"I'm so happy that you're finally back darling, and it surprised me a lot" my mom said.

I smiled, i was watching her cooking a food for me, she said that she missed cooking a breakfast for me.

"Gabe brought a really precious present for my birthday" mom said and it made me realize that her birthday was coming.

Maybe she thought that it was a surprise for her birthday, what a dumb daughter i was for forgetting my own mom's birthday.

"I missed you mom" i said.

"Aw i missed you too honey, I've been waiting for 6 years for you to come back" she said while kept looking at the pan.

"I missed first 6 years of Jacob it is sad he's growing up so fast" i said.

She turned around then put the fried fish on the white plate in front of me,

"You missed his first walk and first word lana, you actually missed a lot of things" she said and it kinda made me sad.

"It makes me sad" i said.

"Me too, I wanted you to be there but you were so busy and I couldn't mad at you cause it's all your responsibility and i know you're mature enough to decide what really best for you" she sent me a smile.

But mom i wished you knew how i actually felt everyday, i always felt like i had nothing to hold on. I felt like i was lost in the middle of the dark forest, i was struggling around passing every semester alone in my room studying with so many books around me.

"I felt so lost back in my medical school mom, it felt like i was struggling through the dark forest" i said to her.

"Aw honey, why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"I don't want to bother you" i said.

"You're my daughter and I'm your mother there's nothing in this world can put you away from me." She said.

"So how's life" she asked me like my own best friend.

"I heard diana is getting married is that right?" She asked.

I nodded in a smile while started to eat the fish that she cooked for me. She was sitting in front of me while watching and asking me a lot of questions.

"Tell her that I'm happy for her" she said and i nodded.

"How about the superstar guy that gabriel always talked about?" She asked and it made me surprise how did they know about him? I didn't tell them a thing.

Oh it must be Alec, watch out when I come back Alec I'm going to ripped your face with my own hand.

"He's alright" i said while i couldn't hide my smile.

"Who is he lana?" Mom asked me with a curiosity and a smile on her face.

It had been a really long time since mom asked me about my personal life, and i missed it. I couldn't remember when was the last time we had some girls talk like this.

"He's an actor mom" i said.

"I know, i mean is he a friend or something more" she asked and i burst into laugh.

"He's my lover mom" i said while twisting the fish with my fork.

"He's your boyfriend?" She asked me to the point and it sounded weird but also funny.

"Mom!" I screamed and it made her laugh.

"Why? It is okay to have a lover Lana, it's a normal thing" she said before sipping into her drink.

"Are you going to introduce him to us?" She asked me and it made me smile, i felt my cheek was hot.

"He's actually going to be in La in a few days" i said to her.

"You're going to take him to diana's wedding aren't you" she asked me.

"Yeah" i said with a laugh.

"Pretty interesting" my mom said before turning around to wash the empty cup on the sink.

"I promise I'm going to introduce him to you" i said to her.

"Sooner is better, I don't want you to get hurt again okay" she said.

I wondered, were my family still had a good relationship with his family? cause I hadn't heard about them since i left. I didn't even got a chance to say goodbye to them, I didn't remember when was the last time i met them.

"Mom where do you want to go today?" I asked her.

"Office" she said.

I looked into my phone screen and she was right it was Wednesday, she was still working in our family company. I missed the building, it had been a long long time since the last time i got there.

"Do you want to come with me and say hi?" She asked then i nodded.

"I miss Emilia though"

"She's my personal secretary now actually" she said.

"She's one of the best one" i laugh then she nodded,

"She's my second hand" My mom said.

Talking about mom's second hand, Matilda wasn't working in the house anymore cause she was getting old and she wanted to got some rest so she quit. But mom and gabriel still in a contact with her, i missed her so much.

My mom put her stuff inside of her small bags while I was drinking the water from the cup,

"Lets go" she said then walked away from the dining room.

I put the cup next to the empty plate then began to follow her out of the dining room and went straight to the lobby.

The car that was going to take mom to the office was parked in the lobby, Mr Dillon was standing in front of the car to open up the door for us. My mom and i got into the car together.

On the way to the office mom told me about our company next project but i was being me, I wasn't interested into business at all. But i kept listen into whatever she said cause at least i knew what our company was up to.

Once the car entered the main building the security guard opened up the door for us, my mom and i walked into the lobby. I felt the employees were looking at me while mom and i were walking through the lobby, i was thinking was it because of the too casual clothes or was it all because it had been a long long time since the last time i got here.

I kept looking into the floor while following my mom into the elevator, It took a minute for the elevator to be opened. Once the elevator door was opened we walked in then it brought bring us into her office.

The elevator door was opened, mom walked out first with me behind her.

"Oh darling Avalana" i heard Emilia's familiar voice appeared.

