Maui was almost devoured until...
"Hey!"
Trollex escaped the cage, "I've got something shiny for ya!"
Trollex seemed to be holding...
"The heart of Te Ora. You can't escape me!"
Trollex started swimming away.
"Oh, but you're gonna try? How cute!"
Trollex then dropped it into a crack.
Tamatoa digged after it, "The power of creation! For a crustacean! Where is it?! Where is it?!"
Trollex grabbed the hook while he was distracted.
He then helped Maui up, "We gotta go!"
"What about the heart?"
"He can have it. I've got a better one."
Trollex revealed the heart in the pendant.
Tamatoa thought he had it, "Yes! I have the-Wait a minute. Ugh!! I see, he's taken a barnacle and he's covered it in bioluminescent algae...as a diversion."
He then crushed it and went after the duo.
Luckily, they were able to make it to a geyser that launched them back up and tip Tamatoa over.
Trollex shouted Maui's war cry.
Tamatoa then went, "Hey. Hey! Did you like the song?"

They managed to get back to their realm.
TBDB met them outside, "Are you guys ok?"
Trollex shouted, "We're alive! We're ali-- ahh!"
Maui had the head of a shark.
Maui started talking, but Trollex was distracted, " Listen. I appreciate what you did down there."
"Mmm-hmm. Mmm-hmm. Mmm-hmm. Mmm-hmm."
"Took guts. But... I'm sorry. I'm tryin' to be sincere for once, and it feels like you're distracted."
"What? No! No way."
"Really. 'Cause you're looking at me like I have a ... *gasp**sigh* shark head."
"Whaaaaat? Do you have a shark head, cause I..."
Maui just continued, " Look. The point is... For a little boy... child... thing... whatever... who had no business being down there... You did me a solid. But, you also almost died. And I couldn't even beat the dumb crab. So chances of beating Te Mate: bupkis. We're never making it to Te Ora. This mission is cursed."
Trollex replied, "Come on. It's not cursed."
Maui pointed out, "Shark head."
Trollex handed him the fishhook, "It's not...cursed."
When Maui grabbed it, he continued to change into different animals.
When he looked like he was normal, he fell down because he had a shark tail.
"Cursed."
