"SHIT! YUU, WAKE YOUR ASS UP-"
"BITCH I'M UP."
You flung the blankets off the bed and exchanged glances with your dear husband.
"WE'RE LATE."
.
.
.
"Oh... my god... we made it..." Noya panted, flopping down into one of the spectator seats with you beside him.
"You turned off the alarm didn't you?" you huffed, smacking his sneaky arm away from your shoulders.
"Heheh sorry... we had a rough night-"
"YUU."
"Sorry~"
You sighed and leaned on his shoulder. You looked out on the court and the first set had barely started. Noya tapped your arm and pointed excitedly, grinning like a child.
"THERE! NUMBER 4!"
You immediately sit upright and spotted Kaito on the court, standing out from his orange teammates in his black jersey.
"ROLLINGEU.... THUNDAAAAA!"
He yelled and dived for a feint, getting it up successfully, Karasuno eventually gaining the point.
"NICE RECEIVE, KAITO!" Noya screamed, standing up and cheering as loudly as he could.
"He really is our son..." you shook your head and giggled, joining in the cheers.
The boy with Noya's black hair (when it's down) and your brown eyes looked back up to his parents, beaming with pride as he waved his hand coolly.
The game went on and ended pretty quickly, Karasuno winning the game easily with both sets. After the game, you and Noya hurried down to the gym where Kaito would be.
"Nishinoya!"
A familiar voice called from behind and both you and Noya turn around.
"Ukai-kun!" you both call out and walk over to him, hand in hand.
"How's professional volleyball?" the ex-coach asked.
"It's pretty challenging, but fun." Noya exclaimed, and you nodded happily along. Ukai chuckled proudly at you both, glad to know he played a part in your development.

"Has it been harder for you, Haru? After your -"
"MOM!"
The libero came running over and you quickly pulled him into a hug.
"Kaito! You were so good out there!" You pat his head and ruffled his hair.
"Kaito, am I invisible to you?"
"I'm just the favourite, Yuu." you poke out your tongue and high-five Kaito, then the 3 of you laughed and huddled together and had a small moment.
"To answer your question, Ukai-kun, it was hard to immediately get back into volleyball after recovery, but I'm lucky to still have been able to maintain my standard."
Ukai nodded approvingly with your answer.
"Well, good job out there, son." Noya gave Kaito a little noogie. Not long after, the rest of Karasuno volleyball team came over.
"Woah!! Kaito, these are really your parents?"
"It's really Nishinoya Yuu!"
"Misaki Haru too!"
"AWESOME!!!"
"No wonder you're so good at volleyball, Kaito-kun!"
The highschoolers bombarded Kaito with questions and admired you and Noya at the same time. You and Noya simply smiled, proud to have such a wonderful son.
"Kaito's indeed an amazing libero, just like you Noya-san."
Ukai said, reminiscing the past when Noya trained under him.
"Of course! He's our son, how could he not be awesome!" Noya beamed with pride and happiness, resting an arm around your shoulder and pulling you closer while you held Kaito's.
"If you don't mind, Ukai-kun, we'll take Kaito home first." With that, you waved goodbye to the coach and your son's adoring teammates.
.
"Did you have fun today, son?" Noya asked, hands on the wheel and eyes still focused on the road.
You turned around from the front seat and saw your cute son fast asleep in the back. His hair dropped over his shut eyes and he hugged his bag tightly.