"Emilia it's been a really long time" i said while hugging her.

She pulled me into a hug while her hand was brushing my back, Emilia had a different hairstyle since the last time we met. it made me wonder how could she stay in this company for that long.

"I missed you so much, how's england" she asked me while we started to walk with my mom next to me.

"I missed you too, it was great" i said to her.

We were walking and talking until i realize it wasn't my dad's old office, it used to be gabriel's and now it was my mom's office room. Then I remembered what my mom said to me that she wasn't going to be as active as she used to be.

Once we got into mom's office Emilia left us two, mom began to turn on her laptop before started to read so many papers that laying on the table. I was only sitting on the sofa while looking at the view from the glass wall behind her, that day was a day off for me while my mom was working on her job.

"Mom" i said.

"Where's gabriel?" I asked her.

"In your dad's old office" she said while typing on the laptop.

"Can i meet him?" I asked her.

She looked up at me then began to dial someone on the telephone on her table,

"Hello Francisca, is Gabriel on a meeting?" She asked.

"Okay thank you" my mom said.

"Yes you can" she said before getting back to work.

I got up from the sofa and walked out of her room, i opened the big wooden door then left her.

"Thanks mom" i said.

I went into gabriel's office and knocked before walked in, his head popped up from the paper he read once i opened the door. He looked surprise that i was there, and i was surprised that he got dad's old office, it was always be my favorite office.

"Hey bro what are you doing" i asked while started to walk inside.

"Working" he said simply.

"How's it?" I asked him.

"What?"

"Being a leader of a huge company" i asked him before walking around inside of his big office.

"It's pretty hard to share my time with Laura and Jacob now" he said while kept writing something down the paper.

"How's it?" He asked me back.

"Saving people lives" he continued.

He finally looked up at me,

"It's an honor, I'm still working at the ER though" i said before finally sitting on the white chair across his table.

"Excuse me sir, Miss Valerie would you like some drink?" I thought she was gabriel's new secretary.

"Oh i'd love an ice tea thank you" i said smiling.

"Your welcome miss" she smiled then walked out.

"I thought Emilia is going to be your secretary and where's the last one?" I asked him with a hand gesture.

"Emilia had to be my secretary but she chose to be on mom's side" he said then looked up at me with a tired face.

"She's so loyal" i said.

"And my last secretary she quits" he said.

"She's a nice person you must've done something bad to her right?" I asked him.

"She gave birth so she quits" he sounds annoyed.

"Ooh" i said.

So there were so many things I didn't know, I had been gone for a really long time.

Francisca his secretary walked in with a cup of tea for me, i thank her then she left us two inside of this big office room.

I began to drink the tea from the cup when gabriel suddenly throw me a question,

"How's the hot Swedish actor what is his name? Ayden?" He asked and it made me choke.

"Oh no, doctor tell me how to handle a doctor that choking?" Gabriel teased me.

I sent him a hate glare but he was laughing at my stupid reactions. I didn't feel comfortable when my family asked me about my personal love life, I didn't know why. Maybe because the last time everyone knew about the relationship between me and him, it didn't run well.

"How do you know?" I asked him.

"Oh come on sis there's a thing called technology now" he said.

"You're not the typical guy that seems interested on celebrity gossip like that" i said while looking at him.

"Yes, I don't but Laura and the employees are interested in that so.."

"Don't tell me that's the reason why they've been throwing me a glance since i walked out of the car this morning?" I asked him.

"Probably but maybe they just missed you" he said.

He said, it was actually mind blown. I didn't know they knew me by my famous boyfriend. I meant i had never been interviewed cause i hate attention and i wanted to stay out of it, but the fact it was so hard to stay out of the media when you had a famous actor boyfriend.

"So have you met Apollo? Or well

Known as the youngest next generation standing in his company?" He asked me and it was the weirdest question of the day.

He laughed when he saw my face when he said his name, it seemed like he just thrown me a bucket of embarrassment water on my face.

"I'll be gone from LA probably Next week, i have a job in England" i said while was trying to look find towards my own brother.

"Besides you're still working at the ER" he teased me while started to continue writing something down the paper.

"Ugh not you in here not Alec back in England you guys are the same always teasing me" i said.

"Okay then nice talk Gabe, bye" i said before getting up from the chair, i was about to leave him alone in this huge office room until he opened his mouth,

"You cannot avoid him Lana, our family still has a good relations with the Hamilton even both of the companies are supporting one another in the line." He said

"So i bet you're going to meet him even you're trying so hard to not to, sooner or later" he continued.

His words felt like a new horror thing for me, it scared me a lot. But i had to look like i wasn't afraid of his words at all, i knew my brother he was only teasing me.

"What ever" i said before closing the door behind me.
