《Mr. Executive》Chapter 43

"We're nearly here sir." Calls out the driver from the front to which Alexander simply nods as he does the partition back up.
"You nervous?" Alexander questions as he draws slow, soothing shapes onto my shoulder with his fingers.
I was sure that Alexander was doing it more for his relaxation than mine.
"Isn't my constant fidgeting a dead give away?" I answer back with a question.
Alexander lightly laughs before he places a soft, lingering kiss onto my forehead.
"Don't be babe, I'll be there with you throughout the night, I promise. Just stay by my side and ignore every word that comes out of my parents mouths." He says calmly.
"That's easier said than done Alexander." I mumble out.
"I know babe, I know."
All too soon, our destination came into view and it was most certainly hard too miss.
The dauntingly huge, proud brick laden building was glittering with the captivating lights that shown like a beacon to everyone that something important and grand was about to take place.
The place seemed almost medieval like with its large columns and dips of arches and huge windows and walkways.
"I'm assuming you like it?" Whispers Alexander into my ear.
I nod my head as I look out the window once more.
"It's beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you." He replies back cheekily.
Laughing, I release a breath of air as Alexander's car door opens.
"Mr. Alexander, it's great to see you again."
The, what I was assuming is the manager of the place, greets Alexander as he steps out of the car.
Helping me out, Alexander finally replies.
"Yes you too Oscar. I hope everything is running well."
"Of course, everything is in top shape." Says the man named Oscar.
"Good, well I'll be on my way."
Oscar departs while Alexander wraps one of his arms around my waist tugging me close to him as we ascend the stairs.
"Why am I not surprised you own this place?" I muse, trying to make conversation and not let my nerves get to me.
Why was I so nervous? Everything would be fine, I assure myself.
"Because it means you're getting to know me better and nothing takes you by surprise anymore." He says happily.
Oh how wrong he was.
Luckily enough we hadn't met anyone by the main door or when we were walking through the hall.
But it was like Alexander wanted everyone to see us together because as soon as we stepped foot into the giant hall, all eyes turned to us.
And by all, I mean a good couple of hundred.

Gulping at everyone's intense eyes, I try to shift behind Alexander but he doesn't let me as he calmly tightens his arm round my waist and walks down the few stairs with me in tow.
All sorts of people scrounge round him as they gather to greet Alexander.
They all wanted to talk to him and all of them wanted a piece of him, especially all the women, all of them beautiful and model like.
But for some reason as everyone swarmed round Alexander as they talked to him and eventually noticed my presence, the way Alexander introduced me with so much pride made my heart warm as they all greeted me politely, even the women who were undressing him with their eyes had not a bad word to say.
*******
By the time the large crowd had dissipated, I was shocked to see that they weren't even a quarter of the people Alexander had to meet.
And wherever Alexander went, I followed.
Like a lost puppy, admittedly.
Alexander tugged on my arm as we eventually made it to our table.
I was delighted to see Stella and Abby both there as we greeted each other with so much enthusiasm even though I'd seen Stella yesterday and Abby not even a few hours goes ago.
Much to my dismay I say Alexander's father sitting at the table and next to him a strikingly beautiful woman who had light grey eyes and auburn coloured hair.
My assumptions of that woman being Alexander's mother was correct when he let me go and went over to kiss her on the cheek
"Mother." He said formally.
Why was he so formal around his parents?
His mother greeted him by pulling him into a hug.
It was a sight to see as Alexander had never looked more awkward in his life.
"And oh my gosh this must be Nora. She truly is a picture isn't she." Is what all I heard as his mother moved quick as the flash and hugged me tightly as well.
I'm guessing the whole family was incredibly well informed about me, glancing over at Alexander, the faint redness surrounding his neck gives me a clear indication that his formality was just a show and was clearly a chatterbox.
"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. James." I say as she pulls back.
"Oh nonsense call me Sandra, please none of that formality." She scolds gently.
I nod my head.
"Well it's nice to meet you Sandra."
"And you as well Nora." She says beaming from ear to ear.
"Okay that's enough ma, you're going to freak Nora out." Jokes Stella while Sandra rolls her eyes.