"He's sleeping babe."
"Yeah, did you see how many rolling thunders he did?"
"PFFT-"
"Hey!"
You burst out laughing and looked back lovingly at your son.
"Who would have thought? We're all liberos." you scoffed disbelievingly. It seemed so unreal.
"A family of amazing liberos." Noya smirked confidently.
"Mom, dad. You were both late for the game, weren't you?"
The sudden voice echoed through the car and it came to a stop right in front of the house.
"U-Uh, Kaito! You're awake!" you laughed nervously and Noya hopped out of the car.
"Don't change the subject." Kaito sighed disappointingly and got out as well, while you did the same.
"We're sorry, Kaito. We overslept..." Noya bent down to his son's eye level and combed his bangs back. "Forgive us, hmm?"
"Hmph."
Kaito scoffed, crossing his arms and not looking any of you in the eye.
"Kaito..." you said guiltily.
"Ah! How bout' this? We'll promise to never be late or miss any of your games, okay?" Noya suggested with brighter eyes.
"You could break the promise anytime though..." Kaito refused, looking at you with a sad expression.
"Kaito." You said with a firm voice. "When your father makes a promise, he never breaks it, so don't worry okay?"
"And what if he does?"
"You don't have to worry about that, but if he does, then I'll punish him." you smile and slap Noya in the back.
"Haru, when you say it like that, it really tu-"
"NO."
Noya chuckled and stuck his pinky out.
"You really promise?" Kaito asked one last time for assurance and you both nodded without hesitation.
"We also have a special 'thing' to do with our promises." Noya gleamed.
Their pinkies intertwined gently, then the tip of their thumbs rested on each other.
"Here, put the hand you made the promise with into a fist and hold it at your heart." Noya did exactly as he said and Kaito followed suit.
"This means that we will never break our promises to each other, okay Kaito?"
"Okay." Kaito beamed.
"I promise."
The sight of Noya making these promises to your son melted your heart. You both knew deep down how important each of these promises meant, and to be able to share it with your child was so meaningful.
.
From that day on, you and Noya never missed a single game, nor were you late by a single second. Kaito also started making promises to you and Noya, in which he kept them all.
Having such a closely-knit family, loving the same sport and doing the same thing, it was just too perfect, but you were going to cherish it.
Your husband and your son both.

Sector 27
It wasn't until June 3, 2101 that World War 4 ended. This was not a war that ended in peace treaties or truces; this war ended with disease. The atomic war caused plague and disease that crippled major countries. The generals and great leaders of the countries at war died from the radiation that penetrated every part of the globe. It was only then that humanity realized what they had done- what they had created. The first ever mutant was publicly executed the very day the war ended, and a new war began: the war against mutants. The surviving nation of Japan quickly rebuilt their country by dividing it into safe zones, or Sectors. There are currently 26 livable sectors in Japan; Sector 1 is the richest sector and the only sector that has completely rid itself of all radiation left over from the war. In fear against the threat of mutants, the once small section of the police force grew until it became the main police force in Japan. After all, humans shouldn't be blamed for crimes when the real threat to society is mutants. This police force that goes by their motto: Special Treatment Against Mutants (STAM) is comprised of agents that go about their work to capture and detain all mutants. Sector 26 is the poorest sector that humans can barely survive in; but there is one more part of Japan. This "dead zone" has such a high concentration of radiation that if a human were to step inside the barrier, they would die in mere moments. But within this dead zone, this 27th Sector, there lies a secret organization of mutants that fight against STAM and protect all mutants from their grasp. The Mutant Recovery and Protection Agency (MRPA) operates to hide mutants in society and allow them to live human lives. The only thing that stands in MRPA's way is STAM and its agents who hunt them down ruthlessly, so MRPA has their own set of skilled agents. And the battle rages on...

Death Drive
In the near future, most work has been relegated to machines and people are content to spend their time immersed in virtual reality, something they cannot get enough of. Thomas Walker, an ex-racecar driver who blames the hidden algorithms that run society for losing everything that is important to him, finds himself at the center of a string of bizarre vehicular attacks and becomes assured that someone is out to get him. Meanwhile, Lucas Bennett, an anxiety-ridden software engineer, is contracted by the leading artificial intelligence corporation in the US to decipher the inner workings of their flagship AI that have become incomprehensible even to themselves, a job that he is very invested in since he considers technology the solution to his personal as well as mankind’s timeless problems. Unknown to the public at large, the CEO of the company is bent on unleashing the full capabilities of that AI to handle every single aspect of society and individual lives. When all hell breaks loose, the two men and those close to them team up to survive and fight back against the horde of vehicular attackers and the Intelligence behind them while also clashing together over their views: is artificial intelligence a way to humanity’s salvation or doom? Betrayal abounds, nothing is as it seems and the traffic is a real killer. The story is finished and I will be publishing a new chapter every Friday.
