eyes on the horizon" coach told Jared. Astrid smiled as coach always managed to amuse her. "McCall, not you, too"
Scott cleared his throat "No, coach, I'm good."

"Hey, Scott, you're bleeding again." Stiles pointed out. "And don't tell me that it's just taking longer to heal, okay? Because I'm pretty sure that still bleeding means not healing, Like, at all."
"He's listening" Scott said as he looked at Ethan.
"Is he gonna do something?" Stiles asked.
"Not in front of this many people"
"Okay, well, what about the two ticking time bombs sitting right near him?" Stiles asked and Boyd looked back at the three sitting at the back.
"No they won't. Not here" Scott answered.
"Okay, well, what if they do? Are you gonna stop them?"
"I will..." Astrid said, smiling innocently at the two boys sitting next to her. "It wouldn't be the fist time I stopped werewolves from killing everyone"
Boyd turned around, his eyes glowing yellow.
"What.... what... Scott?" Stiles asked as Scott stood up. "Where are you going?"
"Boyd, he's gonna do something." Scott replied.
"Sit down. I'll take care of it" Astrid replied as she pushed Scott back to his seat.
Astrid walked towards boyd and grabbed his arm, tightly.
"Let go" boyd said, gritting his teeth.
"Calm down... you're going to kill everyone on this bloody bus. Do you want that? Do you want to be held responsible for over a dozen deaths?" She asked annoyed.
"I don't care" he replied, still angry. He tried getting up but Isaac and Astrid pushed him back down.
"Mate, calm down or you'll regret it" she said, he still didn't listen.
Isaac sighed and looked out the window. Astrid took this opportunity to compel him without getting caught.
"You will calm down" she said, looking straight into his eyes.
"I'll calm down" he replied and sat down comfortably.
"Thank you" Astrid said as she walked back to her seat.
"Crisis averted?" Stiles asked.
"Yup!" She said, popping the 'p'.
"Okay, good. 'Cause we got another problem. Ethan keeps checking his phone, Like, every five minutes. It's like he's waiting for something, you know, like a message or a signal of some kind" Stiles said while looking at Ethan. "I don't know, something evil though, I can tell. I have a very perceptive eye for evil, but you know that." He said, resting his arms on the seat in front of him.
"I don't like him sitting with Danny." Scott said.
"Yeah, neither do I. Im gonna see what he's waiting for." Stiles said as he took out his phone.
"What are you doing?" Scott asked.
"I'm gonna ask."
Astrid looked at Stiles' phone as he texted Danny.
S- find out why Ethan keeps changing his phone.
Danny turned around to look at Stiles and he shook his head.
S- just do it!
D- No.
S- ASK HIM.
D- NO. I like this guy. What's wrong with you?
S- It's important. PLEASE.
Danny put away his phone and Stiles began spamming him.
"Something wrong?" Astrid heard Ethan say.
"Actually, I was wondering the same thing about you." Danny replied.
Then Ethan turned around and looked at Stiles, Scott and Astrid. Scott and Stiles hid behind the chair in front of them, whereas, Astrid waved with a smile.
"Well, that wasn't very subtle" Stiles whispered.
"Nope, it wasn't" Astrid sighed.
They got back up when Ethan turned back around. Stiles then received a message.
D- Someone close to him is sick. Might not make it through the night.
"Ennis?" Scott asked.
"Didn't you say he died?" Astrid asked.
Scott breathed heavily "He's not dead" he said, shocked.