Throughout the entire conversation Alexander remained quite and would only look at me with a sheepish smile whenever our gazes met.
********
I had nothing to worry about.
I felt silly now for getting so nervous and paranoid for nothing.
A good few hours had passed an I was having a great time.
A mini auction was held in which all the proceedings would go to charity and Alexander had even donated quite a large sum of money.
Right now, everyone including me were clapping as Alexander had just finished giving his speech, of course everyone had listened intently as he enraptured every sing persons attention in that room.
Alexander approached our table and sat down, leaning over to kiss me on the cheek.
"You were great." I encourage him as he smiles once more and this time kisses me on the lips.
I blush under the stares of Alexander's family, nearly all of them having creepy looks on their faces from his public display of affection.
The food had started being served and to say it tasted divine was an understatement.
I could get used to this luxury, I think to myself wryly.
Slowly everyone started to get up from their seats to mingle and talk with one another, some even started to sway along to the music with their partners.
"Come on." Alexander says as he gently pulls me up and holds my hand.
I've been introduced to tonnes of people and unfortunately I only remember around two names max.
Amidst all the talking and introductions is when I finally saw him.
Feeling Alexander tense up beside me, I know he's seen him too.
A gap forms around the small crowd as Sam eventually pushes his way through to us.
And coming to a halt right before everyone.
"It's certainly nice to see the both of you once again."
"Sam what are you doing here?" Grounds out Alexander while i discreetly try to nudge him in the side.
Every single person was looking from us to Sam and then back again, like an intense fight was about to break out.
You never know though.
"Ah everyone, I'm so glad you're here to witness this." Starts out Sam maliciously.
Pleading him with my eyes for him not to go through with this, Sam clearly ignores me as he continues.
"Well you see everyone this is the very Nora. The one that tried to fuck me and all."
Gasps are heard all round the small gathering, thankfully though many of the people were too busy dancing and still eating.
Hearing his words, tears form in my eyes and my stomach sinks as I feel like the epitome of embarrassment.
"Shut up Sam." Growls out Alexander as he pulls me behind him, covering me from Sam's sharp gaze.
"Is this true Alexander?" Cuts in David sounding incredibly angry.
This was the first time I had seen him so angry and I certainly didn't like it.
He reminded me of a raging Alexander.
Stella and Abby both come up behind me, almost as if they were flanking my sides for protection.
"Why should I Alexander? Don't you want anyone to know that Nora's nothing more than a good time, a free fuck? Wait is she even really free?"
Tears almost slip out of my eyes and I feel thoroughly sick to my stomach like the food was about to come back up again any minute.
The shocked and smirking spectators made it even worse.
Just as the words slipped from Sam's mouth Alexander lunges towards Sam but David and another unknown man I'd never seen before both grab each of his arms.
Ignoring the fact I was almost a blubbering mess, I reach for Alexander to stop.
"He's not worth it." I whisper out, ignoring Sam's smirking face.
"Nora come on lets go." Ushers Stella but I still stay there grasping his arm.
"I know," he says looking down at me, "but you are."
"Awe would you look at that. You guys honestly bring tears to my eyes." Sam says fake wiping a tear from his eyes.
"I swear to god Sam, just shut the fuck up."
"Alexander is this true?" Comes a booming voice from the crowd only for a middle aged man around his late thirties to emerge.
Lightly from my memory of the night I remember him as one of the most important investors.
A Bill or something.
"No Bill, Mr. Jenkins was just leaving." Steps in David.
"No I wasn't." Scoffs Sam.
"Yes you were, someone call security please." Says David getting increasingly angry while Alexander still stands there in the unknown persons grasp.
Noticing my slight shaking, Alexander pulls me into him, almost as if my presence calmed him down.
It certainly did me.
"Alexander I've warned you once and I'm not going to do it again. I'm sick of your constant flings, it's caused so many problems in the office and I swear I'll drop out." Calls out Bill.
David expectantly glances over at Alexander and I, not bothering to answer for us.
My mind comes up blank and now I fear for Alexander and I.
Oh god, he's probably going to deny everything and leave me high and dry.
"She's my fiancée."
