《HIS BABY》CHAPTER THREE

I am on my way to drop Kenna off to her Uncle. I needed to sort out having extra days at the nursery so I would not have to rely on other people to watch her for me. I step into the elevator pushed the button for the eighteenth floor. I look down at Kenna in her buggy. I hope I am doing the right thing?. I keep questioning myself. The doors open, I push her out to have everyone watching me. I carried on walking to Mr Kennedy's office. I glanced at Miss Goody, who had a look of surprise on her face. I walked over to the door, then knock. "Come in". I glanced around, looking at all the confused faces. I open the door then walk in. I looked over to where Kenna's uncle is sitting. He smiled. I closed the door as he walks towards me, then bends down to take his niece out of her buggy. "There is my little angel". He says to her while taking her coat off.
"Are you sure you don't mind?". I am nervous about asking him but, I need this job.
"I am sure. We are going to have some fun. I am going to show her around". He says while looking at her. I smiled then turn. I am about to open the door when Cole walks in. He looks at me with such a sour look. I shake my head. Then he looks at his brother.
"So, you got my brother to believe you". He spits at me. I look at my daughter, then back at Cole.
"Do not shout around my daughter". I tell him through gritted teeth. Joshua looks over at Cole.
"Cole. Savannah didn't make me believe anything". Cole shoots him a cold look then he stares at me.
"I told you I didn't want anything to do with you. You are just a bitch". I was not going to take his shit.
"You have no right to be a father. You are a selfish arrogant bastard. I wish Kenna had a different father. All you ever wanted to do is fuck me. I wish I had never met you". I am harsh with my words plus I am poking him with my finger. He smirks.
"If you didn't open you fucking legs then none of this would have happened. You fucking tried to trap me, telling me you were pregnant. You are nothing but a whore". I punched him.
"Cole, I cannot believe what I have just heard you say. You have a lot of growing up to do". Joshua is still holding Kenna tight in his arms. I look over to him.
"I knew this would be a bad idea. I should never have come". They both look at me. Cole is wiping the blood from his mouth. Joshua shakes his head. "Cole, you are right she is not your daughter". I walked over to Kenna taking her out of Joshua's arms. He looks at me with a sad look. "She is not Cole's daughter". I tell him then take my daughter. Cole would never face the fact that he is her father so, the best thing to do is to tell him he is right that way they will stay away. I put Kenna in her buggy.

"I told you Josh but, you just had to push it. That is not my child". Cole shouts. I open the door then leave. I am not going to let my daughter be used as a pawn. She is my baby. I shook my head when everyone looked at me. I get to the elevator when Joshua walks over to me. All the girls are staring at him.
"Savannah, please just let me watch her while you work. I promise I will take care of her". He is pleading with me. Why is he being like this?.
"Okay. I will be back around three. She has everything she needs in her bag. Please do not let Cole near her". He nods then takes the buggy I kiss her then leave.
I am at the restaurant serving tables when I saw my sister walk past the window. She looked in a bad way like she had been beaten up. I carried on with my shift. When two-thirty came I left to go collect my daughter. I am in the elevator going to Mr Kennedy's office. What am I going to do?. I can't expect Joshua to keep coming to see Kenna when I told him that Cole is right. I needed to find a way to stop him from visiting her. I step out of the elevator then walk towards the door which is open.
Everyone is staring at me again. I looked in his office, but they are not there. All of Kenna things are there. I could hear her giggling from one of the conference rooms. I walked over knocked then walked in to see all four brothers sitting at the oval table. Kenna is running around with a football laughing. She sees me then runs to me. "Mummy". She shouts. I bend down to pick her up. I kiss her then look at Joshua.
"We would like to talk to you". Mr Kennedy says. I stand there staring at them. What the hell are they up to?. I take a seat with my daughter on my lap.
"We have spent all day together with our niece. But, is it true what you said to Cole this morning?". My eyes trail towards where Cole is sitting then I look back at Kenna. I felt my eyes water.
"Yes, what I said this morning is true. Cole could never be a father". I stood with Kenna in my arms.
"We have no other choice but, to give you this". My ex-boss passes me a letter. I open it then look at each one of them my eyes focus on the letter. It is a court order for Kenna to have a paternity test. I shoot them all a look...
"You are going to put my daughter through this. You are all heartless bastards. Cole, I have never wanted anything from you. How could you let them do this to her when you know the goddamn truth?. I get it, you don't want to be a father, but you are willing to let your brothers put Kenna through this". I shook my head then stormed out with Kenna in my arms. I grabbed her buggy plus her bag.