"Not yet." Stiles said.
The cars honked every minute, keeping Astrid from falling asleep. She sighed as she gave up.
"Jared I'm warning you. Im an empathetic vomiter. You throw up, I'm gonna throw up right back on you" coach warned. "And it will be profoundly disgusting."
"Please don't talk about throwing up. It's not good" Jared answered.
"I might throw up just to make a point, Jared."
"Its not good. It's not good." Jared shook his head frantically.
"Now, the rest of you. Don't think we're gonna miss this meet because of a slight traffic jam, a minor tornado warning, Jared. We're gonna make this thing. Nothing is gonna stop up!" Coach shouted, excitedly. "Stilinski, put your hand down."
"You know, there's, Like, a food exit about a half a mile up. I don't know if we stop and then Maybe the traffic..." Stiles said to coach.
"We're not gonna stop."
"Okay, but if we stop..."
"Stilinski!" Coach blew the whistle "shut it! Seriously! It's a little bus! Stop asking me questions!"
"I hate him" Stiles whispered.
"I love him" Astrid laughed.
Stiles sighed "did you call Deaton?".
"I keep getting his voice mail" Scott said weakly.
"That's it. Im calling Lydia and Allison."
"How are they gonna help? Back in beacon hills?" Scott asked.
"They've been following us for hours" Astrid said, smiling at Scott.
"Pathetic" Stiles said as he called Lydia.
"I know you guys are right behind us" Stiles said. "Put me on speaker. Okay look, Scott's still hurt."
"What so you mean still? He's not healing?" Allison asked. Astrid listened to the phone call.
"No he's not healing. I think he's actually getting worse. The blood's turning like. Black colour."
"What's wrong with him?" Lydia asked.
"What's wrong with him? I don't... Do I have a PhD in Lycanthropy? How am I supposed to know that?"
"We need to get him off the bus" Allison added.
"And take him where? A hospital?" Lydia asked.
"If he's dying, yeah" Allison answered. "Stiles there's a rest are about a mile up. Tell the coach to pull over."
"Yeah, I've been trying"
"Well, reason with him."
"Reason?" Stiles exploded "have you met this guy?"
"Just try something" Allison said as Stiles ended the call.
He walked towards Coach and began 'reasoning' with him. However, coach blew the whistle every time Stiles tried to speak.
"Let me talk! I'm... every time..."
Coach whistled for a longer time and shouted "get back to your seat, Stilinski!"
"Okay!" Stiles shouted back.
"Jared, keep your eyes on the horizon." Stiles turned around as he heard coach say that. He sat next to Jared and smiled.
"Hey, Jared" he paused "How you doing?".
Soon Jared threw up and every one rushed off the bus when they got to a gas station.
"Jared, you suck!" Astrid heard coach shout.
Stiles and Astrid helped Scott get to the bathroom as Allison and Lydia followed them.
They sat him next to a sink and Allison pulled up his shirt, revealing his wound with black blood covering it.
"Oh, my God. Why didn't you tell us?" Allison asked.
"Sorry" Scott apologised.
"Okay. Just give us a second. Okay?" Allison stood up "this shouldn't be happening. I've seen him heal from worse than this."
"Can't we just call an ambulance?" Astrid heard Stiles ask. She sat next to Scott, holding his hand gently and stroking his hair. Scott smiled at her, weakly.
"Please don't die" she said quietly.
"What if... what if it's too late? What if they can't help?" Allison asked.
"We gotta do something" Stiles said.
"You know, it could be psychological." Lydia said.
"What do you mean, Like, psychosomatic?" Stiles asked.
"Somatoformic" Lydia corrected. "A physical illness from A psychogenic cause." She paused "yes.. It's all in his head."
"All in his head?" Stiles asked. "Because of Derek. He's not letting himself heal 'Cause Derek died."
"So what do we do?" Allison asked.
"Stitch him up" Lydia said as she held a little sewing kit. "I'm serious. Maybe all he needs to do is just believe he's healing."
They took of his shirt, getting easier access to the wound.
"He's gonna need another shirt. Where's his bag?" Allison asked.
"Um... im gonna get it. I hate needles anyway, so..." Stiles said as he was about to leave the bathroom. "Do you know what you're doing?" Stiles asked.
"My father taught me" Allison said.
"How fast? I mean... the bus... It's gonna leave"
"Then make sure it doesn't leave."
"I'll help" Lydia said as she walked out with Stiles. Astrid followed them.
-------
Coach blew his whistle "let's go! Back on the bus!" He shouted.
"Shit" Astrid said.
Allison and Scott walked out of the bathrooms while Lydia ran towards them.
Astrid watched Isaac and Ethan fight. Coach ran towards them, trying to separate them but failing.
"Isaac!" Scott shouted and he stopped hitting Ethan. Danny ran towards Ethan as Isaac stood there, panting.
-------
They got on the bus and were on their way again. Astrid sat next to Allison who sat next to Scott. Astrid sighed as Scott and Allison gave each other loving looks.
Stiles and Lydia sat in front of them, talking about the sacrifices.
"You know, some ancient cultures sacrificed people in preparation for battle." She heard Lydia say.
"So we got alpha werewolves against a dark druid" Stiles sighed.
"Yup" Lydia said.
"You know, if he's really dead, it's not your fault." Allison told Scott.
"Maybe" Scott said. "But remember the whole thing that we talked about where I wasn't accusing you of being there, and if you were there, you shouldn't be?". Allison nodded. "Thanks for not listening" Allison smiled. "What?" Scott asked.
"I was just looking at your eyes." Allison said, smiling. Astrid rolled her eyes and looked out the window.
Astrid heard her phone ring and she smiled, seeing Niklaus' name. Allison and Scott looked at her.
"Nik" she said, happy. She looked at Scott and she knew that he was listening to her conversation.
"Hello, sister. Are you busy?" Niklaus asked.
"Umm.. kind of. Why? Is everything alright, brother?"
"The brotherhood is back" Klaus said. Her eyes opened wide. Stiles and Lydia looked back at her concerned.
"That's... that's impossible. They're all dead" she said as she remembered the hallucinations she had after she killed some of them.
"They're not the original ones." He said. Astrid grabbed the seat in front of her, trying to calm down. She then realised that every werewolf on the bus was listening to their conversation. She let go of the seat and sighed.
"Well, brother, you know how to get rid of them" she smiled at nothing.
"Oh... im not going to kill them, sister. You see, they have a map on their bodies... a map to the cure."
She swallowed "And you're going to look for it?"
"Yes... I have to go, sister."
"Bye Nik. Tell the others I said hi" she said as he hung up the phone.
Stiles, Allison, Lydia and the werewolves stared at her.
"What cure?" Scott asked.
"Sorry, Scotty, but that's something I cannot tell you" she answered.

The Shadow Paradigm - Book 1: Project Orb Weaver
Gardening, cooking, innovation, preservation, charity events... Madzistrale, Tom and Gabzryel does it all. But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Although both groups are aiming to make humanity stand stronger, their ideals and methods could not be further apart. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