All four brothers walk towards me. "All of you can go to hell". I scream as I leave. I had Kenna firmly against my body. I stood at the elevator waiting. Everyone is watching me. I just wanted the doors to open but they seem to be taking forever. I could see Joshua stood staring at me. "Mr Kennedy. I am revoking your visiting privileges". He shakes his head then I step in the elevator. I look at Kenna giving her kiss. "Mummy loves you, baby". She cuddles into me.
We finally get home. My sister is sitting on the sofa hugging her legs. I looked at her. "My god Chanel what the hell happened?". Her face looks all bruised up.
"Zak called me so, I went to see him. He lost his temper thinking I had been with some guy. I told him I had been here with you but, he just kept hitting me". I placed Kenna on her feet then sit on the sofa with my sister.
"You should have called the police on his ass". I tell her while taking her in my arms.
"If I did that it would make things worse". She trembles with tears.
"Well, I have had a lousy day too". She looks at me then wipes her eyes.
"What happened to you?". I look at her bruised face.
"This morning I dropped Kenna of with Joshua to watch for me well, Cole just happened to walk into his office as I wanted to leave. He started to accuse me of being a whore that I had trapped him then telling me how Kenna is not his. So, I agreed with him so we wouldn't argue. When I got back this afternoon to pick Kenna up all four brothers are sitting in the conference room with Kenna running around kicking a football. They wanted to talk so, I sit down with my daughter on my lap then Joshua asks me if what I said to Cole is true. I said yes thinking it would be the best thing for them to leave me alone but, Joshua hands me a letter from the court telling me I must comply with the order of face court proceedings. They want Kenna to take a paternity test. I looked at Cole giving him a piece of my mind telling him I wanted nothing from him then I left". My sister hugs me.
"What are you going to do?". She asks with a concerned tone.
"There is nothing I can do but, comply with the order. They are going to find out the truth that Cole is the father. I just hope they will leave me alone when they know the truth". I watched Kenna playing with her toys. "I should start dinner". I stand then bend down to kiss Kenna on the head.
"This is all because of your ex-boss?". Chanel is now helping me prepare dinner.
"Pretty much. I knew I should have never agreed to him coming here to see her. Just because they have money, they think they can get away with it. I am upset that they are putting Kenna through this. It is not like I have asked them for anything. I don't want anything from them". I respond. "You could help me get the spare room ready for Kenna to go in". I add.
"That would be fun, just like old times when mum and dad would let us decorate our own rooms". We both laugh.
"I do not want any bright neon colours as you had in your room". I tell her she nudges me.
"What are aunties for". We carried on finishing dinner. We sit to eat then relaxed for a little while. I bathed Kenna then put her to bed. I wanted a shower which I had then sit on the bed with the lamp on looking at the letter they gave me. I still could not believe they had done this. I have tried my hardest to protect Kenna and now this happens.
Didn't have any means to fight this through the courts so, I had to do this to her. It is breaking my heart. She is two her birthday is in a few weeks, but this is so heart-breaking. They need to take her blood plus they will have a sample of Cole's. They didn't have to do this I would have just walked away. I didn't want anything from them. I place the letter by my lamp then slide in bed. I turn the lamp off to fall asleep.
